I too was a "victim" of the employee embezzlement problem at HotelPower.com. Room was cancelled upon checking in to the resort. After getting back I got in touch with Casey from said company. He in turn was able to ease my dissatisfaction by refunding me with the difference in price i paid for my trip. I would say once they get their issue handled they should be a great site to use for booking trips.

Similar to other reviews, they take your payment, give a confirmation to the hotel booking, then cancel just before the scheduled stay. In my case, the email was the night before my stay. The hotel has no obligation or authority here as the booking was done through a third party. I was already in Las Vegas at the Red Rock hotel check-in before it came to my attention. It was late, past business hours. I could not get in touch with anyone from HotelPower - not that it would have done any good; this was not a mistake, it was a scam. With suitcases in hand, I ended up paying $600+ for one night out of pocket until I could regroup the next morning. In this case, it was good to be an American Express customer. They were extremely helpful in submitting a claim for this. I did end up getting my money back from my credit card, less the $600 I had to pay for the first night. Don't do business with this company. These reviews and complaints have been occurring for some time now; I can't believe this company is still able to operate.
Your company responded to my 1 star review as if you guys were trying to make things right. Seriously bogus! You've done nothing to assist me. You've been using this employee embezzlement story for years! Stop ripping people off. You guys are seriously ruining people's lives. Everyone doesn't have money to just pay again for hotel accommodations. Is anyone out there with me willing to speak up? Report this company, class action lawsuit needs to be started. Called the number provided at 9:04 (see screen shot - time zone difference shows time of call as one hour earlier than it actually was). Was told they had a "problem" completing my order and that they didn't have the room for that rate anymore.

They ruined my honeymoon and embezzled $1300! We booked our dream room June 21st, and found out july 24th that our reservation was canceled. Of course the room we reserved was no longer available. Do NOT trust them with your vacation plans.

They sent me a letter a month before my trip claiming they were victims of embezzlement. Somehow as a result my reservation was cancelled. I booked in May for $426 for two nights for a special event-called hotel to see if I could re-book... now going for over $1,000/night! Your 'embezzlement' scheme is not my problem. I want my money back!

I made a reservation for Destin for 2 nights. The day before the trip they cancel the reservation because I did not send them a copy of my government ID or passport along with a copy of the credit card. They don't need that information, the hotel will get that when we check in. When I called to inquire why they cancelled, JOHN tried to sell me the same trip for twice the money. Stating they couldn't reverse the cancellation. Don't fall for their scam!

Rude customer service. Total lack of communication and they make it IMPOSSIBLE to cancel or modify a reservation. I wish TRIVAGO would stop displaying their prices so no one else gets duped by this company. They'll never get my business again (not that they even care).

I could have given Zero star if the site had not selected one for me. The prices on Hotelpower.com can not be trusted. After I completed credit card information and booked, received a notification that something went wrong and I should call their 1-866 number. They wasted my time fon the phone for another 20 minutes. They did not honor the price they had posted. My credit card was charged and then refunded. It was a mess. Stay away from this site.
Book a room, received confirmation from HotelPower.com, called the hotel to confirm and no record of the reservation. Come to find out the hotel has been sold out for months. HotelPower.com charges my credit card twice (pending charges) and they send me an email stating they gave me a full refund but they only refunded one of the charges and the other posted. This company should not be allowed to do business and if I ever run into the owner I will throat punch him/her!

Booked a room in California a month out had confirmation (*******) number. When we arrived at hotel in late evening (11:00) found out that hotelpower never forwarded the reservation. The hotel was sold out along with all the hotels in the area.
Finally found another place to stay around 1:00 am by driving around. Paid out of pocket for the new room.
Been attempting communication since June for resolution. They say they will get back with an answer and then do not respond. Phone just rings and emails are not any better. Don't use this service.

Don't use hotelpower.com. Even with a confirmation number you may be out of luck and left on your own.

Read the other reviews. The same story. But in my case, they cancelled the same day as check-in. I got the email from hotel power with that "embezzlement scheme" a few hours before check-in. I actually read it at the hotel front desk right after they told me my booking was cancelled. SCAM SCAM SCAM.

All US Armed Forces and anyone else who doesnt like thieves or scam artists. If you work for this company you also condone this behavior... you are also thieves. Please be advised... this company took 3,100.00 from an old man. No refund, no charge back available because they've already taken it out of his debit, no room just a promise to call us back( we are still waiting on that call) Leaving him without a room last minute and no way to recoup his losses.

I made a reservation with them gave them my credit card, got a confirmation number and to my surprise when I tried to check in at the hotel the agent could not find my reservation, I had kids with me and were very tired from the flight. I called Hotelpower they kept hanging up on me few times. Please book directly with the hotel. Do not use this fake lousy company. Thanks God I had enough money to pay for the room that cost me 3 times what they coded me.
I will be contacting Business Bureau to find out about this fake company.

If I could rate zero stars, I would. Please DO NOT fall for this scam. I've been one to look past uncalled for angry online reviews, but I swear that's not what this is. I booked a hotel in Philly and the hotel had no record of it. On top of this, they had no rooms available so I was homeless for the night. My card was already charged so I lost 150+ bucks. The hotel kept trying to call them and they eventually hung up on the hotel. I emailed this atrocious company numerous times, in weeks to come, and they kept saying they "would get back to me." 4 months have gone by. Enough said. STAY AWAY.

Went through Trivago and got to hitleposer.com. Booked a hotel in NYC on 1/5/2019. Our plans changed and on the same day I tired to cancel and their system would not allow it. As their call center was closed I immediately sent an email. They did not return my email or call after multiple requests. I did contact their call center and they refused to cancel my reservation. And indicated I had to do this on their website... which still said not able to cancel due to error.!
I called the hotel directly. They did have my reservation and said there was no problem canceling as long as it was done within 2 days of arrival ( March 22 is still far away). I sent another email to the company stating this. Further I stated I would contact my bank, the Better business bureau, and travel sites with reviews. Amazingly in received a call from a very nice guy, Milan, who really took initiative to resolve this situation. He did contact the hotel and I did get an email stating that I would receive a full refund within 5 - 10 business days. That is pending as of this review.
So the bottom line, they did have the best rate and my reservation was confirmed and correct with the hotel. And, the communication and customer service fell painfully below my minimum expectations.

Booked a room for a concert weekend. In Boulder, CO. Arrived to hotel and none of the 4 rooms we reserved were booked. Hotel Power took our money a month before and four families had to scramble to find an overpriced rooms elsewhere. Hotel said they put in for refund and ten days later nothing.

They pick up the phone instantly if you press 1 (new booking), however, they never pick up the phone if you choose the customer service option.
I played the stubborn game until they picked up. When they found out that I wanted to cancel due to the discrepancies between what they offered and what I have gotten, they blatantly hung up the phone on me.
Luckily we live in a fair country. I called my bank, and they instantly canceled my car, so the charge doesn't go through.

The customer service try to be very nice and helpful but they are so dishonest. They didn't tell me about resort fee & I was told that parking was free which I made sure with the agent. But I got charged for the resort fee and the parking of $109.98.
It's really hard to talk to a manager, they will tell you that you will get a call which you never.
