Pathetic
May 31, 2017

Stay away from it. That's all I can say. Your well written articles will be rejected by the requester with no good reason. Half of the requests would have this special instruction: "This article is for my favorite writer. If you pick this article, I will reject it and give you a one star rating" or "My writer knows the topic. Don't pick this article." I mean what's the point?

This site sucks.
May 30, 2017

I have written for other websites similar to iwriter that start out with incredibly low pay and you work your way up fairly quickly to the better paying jobs worth a decent amount. I thought I would try that with this site and see if I become more satisfied with it eventually. However, I just did a 400 article for a measly $2 only for a glitch to file it under "not completed", which means that I don't get paid for the waste of my time. While the requester of the article doesn't have an issue because someone else just grabs the job and completes it instead. Now my stats for my completion record are lowered, which looks bad to prospective clients and I wasted my time writing something useless. When I contacted the help desk, I received a standard reply of "sorry for your inconvenience, but I can't help you because the job is done by someone else now." Maybe if your software wouldn't have had a glitch telling me you already had that article submitted when I tried to submit it, I would have been the one who completed it. There wasn't even a chance for it to be rejected by the requester. I'm so fed up, but I'm about half way to the payout threshold that I keep thinking maybe it is worth it to hang on at least until I reach the threshold. Not so sure about that, though. At $2 an article, that's 10 more articles I have to write, not have glitches when submitted, and then have approved by people who don't always fully explain what they want and can reject your work for any or no reason at all. Is it worth trying to reach the $20 pay out? I'm beginning to think not.

Low Pay
April 30, 2017

I just signed up but writing a 500 word article for under $5.00 or even $20 is insane. Most jobs are so low below - minimum wage. This website was recommended by freedomwithwriting. Disappointed that they touted this company.

The quality of content on that site is atrocious, so I assumed I would do fine with well-written articles. I wasn't taking the site too seriously. I just thought I could rank up quickly and it would serve as a decent alternative when work is slow.

Getting articles to write is ridiculous. Sometimes there are zero, but there are usually just 2-3 to pick from. At least one of them always has a message that says "don't pick this" because they're saving it for someone in particular. Wut?

When you do write an article, it either gets ignored or rejected. The requester can simply reject you and use the article anyway. It's insane. I've seen other beginner level articles come out of that site and I know my writing is much better, so it's very frustrating to get rejected anyway. What a waste...

I had a client reject an a-book a week after he approved it with full marks. Comments such as "great writing style" were thrown around. I was blocked immediately (while writing another piece) and all the funds in my account forfeited (just under $100). I then went on to work for legitimate agencies and now work reasonable hours a day. In fact, I can afford to take 2 days off a week, which was unheard of before. This site will slow you down as a writer and keep you from making valuable connections with amazing clients. IWriter is like an abusive ex-boyfriend.

I have a degree in writing and I thought it be fun to passively write on this site for side money. I wrote a well thought, 700 word piece and was rejected without any explanation. I have a feeling that the user just stole my writing without paying me. I've also requested articles to be written for my website just to save time. Nearly every person who submitted an article was lacking English fluency and therefore the articles mad no sense. The website is an absolute waste of time and money. Don't be fooled into thinking you'll get paid on it and don't be fooled into thinking you'll get decent content for $1.25.

Everytime, rejected, done with them. Even an article of just a dollar gets rejected for silly reasons. How do you expect us to earn cash online every timeour articles get rejected?

Requesters in iWriter are frauds. They are allowed to reject your articles and have no repercussions even if your article is genuine. See my full review here:

Money laundering problem
December 30, 2016

What they don't tell you is if a client is a scam artist, and wants to pocket your article for free, you will lose your rank if a client rejects your article. They're extremely nasty about it. It isn't mentioned anywhere. I plan on reporting them to the federal trade commission and better business bureau.

I'm not going to repeat all of the above reviews. I have a B. A. in English, and due to requestors not being detailed in their requests (most did not even use native English, proper spelling, or capitalization), I was also banned and will not be paid after at least 25 hours of writing. I'm glad I discovered this now before I spent even more time on it.

Thieves
September 12, 2016

There's no other word to describe this disreputable iwriter site, they steal your work, which by the way, most of the hirers ask for wonders when they are paying an alms for it, and when you finally get your work approved they block your account so you can't access to your funds, third time I got my account blocked, even though the second one I had a rating of 4.9 stars, PLAIN, IWRITER IS A SCAM, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THEM!

I recently got banned for low review and on top of that iWriter refused to pay me for me work. My low review was the first two articles I had written for the same person who rejected them and gave me a star. Those articles were well written and not plagiarized. I have a minor in creative writing and have been a content writer for over six years so I know what I'm doing. Unless you're willing to buy five star reviews don't bother.

Its not a scam
June 12, 2016

I have have been writing for them for five years now, the pay is low but guaranteed, no payment delay and the service is excellent. The only disappointing thing about the site is rejection, but you can alway look for requester with high approval rate. If you need quality article from the site, just get articles from premium level writers and above, you are likely going to get contents of your liking... if you happen to get a good writer, don't let him out of your sight... its the only way to get quality work.

Fake requesters
Fake reviews
Stupid reasons for rejection
No transparency!
I have been writing for 5 years! Positive feedback from professors and other clients. A 700 word article got rejected on iwriter like i am a 5 year old. And they will use the content anyway. They are making profits from innocent writers. STAY AWAY!

Everything seemed OK at first. I paid my $140 to be fast tracked and wrote my first piece as a Premium writer. My client liked my work and but wanted a couple of edits which I did. Waiting for final approval I then got a message saying that the client had been discredited and was no longer eligible. I emailed the guy to say how annoyed I was that they'd wasted my time. There was no reply. I haven't written anything since but when I went on the site I've been downgraded to Standard. I also have 33 reviews and am someone else's favourite writer - it doesn't add up. Read the reviews and give this outfit a wide bearth!

Scam
April 1, 2016

My first article was rejected; because, the client requested a 4 star writer (one that has paid for their ranking) and I was a newbie who chose not to pay for false ranks. I assumed this would be a non issue; because, the client had placed his request in the low paying pool open to any rank. As someone experienced with writing, I felt I could easily deliver what had been requested. The client reviewed my work, stated that I was a "very good writer," and then rejected my piece. I messaged the client to thank him for his time while offering to edit the work, should he so desire. I did not receive a response. After a full day had passed, I wrote him again to, respectfully, let him know that I would retain my work for future use with another client. In response to my message regarding recycling content, I received a very low rating from the potential buyer. In addition, my articles pending with other buyers were promptly rejected.

Suspecting foul play, I searched online for my content and found that it had been used, despite being rejected. When I contacted iwriter in regards to this, I was instructed to review the buyers. When I attempted to do so, the star review function was disabled and my comments were sent to an admin for review. My comments never displayed.

I was then notified of my account's impending deletion. In other words, they intended to ban me. I was also invited to purchase an Elite rank for $127. The Elite rank would keep my account active, give me a 4 star ranking, and allow me to accept higher paying jobs. I rejected this offer.

In addition, a writer's personal profile page, where one edits publicly displayed information, clearly shows the writer's social security number. I contacted iwriter regarding this and demanded that my ss# be removed from my page. I understood the need for it initially but could not comprehend why it would retain a position embedded within my public profile. I was assured that only I could view my ss# number and that they were "always working on security improvements."

I have requested the deletion of my account.

This website is a scam. Do not waste your time, money, or talent here.
I regret the time and effort I extended to this site.

Dear fellow writers, would be writers, or anyone considering iwriter,
Your life may be in a hectic place right now. You may need to make some money quickly from the comfort of your home or you may need piece meal income while on the road, but, this website will not help you do this. And trust me when I say, I understand this need and am not writing from a place devoid of it. I am writing this review so that I may hopefully help someone avoid an experience similar to mine.
Best Wishes,
D

Stay away from iwriter!
January 29, 2016

Iwriter admin is very discriminating against writers. Some stupid requester can give you a low rating for no reason, reject your article and even use it later it on his/her blog.
Please do not waste your precious time on iwriter. Instead make your own blog if you have a passion for writing. I did that!

I'm a professional freelance writer who connects with clients via legitimate sites like Guru, Upwork, etc. Recently I was contacted by a "client" on Guru who ultimately had me complete a few articles, then magically vanished when it came time for payment. Obviously since I provided the content, I knew how to track it down. I found the end user and told her that her content was obtained illegally. She told me she had hired a writer through iWriter.com. I submitted a complaint to iWriter but did not hear back from any humans, just their automated system. So, in the end, iWriter "writers" are stealing work from hardworking freelancers and making money off of them. Anyone who uses iWriter's services could be getting content that's obtained illegally. It's a huge scam.

My name is Carlie Stand, a level 4 textbroker writer and now a writer for iWriter with username carlie_stand.

I am utterly disappointed with iWriter's system being unfair to writers. For one month that I've been writing for them, I have encountered several instances of buyers "stealing" content.

The writer will be asked to write a job request with a timer which runs for a couple of hours, depending on the length of the article. Once they get the article, they will then "reject" the article and leave a negative feedback. The negative feedback will affect the overall rating of the writer, which lessens his writing opportunities within the site.

I have received a negative rating today (3 stars) with comment "great article. I have already receive the article I will be using." this is very unfair for the writer. Why would they leave a negative feedback if they have not used the article (to think the article is good and well-researched).

This is not the first time I've encountered this problem and I have already contacted their support for this. Their usual response is changing the rating of the buyer. Last time I got a one-star rating and explained my problem. Instead of giving a constructive reply, the support just responded "the rating has been changed" when I checked it was changed to 5 stars.

I don't need a 5-star rating. What I need is protection for me as a writer in the long run. They were not able to deliver this, unfortunately.
