I regret the day I contacted this company. My appointment was canceled and rescheduled 3 times and when I decided enough was enough they refused to issue a refund. I paid a $35.00 deposit and because I was fed up with the constant rescheduling they refused to issue my refund stating "it doesn't work like that. I can't speak to the quality of the work because the installer never made it to the work site. I wouldn't trust them. Totally unprofessional.

THE HANDYMAN FROM HELL
August 20, 2017

I called this man to replace cabinets in my kitchen and fix the plumbing from a pipe leak and he did not give me a estimate. The following day he came over unannounced tore down my kitchen and wanted more money. After tearing down the kitchen he did not return the following day. On Saturday my brother and I decided to fix the mess he made and he showed up. He first of all asked for money and I asked him to finish the job. He proceded to do the work, worked for about 2 hours and then left to eat lunch. When he returned I gave him some money and asked him to complete the job. He stormed into the kitchen and back yard and picked up his tools and QUIT. His name is IVAN KOCHERGIN don't use him!

This site is pretty useless. I created an account and posted a project, but not a single contractor has responded. It's a simple project (drywall repair and painting of a living room), so it's not like the job is too complicated. Of the contractors that supposedly "match" my project, when I tried contacting them via the site, I get routed to HomeAdvisor.com, which is another lame site. Finally you get to a "request direct quote" button, or something named like that, and still no one responds. I've "directly contacted" three possible contractors and not a single one has responded. In one case, I've been waiting for over a month, so the delay can't be attributed to the holiday season.

My other huge complaint about the site is, once you post your project you're brought to a page of "local contractors" that match the criteria of your project. Now, I live in Arlington MA and the list of contractors on that page were from Florida, California, and Virginia. No where near my location and completely irrelevant to my needs.

Also, at the Handyman.com site, there's no way to directly contact customer support. The only option is to send an email, but you have to pick your subject and they only offer the subjects of "Partner with us" or "Become a contractor." Like I said, lame site and no customer support. Don't bother - go directly to Yelp and search for real contractors with real reviews.

I bought an installation package for Christmas lights through Walmart. I made three different appointments with three no shows each of which I emptied out my day so I could be available to instruct the "Handyman" on how I wanted my lights installed. The first time I called Handyman and they had the attitude of "Here is the handy man's number- you call and the two of you figure it out". I was confused because I didn't hire this person directly, I made the purchase with the Handyman company. I was thinking "Shouldn't they be involved in communicating with the person they hired"? After the second guy didn't show up after clearing out my second day I called Handyman again. This time I talked to someone I could not understand as we was probably on the other side of the planet. He kept saying I should call the Handyman that they hired and he didn't want to get involved. After I called Handyman back and said I couldn't get the installer to answer the phone he said rest assured the next appointment will be on time and will show up. I asked him how can I rest assured and what are you doing differently than before to confirm that they will be here next time? His response didn't make sense and basically there was a language barrier and he didn't know what I was saying, he just kept reading off generic apologies and reaffirmation that didn't make sense. It sounded like he was just reading lines off a foreign language to him. Long story short the next appointment was a no show and Handyman again didn't take any responsibility and I cancelled my order.

I do not understand how Walmart can support/give business to this company. Every-time I brought up an issue to Handyman their response was "That is your problem, you call the installer". I would think that they should be responsible on which installers/contractors they choose to do business with and they should stand by how they use and not be hands off.

He was on time for he job. Work on it till it was done. Did a very good job. Clean up after himself and haul it off with him. ALL WAS WELL DONE

Price was a little on the high side $$$

Hired a plumber. Called the day before to make sure I had everything he needed very sarcastic said I don't know.
Showed up next day came to my door and I showed him what needed to be done.
He then says to me you have two bathroom I said I just shows them to you. Then he says where do you want me to start. I said sir anywhere you want I just need the job done.
As it turns I had to run to a local manufactured home supply and get a sink when I came back he was seating in his car. He put the bathroom sink in half way threw came and asked me to put more time on the computer I then said how long were you seating in your car? He never fixed either shower.
I said when your done with the sink your done. I'm not putting any more time on.
Then the next day I noticed a leak under the sink he installed!
Then two of my rings that were on my nightstand are gone conCoincidence? I tried calling this company nobody calls you back they gave me $35.00 Credit! You have to be kidding me. Had real plumber here fixed the showers the leak under sink with no problem. Don't ever use this company!
Awlful Experience! Never never again!

To start we get a date to begin, schedule time off. Got a phone call verifying they would be there, told the gal yes I'm scheduled and waiting on them. Come that Monday no show. So we call, she tells us it's the next week and makes it sound like we are idiots and had wrong day. That should have been a clue. Then when the guys show (instead of that Monday morning it was around 4 pm) all they did was rip out the old shower. Then they started installing the next day. Then the next day put enclosure on and the caulking. Now I bought good caulk (gorilla brand) because we wanted to have no problems in the future. Well all they did was run bead no smoothing out even like the product says to do. So then we have leak around enclosure and around the shower looked crappy. We called and since then they were out two more times. Granted no leaks but two days later caulk is bubbling. Never heard back from the gal who wanted our money and never heard from the guy who came out to give quote. You would think he'd come back to see if we were happy. All we get is a bill and because the wife told this gal the first time we had the leak we should be getting 10% or more knocked off this bill. So the bill comes and it's@ $50 less. That's it. Still no show or call from these people to see if we are happy with the job or look to actually see what the problem is. Really? Oh I didn't mention that when they came back to recaulk they didn't use the stuff I bought they used cheaper stuff... maybe why it's bubbling at the door of the shower? I'm not happy with using handyman. We get what we paid for I guess. We had a different quote for about $800 more but it would more than likely had been done right. I will check with my credit card and see what I can do as far as disputing this if that's the only way to go. But they should make it right. We'll see what happens.
