It was eye opening to look at job descriptions more strategically. I ended up getting a job outside of the traditional application process, but I'm confident that I would have made some good traction using Jobscan.
Useful insights, advises and resume feedback. It helped me to get a job! Very easy to use and very clear outcomes - highly recommended for anyone who is job hunting. I regret I didn't know about this great tool earlier.
I subscribed to Jobscan 4 days ago and the system is not working properly on my side. I sent several emails requesting support, and their solutions did not work. The support team no longer sends emails, and I cannot communicate with Jobscan.
Problem - No matter which resumes I request in the ATS scan, Jobscan always refers the analysis of an old resume already deleted from the system.
Tip for consumers:
The ATS system looks great, but the support is terrible.
Had asked for the search function for previously-applied job, but received no solution from Support after nearly 2 years. Disappointing.
We should be able to download the entire Scan History in order to assess comb data & gauge our job search progress.
The resume scanner gives keywords that are not relevant to the skills needed for specific roles. It just picks repeated words. I am also not a fan of the resume builder as it doesn't scan my professional written resume properly. Once you make payment that is it.

Jobscan will provide you a new resume but it's off. They add unncessary punctuations and the format is always off.

Am afraid I am getting below what I had hoped for with jobscan. The only function that I thought was working well also turned out to be below par. The resume review function keeps scoring low despite implementing all the changes proposed. As for the cover letter, it simply jumps from low to high score even without making a change. This makes jobscan unreliable and a waste of my time and money.

I have not secured one interview using the resume customization tools on this site. I have gotten scores of about 75% in almost every case and have heard nothing back. I am very qualified in my field, so this is surprising. I guess it could be the job market right now, but I don't feel like this has given me any advantage for the money.
I like the job tracker, but when I input a job, it needs to flow right into me uploading my resume so I can customize it for the job. Also, I want a tracking stage for rejections that is not just an archive. I want to track if they rejected me or if I rejected the job because it was not a good fit. Also, this needs to load into its page. I have had situations where I clicked wrong, and none of the data I put in about a job was saved because it closed the pop-up window for entering the job.

Step 1. Get laid off
Step 2. Eliminate unnecessary personal expenses
Step 3. Start applying to jobs and get recommended jobscan
Step 4. Pay $90 for a *minimum* 3 month plan
Step 5. Get ZERO traction from Jobscan resumes
At this point, I assume this software is a scam. I've built many resumes with Jobscan and absolutely none of them have gotten call backs. The added time and effort that goes into each resume appears to be a waste of time. $90 is also not a negligible amount of money when you just lost your job.
Avoid this, save your money, and just work your network. The prospect of appeasing an ATS seems futile.
The new scan tool, does not conform to formatting issues.
Does not upload your resume in to scan tool.
Not reading ATS words present in a resume.
Reformates your resume
No customer support.

Hi
I hope that you are well.
I have been using Jobscan but still getting rejects on my CV. The feedback when I reached out was it did not make it pass the ATS. There is something fundamental missing in this software. For the price, it does not perform well and does not make candidates stand out. I will be unsubscribing end of my 3 months.

Of the 17 positions I have applied for using Jobscan, I have received rejection letters from 14, three are still outstanding. All these positions were positions I would be competitive for based upon my knowledge and experience. While my initial scores were in the mid-30s, my final scores ranged from 67 to a high of 86, the average being about 71. The AI selects irrelevant words that are required for the position but insignificant for the resume itself. In other words, it flags acronyms for associations and credentials required to even apply, not to set yourself apart from the other applicants. Interestingly, I applied for 15 jobs not using Jobscan and I received interviews from 5. I will not be renewing my subscription or recommending to others. Additionally, the example resumes look like they were pulled off the internet. They are definitely not in a format that would catch my attention as an employer.

The product itself is extremely basic and not worth the $$$. Chat GPT does a much better job and it is FREE. I tried to get my money back one day after use and they refused to give me a refund. I have tried disputing this charge 3 separate times and am considering legal action because I was well within the terms of the refund policy. Please avoid at all costs. Read the experiences on Reddit. There have been several negative instances and people say it isn't even based on the US, so basic review of their resume missed some pretty big mistakes.

This experience is really frustrating. I think you should be able to reupload the same resume as many times as you want for one job and have it only count once. I disagree with the words that your algorithm puled out of the job description. Your machine tells me my page size is nonstandard but that is incorrect.
Career center at my school suggested it.

Although you subscribe for free Premium package, you hardly can use all features especially LinkedIn Optimisation. The summary is so short that it is not at all useful. The chat window only appeared once and I can't go back or seem to find it. How can someone decide on this trial to go for $90 package is beyond me

I just signed up for the service, I have nothing to go on.
Why are you asking if you should follow up with me to make sure I'm satisfied with the experience? You don't follow up with everyone?
Not digging the last question of whether or not to follow up regarding customer service. When I said no, it suddenly said that I'd miss out on other things besides being asked about my experience. Not cool.
I read about it on LinkedIn and saw some good reviews.

I signed up for 2 free scans a month. Your message says I have 5 scans left, however, your step one does not allow me to paste, and doesn't allow me to download my resume. While I am trying to paste, it keeps showing it is scanning.
I saw YouTube video by Bill Benoist.

I purchased job scan quarterly plan and it was automatically cancelled due to payment issues. Even though my credit card was not expired or any issues with it.
Job scan never sent email or any communication about failed payment to fix issue. They just simply killed the plan they offered as part of 50% off quarterly plan. I really feel cheated as first 4 month I did not use the service much but when I can to login to site I find that I am no more premium and customer care also simply did not help on the same they just said its my fault to not check emails. Where I did not found any email even in junk emails since my account was expired within 10 days and my junk email also don't delete before 30 days. I will not trust them again as they simply delete my premium without notifying me.
Tip for consumers:
Do check if you have discounted account they might end it silently without letting you know.

Results with the same CV and job posting change in time without reasons, various tag are completely irrelevant, 2 scans a month are useless
They changed the UI and the algorithm to see the scores recently. In the new algorithm, it only shows important and high scored words. Some of the words do not even exist nor match the job anymore. New UI makes it impossible to see those words unless you zoom out and scroll through each word. It is impossible to use it. Customer service is crap too. I sent them details with screenshot and they asked me to provide video saying they cannot repopulate the issue, why not pay me to do their job too.

Example: if in your cv you mentioned you are a consultant, and where you have applied written consultancy, the scanner will not recognize this word in your resume,
Example2: it is very funny this scanner considering coordinating as a hard skill, or team leader, or verbal communications,
Example 3: always shows margin formatting error though it is between 0.5 and 1 inch as recommended them but it will never work, even the resume templates i downloaded from jobscanner has shown always error margin formatting!
It is worthless it to pay this much amount for dumb and useless recommendations! This one of where I spend my money for nothing!
I haven't experienced an uptick in employer responses since I've used the software.
You could try it for free to get a feel for what it takes to improve your job match percentage. All you're doing is inserting the key words into your resume from the job listing, over and over, ad nauseam (if the job description has SaaS referenced 4 times, so must your resume!)
I'd bet a large sum most of the 5 star reviews here are employees of Jobscan. A mediocre product at best...
Too early to tell! Ask me after I have used it a bit. There's nothing more annoying than being asked for a review 5 seconds after you loaded the page.

I opened a 1-month trial with them, to test the services first so I can decide if they are right for me. The trial is only available if you subscribe to a 3-month membership. So when the trial ends they automatically charge you with 90 USD. The trick is that they send no email to confirm you started your trial and absolutely no email to notify you that your trial is about to end. They are as stealth as possible so as to maximize their chances of you forgetting to cancel before the trial ends. Which is what happened to me. Then, nobody replies from customer support. If you want to get services from a business that operates like this, go for it. For me these shady practices are a definite deal braker.
Tip for consumers:
Do NOT start a trial without making sur you have an alarm / a reminder set before the expiration date. They will NOT send you any form of notification and you will not see trial data in your online account !

I have only just signed up. I really don't know what value your service brings until I try it. While your site promotes one thing, do need the time to review. I would put this survey closer to the time of 20 minutes in.
I'm actively looking and missing out on opportunities because my resume doesn't seem to speak verbatim to the job posting.
Your stuff keep auto putting a jd and a resume before I even upload anything

Jobscan came about when founder James Hu was job seeking. He found the resume tailoring and keyword identification process too manual. After learning more about how an ATS works, he launched Jobscan in February 2014.
