The company exhibits a divided reputation, with some customers praising its supportive approach and ability to help bring ideas to market successfully, highlighting quality service and effective communication. However, a significant number of reviews express serious concerns regarding financial mismanagement, lack of responsiveness, and allegations of deceptive practices, including bankruptcy filings to evade refunds. The contrasting experiences suggest a need for improved customer service and transparency, as well as a more consistent delivery on promises, to foster trust and enhance overall satisfaction among clients.

Idea buyer has taken me from concept to prototype and market. All with efficiency and professionalism
Really talented group of professionals! They treated my idea with respect and treated me professionally. I would recommend IdeaBuyer to anybody.
Felt very comfortable right from the start! Would definitely recommend there work! They did exactly what they said they would do!
Eric and his team did such a wonderful job for my group! Thank you so much we will definitely use you again.
This company offers very high quality work - I have been very impressed. It is some of the best quality I have seen. However, you do have to be patient when developing and working to patent an idea.
At first, I thought I could just patent my idea. They told me no, and I had to come back to them three times before they thought I was ready and I had something truly unique.
Then, I had to show them that I was not only committed to the project and understood the risks, but that I was financially capable of working with them. That was actually refreshing.
They are big on doing things right and taking time to make sure things are in the best interest long term. I had assumed I could patent right away, but as I learned, you have to have something unique developed to be able to file a patent.
So, just understand that this is a process, not something overnight. They explained it very well to me (almost too many times), but I can understand there are a lot of people out there that dont get that it takes a lot of work!
I started with these guys in November 2017- since then I have received Stellar service and exceptional help with my business, yes the upfront payment was steep, but nothing is free and if you think they are scammers then take your services elsewhere. I am super excited to continue working with Idea Buyer and look forward to having my products in stores soon!
I wish I could go back five years and work with them when they made me an offer the first time around! I messed up and now they are getting me back on course.
I shouldn't be saying this because I work for a competitor but these guys are the real deal. They run circles around what we can do. Now, I just wish I could get a job with them.
Of course I'll review you guys! :) They helped me sell my patent for $300,000. Wouldn't have happened without IdeaBuyer.com.
It took me about 9 months but I licensed my patent to the largest power tool manufacturer with them. It surely would not have happened without them.
I had an idea of something and everybody was telling me to patent and market it but I had no clue how to do that.
Mr. Corl was very kind to me on the phone even though I didn't have any funds when I first spoke to him. His advice helped me get back on my feet and I can't wait to hopefully work with them in the future.
A real pleasure to work with Idea Buyer; I recommend Idea Buyer to others wishing to explore invention ideas!
If you have an idea dont waste your time. They said they liked my idea, then asked if I had $35k to get it started and a patent etc. I said no thats why I contacted your company. They said ok well call us back when have funds to move forward.
I sold my stuff on eBay, and the buyer send me the payment I thought the PayPal was gonna auto connect the money but I found out after they send me a email and said the buyer cancel the payment and I have to set up a bussness account well that's too late, cuz the buy has already cancelled the payment and the stuff it's already shipped
Jinhui, I'm sorry to hear of your mishap on eBay, however, Idea Buyer has not purchased anything from a seller on eBay. I believe you may have us mistaken with someone else.
I have no complaints right now. They were helpful in the contract area and for launching the invention
I submit the information for my patented installation system for the Building Industry and received no response. I reached out via the contact us field/form on the website and sent two direct e-mails to an individual recommended on their voicemail. Still no response. They had no problem charging me through PayPal.
Hi Charles - I believe you received a full refund, correct? You had purchased a listing service and due to a technical error, we refunded your listing fees. I want to make sure you received that from Paypal.
Answer: No, they have just taken our money :(

Answer: Here is a quick excerpt from the guide; What is Patent Licensing? Legally speaking, you have licensed your patent when you (the licensor) grant exploitation rights over your patent to a licensee (the person you are licensing it to.) Exploitation rights simply means the right to create, market, and/or sell something based on what that patent protects. A license of this nature is also a legal contract, and that contract is what will spell out in concrete terms precisely which exploitation rights are being granted. These include any performance obligations the licensor might demand of the licensee. This means that if any performance obligations are included in the contract (ie, You must produce X number of sales by the year X.), and they are not met, this could lead to the patent licensing being terminated in its entirety. In this context, a license is also revocable ie, cancellable if certain terms and conditions are not met. This is a common characteristic of legal contracts in general, with special ramifications for patent licenses. The only way to grant someone irrevocable exploitation rights, it should be added, is to assign them the patent. Assignments, however, are permanent. They entail the sale or outright transfer of the patent by the assignor to the assignee. An in-depth exploration of patent assignments is beyond the scope of this article, but just know that they are an option if irrevocable exploitation rights are something you seek.) We hope that is helpful.
Answer: Hi Nick, We are a vertically integrated team that can do everything from engineering, IP protection, and production quality prototypes to getting purchase orders from major retailers.
Answer: Hi Ashley, First, you want to make sure your product is unique and solves a problem. Then, you want to research the market and make sure it is unique and growing. If it meets those first two criteria, it may make sense to continue further. You'll want to look at the complexity of getting it produced and competing products in the market. If it isn't reasonable that you could work with companies to get it to the point of a production quality prototype then it may not make sense to move forward. You'll want to work with a team that understands the importance of protecting your IP (and the steps needed to get their with engineering) and the commercial viability of your potential product.
Answer: All of the products we work with are new products. I hope that answers your question.
Answer: Hi Gilles, Do you have a patent, inventory, and existing sales?
Answer: Extremely expensive & required up front
Answer: Thank you
Idea Buyer is the #1 ranked new product development company in the United States.
Idea Buyer partners with entrepreneurs to help them turn ideas into businesses. The company is based out of Dublin, OH, and was founded by serial entrepreneur Eric Corl in 2007. The company has been recognized three times as one of America's fastest growing privately held companies in the United States by Inc Magazine. Idea Buyer has also received recognition from the likes of Entrepreneur.com, The US Chamber of Commerce, Bloomberg, the White House, and more.
Eric Corl states, "The more we've grown, the more success we've had, the more we've learned from our failures and successes. We've become more and more selective of our partners given the nearly 40 bad ones we've had over 12 years. Our satisfaction rating is over 97% but that 3% really frustrate me because our team works so hard on every project. We would rather not work with you than have any chance that there are issues six months in. Some people...
Hi Mike,
That actually sounds like good advice! Don't start before you are prepared! We have thousands of people contact us per month. We work with less than 1% of them. One requirement we have is that anyone we work with must have realistic resources set aside to launch their business. For select businesses, we discount our services in exchange for upside but there is always a financial requirement. Starting a business is risky and takes time and money. We are not Santa Clause and just as you wouldn't expect to get groceries for free, it isn't fair for you to expect us to provide services to you for free. We hope you understand.
