Easy to install. Took me about 2 hours for 4 panels that make up my single car garage door. The side pieces for the edges added more time because of all the small cuts. This wasn't needed but I wanted to cover all areas of the door. Had a slight hiccup with my order since it did not include double sided tape after a few emails to customer service I was sent a roll via FedEx. Shipping was a bit expensive but the overall quality of this product outweighed the approx $60 shipping costs to Staten Island NY.
This company is the absolute worst. I ordered about 1400 sqft of insulation. I asked them about how long to ship. They said I should receive in about 10 days. After weeks with nothing, I contacted the shipping company. They said they never received product to ship. I contacted insulation 4 less they said they found order it would arrive next week. That was a month ago. I contacted the shipping company again and they again confirmed no order had arrived to them. This company took my money and just plain ripped me off. Save yourself and go with a reputable legit company. This operation is fly by night * scam company. *Personal information redacted by admin
Easy install so far, but too early to tell what I will get for temperature control (Steel quonset building) I will find out this winter. The only thing disappointing with the prodex 10 is that the heat seam sealing doesn't work, so I had to buy a whack of reflective tape to seam the seals. It sticks in some places, in others it wont stick or it will let go after a few minutes. The metal tape works though, just an additional cost.
Tip for consumers:
After 2 Years I can say that this product works. I was told that my steel building would drip and have condensation, especially because I live in NS where there are huge temperature swings and high humidity. So far no drips, and no condensation. The building is dry and comfortable. It is also cool during our hot humid summers
Products used:
Prodex 10
95% complete.
Crawlspace in the northeast.
From sill to sill. Sealed with zip tape.
Outdoor temperature is 18°
Crawl space temperature is 57°
Note; no heat in crawl space
The floors are much warmer.
It is working, I am a satisfied customer. MB 1-4-2022
I ordered and installed Prodex 5mm Reflective Insulation 24 inch in a 12x24 foot metal storage building with a wooden frame. The insulation came Federal Express in 4-5 days and was easy to install. I believe it will work well in this construction environment that probably wouldn't be appropriate for fiberglass batting which could suffer with moisture from the Sun on the metal exterior and the cooler temperature difference in the interior.
Easy to install, goes up quick & doesn't make a mess like standard insulation
I use their products through out my projects from the crawl space and basement floors, to all my walls, and I even install it in attics.
With the use of a 320 dollar infra red imager I was able to apply this product (13/64ths) foil foam in layers and man it really stacked up. My studies show that if you use this product, the (foil foam) in layers that R values of 125 can easily be had within a 2X6 wall cavity and you cant spray foam a 2 by 6 inch stud with anything known to achieve a 125 R value. And 7 to 8 layers in the wall yielded an impressive R value of between 65 and 70. The comfort alone is worth every dime. But on top of it our house stays more moist in the winter time and was the first time our skin was not dried and itchy and no nose bleeds. I'm glad I took the time to do research on this product. From an energy efficiency stand point it is one of the best products ive every used. And lastly mastering its uses can be life changing it is not an exaggeration the thermal imager don't lie
Ordering was smooth and great, just like it's supposed to be. Can't wait to actually have product installed... if it's anything like ordering, I've hit a home run!... 4 stars just bcs. Product hasn't been installed yet.
I used the garage door kit and it worked great. Easy to install and seems to be helping keep the garage warmer. We live in the Mtns. Of New Mexico and it gets quite cold in winter.
The radiant barrier insulation these guys sell is second to none.
After installing it in our home between our electric and our gas bill we dropped around $70 in the first month (this was about a year and a half ago) and the bills have never gone back up to where they once were. Our 7 bedroom 2500sf house was killing us on AC in the summer, now the heat just doesn't penetrate the house anymore. In fact our upstairs was unusable on hot days without the AC on and now its tolerable with an occasional 15 cooling. This product does what it says.
However...
The problem with the site is not what they sell but how they market it. They will run a sale for buy 1 get 1 free but then turn around and double the price during the promotion. So they are very dishonest in that regard. I have noticed also that the price of their products an shipping keep climbing higher and higher since we installed it. So in hind-site sign up for there emails and monitor the pricing.
The trick is to start at a low temperature with your heat gun and keep increasing the temperature until you get the foam soft enough to stick. Once the foam is soft enough, you'll have no problem sealing the seam.
