I am left-handed and had to adjust the angle of cutting with the bevel knives. Cutting left-leaning a bit right makes for straight 90° cuts.
Very sharp knives out of the display box.
I now own the whole collection except the steak knives which I have no use for. I like the way they feel and perform. Very sharp, cuts cleanly. The single bevel takes some getting used to because there is a tendency to cut unevenly while cutting large cuts of meat. However, after a few cuts, one gets used to using the single bevel.
These are the sharpest steak knives I have ever used. I have always disliked the serrated edged knives but that was generally all one saw to purchase. Now that I have found Kamikoto I will never be disappointed again. I love all of the knives I have purchased. The packaging is excellent. Would make a spectacular gift.
I love Kamikoto. They stand by thier products and when something fails like shipping they will replace it and offer you a discount on your next order. I purchased these sets for friends, family and clients. They ALL love them and want to buy the complete set. I continue to buy more knives from them including the new 13" blade that have no place to store it AND the steak knives.
The people, product, process and packaging are all well honed, top notch performers.
Forty years a Chef, these are the last, best knives I'll ever need.

I love these knives. I ordered the 13' knife and it's awesome, except the box came broken. How can I get a replacement box, because that's where I keep my knife.

The knives are super, they fit the hand quite well and they're rather sharp---plus, you can buy a stone to maintain the cutting edge. The knives come in attractive blond wood presentation cases, which are very good storage spots. I can't fault the knives in the least.
Knives are of excellent quality and presented in elegant boxes. Highly recommended.

Extraordinarily well-made! Priced pretty good for what they are. They feel amazing in your hand. Knives I expect to own for a long long time.
I have given several sets of these as gifts and I personally have most of what they sell. Their shipping is slow and what they consider "razor sharp" falls below expectations. They must be sharpened to perform and be functionally sharp advertised. They do look nice and are a great gift but they are a little overpriced even with their discount.

Don't touch mine. Buy your own. These are great knives.
Once again the crafters at Kamikoto have presented a superb blade in the Yanagiba. It is a blade to look at and handle with wonder, and great respect, and is the epitome of their craft. From attracting my attention with another unique blade, to ordering, delivery, and opening the presentation box, simple and focused in its own way, Kamikoto has done so with ease, attention to detail, and a fast and friendly response. We are thoroughly pleased with all of the blades we have acquired with Kamikoto, but none so much as with the Yanagiba.
Looks sharp and cuts sharp. The weight, balance and feel in hand is outstanding. Wish I could afford other models of this wonderful utensil.
