I don't understand how experiences can be so far apart from the same company if your dealing directly with the manufacturer, but here's ours:

We had a large Milgard window installed in our living room, front of house after the 1994 earthquake. At the beginning of 2021, I called Milgard directly, as our installer from 1994 was no longer in business, to report a problem with the window breaking down and beginning to fog. They we extremely helpful, came out within days to inspect it, and though it took a few weeks lead time (supposedly longer than usual due to Covid), a team arrived, rebuilt the window here and reinstalled it. Since it works better than when purchased and still good as when new!

Don't let your contractor use Milgard! They will rip you off. They do not honor their own warranty. I have a house full of defective windows that I cannot open and Milgard refuses to address the problem.
