A truly disappointing experience with this site--essentially just a glorified Google search. I sought some time-sensitive legal advice, and while the rep. Who responded was quick and seemed knowledgeable, it felt like I was getting a lot of cut-and-paste information, most of which I had already discovered myself online. When I queried about something more 'advanced' the rep. Sent me an "offer" to have a live telephone chat for $300 (!).
Just Answer assured me up from that I would only be charged for the initial fee AFTER I accepted the advice as useful; however, they charged me immediately after I was connected to the legal rep. Their signup page is also incredibly misleading, in that it offers a "free trial," but then automatically selects a locked-in monthly rate of upwards of $50--which they have ALSO already charged to my card.
I searched reviews on this site, found a lot of disappointed users and it seems that while JustAnswer customer service is lacking if contacted directly through the site, they are quick to respond to negative marks on review sites. So I thought I'd expedite the process and post here... will be awaiting a full refund. Thanx!

My dog was acting strangely so I was just looking through posts on JustAnswer. A vet assistant came online and asked me to explain the problem, so I did. THEN they ask for a refundable $5 deposit and promise to have a vet read about my dog's problems. I was instructed to press "continue" to make the deposit. I chose to go through Paypal because I'm in the midst of an identity theft problem and won't give anyone my credit card numbers. I thought I was seeing that I had $19 balance in my Paypal account and figured, "that's good... I only need $5". HOWEVER the balance was what JustAnswer was trying to collect. I feel pretty stupid because I rarely use my Paypal account for anything other than eBay purchases. Once I realized that JustAnswer charged me, and received, $19 I was furious. I immediately contested the "purchase" with Paypal and sent JustAnswer a note stating I did NOT agree to a $19 charge and that I will not open any correspondence from a vet until this is resolved. We'll see how legit they are when they refund the full $19 or we'll find out that they really are a scam. I'll update when I have an answer. 3-8-16 As you can see by the answer posted, they are not accepting any responsibility for their misleading practices. At NO TIME did the website ever say there was a $19 charge to have my question answered and at NO TIME did their website ever say there was a different policy for Paypal users. I messaged them through Paypal within minutes of realizing I was tricked. They only responded today because I escalated the Paypal claim when they did not respond to me. I never received an answer to my question, nor would I accept an answer to my question, which I stated in my immediate response to them. They only responded today 3-8-16 because this was the final day Paypal would allow them to respond before finding in my favor. What a pack of crooks! So much for their "No Risk. 100% Satisfaction Guarantee".
Hello Dena, we're very sorry for any misunderstanding. Customers who pay using a credit card will pay a small deposit, with the remainder being charged when an Expert responds. Customers paying by PayPal have to pay the whole deposit upfront because PayPal requires the username and password to your PayPal account. So, you can see how paying via PayPal is very different from paying with a credit card. Clearly, we need to improve the messaging to customers when they choose PayPal as their funding source.
In any case, both PayPal customers and credit card customers have to pay the full deposit amount in order to unlock answers for viewing. The small deposit amount that credit card customers pay is a way of validating their credit card.

I had a problem where my refrigerator temperature was too warm. The JustAnswer expert texted back and forth with me a number of times, had me check various things and I was able to find and fix the problem. The refrigerator is working properly now. I am co owner with 3 other sisters. Two of them want to remodel my moms old house and I want to sell it.
