I had been seeing this man for a few dates. I thought he was being kind of avoiding when asked anything personal. I had basic info. Like his cell # and his e-mail. I just didn't want to end up as a statistic. So I paid the one time fee to do a reverse phone look up and at least see that what he did say was the truth. The site gave me nothing. His phone (cell) number which I already knew. The cell phone provider. BIG DEAL! I still do not know any more than I already had for FREE!
As invasive as intellius.com can be, they have allowed me to provide information backing up my claims of being stalked. I am awaiting their decision and whether or not they will remove my data. Atleast, unlike radaris.com, they give you a chance.
Someone has tampered with my personal information and Intellius has me related to the wrong people, living in the wrong city, and I even have a new alias complete with new middle and last name - that I did not create. Nothing I can do about it, but whomever is tampering with my personal information sure can have fun.
I was fooled into buying this person search subscription by paying 1.99 and then gettng billed for 14.00 a month, but that's not the worst part. It is impossible to cancel! Noone answers the phone and the website misdirects you to pages for subscription cancellation that do not exist. I have sent multiple emails and I get an automated response that tells me I did not follow the right procedures. Where do I go from here?
A little over a year ago, I used Intellius to do a background check on a man who was interested in having a relationship with me. The check came back clear, and I let the man become involved in my life - not sexually - but as a friend. As time went on, he began to contradict himself more and more until I finally realized that almost all of what he had represented himself to be was false. I ended up in counseling and a wreck and very angry.
My counselor checked public records (I did not know anyone could do that) and this man had an EXTENSIVE criminal record (including assualts). While Intellius claims to use all public records available, they obviously do not. They have refunded what I paid for them, but I am out for the counseling fees and several months of confusion and anger.
After doing a search to find a free service to find the name of the person behind a phone number, I found Intellius which claims that their service is FREE. It is NOT. They apparently think that $1 is free. It is NOT. Free is free is free--no charge, get it? They should be investigated and penalized for this false narrative. Enough of this garbage. We used to have directory assistance which OUR TAX DOLLARS paid for. Now, those tax dollars are going to other things, not customers. This company needs to be investigated for their false claims and penalized accordingly.
I went to yellow pages to lookup my brother. It said to go to YP.com and I did so. I filled out this form and it said it would cost me a total of $6.90 so I found my brother and his familly but they would not give me the phone number and they had it. If I pay more money I could get the phone number and I got so mad I said forget it. I will try to find another way to call my brother. I found out that one of my brothers had cancer and I wanted to tell my other brother which I have not seen in some time, but I hit the wall. Well, they got my money, but I will tell everybody about the ripoff. Bye Bye
It looks to me like Intellius preys on people who are willing to pay a small fee to obtain information online. I used the service one time and discovered that I "somehow" agreed to a "trial membership" in an "Identify Theft" protection service. Intellius charged me $19.95 a month for 11 months, when my intention was to pay $11.95 for a one time service. When I called them to find out why they were charging me $19.95 a month, they said I must have agreed to a "trial" membership at the time I used their service. I am computer literate and have a masters degree in education. Chances are highly unlikely that I inadvertently enrolled in an Identify Theft protection service that I do not need as I already have Identity Theft protection through my credit card company. Warning: If you choose to use Intellius for any reason, check your bank or credit card statement monthly to ensure you didn't inadvertently join one of the "trial memberships" and are being charged $19.95 a month for as long as they can get away with it.

Beware this Scam Site - Intellius. Intellius proffers its wares as a "People Background Website". Beware, it is far from it.
Over the last five or six months, I have had to look into some activities of my ex-wife. I have also used similar 'People" search engines in my professional life as a Construction Project Manager.
I have used these types of websites, such as "My Heritage", "Archives", "Persopo", "Been Verified", etc before but never for a personal capacity.
After looking at my data for my current 'project', I recognized I needed to broaden my database of information.
Unfortunately, I chose Intellius. Please, again, beware of the fir's hype.
When I received their $ 34.95 report, I immediately recognized that this report was missing most or all of even the basic types of information, such as:
Phone Numbers
Email Addresses
Social Networks
Relatives
Marriage and Divorce information
Education
Employment
State Criminal Records
Federal Criminal Records
It was a seven page 'fluff' document costing about $ 5.00 dollars per page.
Believe me, the amount of data on each page resembles pepper sprinkled on a sheet of white paper.
So please, when you have come to a point in your life when you need up to date and accurate background information, 'run, don't walk' when you see Intellius and it's totally fabricated list of 'so-called' services.
The $ 34.95 fee is only the beginning of the letdown you will feel once you have received your 'report'.
Thanks and regards for this opportunity to report on the content involved in this very lousy scam site.
I ran a background check on myself. I will tell you for a fact, this site DOES NOT provide any information you cannot get for free on your own. Seriously, they provided lots and lots of location information about past addresses, phone numbers. But as far as criminal records or anything beyond what you have on Lindein, Facebook and other social media sites, it is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. Please don't make my mistake, save yourself the money and find an accredited background site. This one is the equivalent of a lazy worker who hurts himself on the jobsite day 2 and requests workman's comp. DON'T DO IT.
WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND WILL BILL YOU FOR SERVICES YOU DO NOT WANT AND DID NOT SUBSCRIBE TO. THEY ENGAGE IN UNFAIR AND DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES AND SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN BY THE STATE CONSUMER PROTECTOR.
Horrible, Horrible, HORRIBLE! Worst people search site i have lately had the misfortune to use. I just signed up tonight and cancelled all in 1 night. First i sign up for the 7 day FREE subscription than i buy a report which had cost 29.95. After the 7 day FREE trial they would start charging 19.95, i had just wanted to see what the website was like before i bought much. Checked my online banking and i was charged for the report AND the monthly fee that was only supposed to be charged AFTER the 7 day free trial. What bull$#*!. The 1st and only report i got was on ME. Just to see how accurate there information was.
IT WAS NOT ACCURATE at all. Yes it had the right person but my address was wrong, my work place was wrong, the owner of the property i live in (i rent) was wrong, and apparently back in 2004 i had some criminal case on me... wtf i have never even got a parking ticket or even been stopped by a cop my record is so clean.
This place makes up $#*! on your supposed reports that you buy and the rest of the information that sounds familiar can be found at many different sites FREE, this was the biggest waste of money ever. Crap! Thats all i have to say about this people-search website.
CRAP! BAD! LIARS!
Answer: Intellius did not request my cc info when I cancelled I cancelled in writing and received my refund just fine
