I intended to buy one batch of wool, my phone indicated a problem with payment method and I foolishly repeated twice. I immediately tried to amend order but site said this is not possible. I was charged three times straight away. I had to await delivery, print two return labels and get a pickup organised. Ten days on and I can still track and see the parcels have not arrived back. The site says I might be 14 days from return to refund. I have been happy with purchases in the past but this has certainly put me off ordering anything in the future. I was debited 70 pounds for the extra wool over three weeks ago and am really irritated about the slow process to recoup this money.
I placed an order of close to $400 at 9:36 am and at 9:37 am, the yarn I ordered went on sale. They are refusing to adjust the price! I won't be giving them my business anymore. Check the time stamps in the photos.
They advertise a 25% off discount that applies to everything, so I add some non-sale yarns to my cart. Nope, doesn't apply to any of those. Add some random item. Doesn't apply to that either. I'm sick of these stores that exclude 90% of their items but don't tell you until you've wasted your time shopping. Just tell me what it does apply to and stop wasting my time.
Very unhappy with Lovecrafts.com. The wool I bought was hand washed and stretched to the point of unravelling some of the stitches. The remaining article was mishapen and the yarn had lost its fluffiness, it was now lank and uneven. It could be that the high proportion of nylon was too much.
Lovecrafts made as if they were interested but didn't offer a refund at all.
Very disappointed.
I have ordered twice from Lovecrafts. They have a $60 free shipping threshold. Website is easy to navigate and I like how easy it is to filter results.
Everything arrived in excellent condition in pretty organza bags. I ordered Lion Brand Landscapes in 2 colors, both of which I loved. I also ordered Cascade Yarns (from Washington State) Swaddle bulky yarn in 3 colors, which I also loved. I have made 2 shawls with that. I got Lion Brand Shawl in a ball which was thinner than described and returned it. They gave me a refund minus a $2 "adjustment" -- I don't know what that is but it was basically hassle free.
Errible communication!
I placed my order on May 29 2023, paid over PP at same time.
Love Craft received the money and that was all there "service"
I tried to call, I wrote 2 emails with PP payment receipt Today is June12, no answer, no shipment confirmation, no returns.
Ordered 8 skeins, received 6. Have now communicated with Lovecraft 16 times and still no yarn.
Not impressed at all by this company and would never order again.
I have been buying from LoveCrafts for years and have had no problems, either with delivery or customer service. However, the site has changed completely in the last couple of years. Earlier, there was so much more yarn on offer - now they push a small number of brands to the limit and sadly, brands like Rowan that you can buy easily anywhere, as well as brands I am not interested in, Paintbox or Debbie Bliss are pushed, seemingly in an effort to get you to choose them over other, more interesting, environmentally friendly and smaller companies. I agree that the 'special offers' can be very misleading, and the yarn you want will not be reduced when you are led to think it will be. In the past the site was much more 'useful' (for knitters at least). You could search for yarn by tension, you could save projects in your library, and these two functions have disappeared. Another factor that has made me increasingly reluctant to buy from LoveCrafts is that many of the yarns they sell can be significantly cheaper on other websites, for example Sensai Ito was €16.99 last time I looked and costs MUCH less than that if you order from an online wool shop. Therefore, it is now always better to check whether you can buy your product cheaper elsewhere. I find the prices now really exaggerated in many cases. So, in summary, less choice, less useful website, more concentration on products they want to push, and higher prices than necessary. But I cannot fault delivery and customer service. LoveCrafts have sorted out knotty problems for me, and quickly.
I placed an order for enough yarn to make a blanket, to be shipped to Ireland. I was giving them a second chance after their incompetent shipping company, Evri, lost my previous orders. Minutes after placing this order, I talked to their customer service rep in chat and got their promise that they wouldn't use Evri this time because Evri has a bad track record in this area. I was assured it was taken care of. To my shock, the parcel was shipped by Evri anyway and of course Evri screwed up again. Even though the parcel was supposed to have been shipped duty prepaid, I was emailed by the post office and requested to pay Customs fees. I contacted Lovecrafts for help and they told me to pay the fees. I refused, so the post office, who were holding the parcel at their depot 250 km from me, returned it to the sender. Lovecrafts refunded my money. After their "investigation", they now claim I received the parcel and are hounding me to pay them back. What actually happened was that when Evri handed the parcel off to the post office, Evri marked it in their system as "delivered", but it was not delivered to me. I sent proof of all this to Lovecrafts. They owe me a massive apology and I never intend to buy from them again until they figure their mess out and STOP USING EVRI.
I ordered around $90 of tshirt material yarn. 2 black rolls, 1 white, 1 dark green, 1 coral, 1 peach and 1 mint green. On their site they have 3 shade discrepancies under each color, of which I was fine getting any of the 3 or anything in between.
What I received was completely different than what I ordered
-Dark green came dark brown.
-Mint green came bright baby blue.
-Coral came neon hot pink
-Peach came bright baby pink
-black and white were correct
None of these colors were listed as possibilities for the material I chose and aren't even close to the same color. I can't use any of the colors for the project I intended to use them for, so I emailed customer service with photos of the mishap to find a resolution. I was told to ship them back at my expense and I would be refunded. My expense? Someone put the wrong colored yarn in my order and i need to pay shipping again back to them, then again for the correct colors.this is at no fault or decision change of my own. I just want what I purchased.
A company I have used many times and with whom I was pleased until just after Christmas when goods sent via Hermes were not delivered on time and Hermes told me there was a "problem" with the order. I did get a refund from LoveCrafts but had to resort to emailing them as they did not answer their phones and did not have an active online chat. They eventually told me they had stopped Hermes from delivering and if they attempted to do so. Hermes did not even ring my door bell to allow me to refuse the packet but left it. I then had the problem with returning the goods and, yes, Lovecraft yet again were not contactable. I was concerned as I now had a refund and the goods. Eventually Lovecrafts emailed me a Hermes collection sticker but Hermes did not turn up. Back into the cycle and Lovecrafts sent me a Royal Mail sticker so I had to trudge to the Post Office to return their wool. Lovecrafts let down by Hermes, (I think the "problem" was that the packet from Lovecrafts was 1/3 open but no one communicated that to me which only became apparent when the packet WAS delivered even though they said it would not be! Avoid both companies would be my advice because having got a refund in my bank account before the wool arrived, I was then emailed that I would be refunded upon their receipt of my returned packet!
Do not buy this product or any product that they offer. Total waste of money... Be warned,, They are cheap scammers...
