It helped me tremendously write work emails, business reports, and even text messages. I have more confidence in all my writings, and Grammarly is one productive tool I cannot live without each day. I subscribed to the Premium membership, which is well worth the investment. Keep up all your great work.
Even though I pride myself in my writing skills, I have loved using Grammarly every day since installing it. It is like a boost of confidence when writing those important papers and the responses to requests for information. I think I've even learned a thing or two from Grammarly!
Not helpful at all. I would say, worse than this. I purchased the premium version. Their wording suggestions are out of context, so they correct from right to wrong... absolutely useless!
This company is a fraud. They charged 1 year subscription renewal without notice. This is the worst practice ever. I never authorized the subscription I sign for 1 year without renewal.
No customer support, they don't answer messages.
Give my money back scammers!
Only a complete imbecile would put their faith in Grammarly like it's some kind of sacred artifact. Anyone who relies on a mindless computer program to enhance their writing is simply deceiving themselves. The program is utterly incapable of grasping the subtle nuances of language that a genuine human being can. It's akin to asking a monkey to pen a masterpiece - a laughable concept. And if you believe that it provides any legitimate sense of security, you're living in a fantasy world. Don't be lazy - if you want to progress as a writer, you need to put in the hard work yourself. Depending on some foolish program will only result in you becoming a more pathetic writer over time.
Grammarly charged my card 140 for a year subscription without my knowledge or permission. They "renewed" it, but I never signed up for another year or automatic renewals. Now I'm stuck paying for a service that I don't even have access to. It charged me but still asked me if I would like to upgrade to premium. And the customer service is awful and mostly non-existent, if you call the number they tell you to go to the website and then end the call. I want my card information taken off of my account but it feels impossible to do. Ugh, so frustrated! Grammarly does not give any form of refund.

The only thing that the free version does is spelling and punctuation check. But little does Grammarly know, almost computers already have that built into it. I typed the exact same text filled with errors on two different documents and used Grammarly for one and the google docs spell check for the other. When I finished, the two documents were identical. And if you want it to do more than that, you can pay 30 bucks a month to get a bunch of options that you really don't need anyway. Don't waste your money, don't waste your time. Delete Grammarly.
1. Quite often, I have to doubleclick to take over a correction of grammarly. 2. The green symbol too often appears where I want to write. Throw it away! We want the service, not your self-presentation. 3. Stay away from youtube! I hate your adverts!
I am disappointed at Grammarly's way to do business. I needed to update my form of payment. The payment on the renewal page showed $69.97 I entered my new card info and as soon as I het "send" Grammarly confirm pricing for $139.95 Really? The way the info is presented is misleading. Such a poor business practice. They will tell me to be on the outlook for promos. That is not the point. Customers must know how much they will be charged IN ADVANCED, and not after the fact.

Grammarly told me that I had significant plagiarism in my paper, but would not let me see it unless I set up a payment plan. When I went to a different plagiarism checker, it told me that my paper was 100% unique. Why do you have to lie to us to get us to buy your services. That is so messed up. I do not like Grammarly anymore, and at all cost avoid it, because I do not know anymore if they are telling me the truth about my writing or not.
They are cutting monthly payment from your bank account even if you used their service for one time only. They didn't reply to the refund requests.
I contacted them for a refund but they are ignoring the requests.
Don't trust them.
I bought grammarly for a year. I only had 1 year left of school. When the billing came around again they charged me. I couldn't afford it. I tried to dispute the charge. The royally destroyed me. I can't afford to buy food this month now because of this 200$ charge. Thank you Grammarly for nothing I thought you were suppose to help students.
Tip for consumers:
Make sure to cancel your sub right after you buy!

Grammarly is an overrated place of scams. The ads are 100% FALSE, and they don't even give correct suggestions. If you want to have your writing checked, PLEASE find another place because this was a waste of my money and time.
I tried to cancel the subscription before the trial ends but i couldn't find the cancellation link anywhere. Then my card got charged $139.95. I didn't know what to do so i contacted my tech savvy friend and he came across this post from grammarly (picture attached). Somehow he managed to cancel the subscription the same day the charge was posted. I initiated a dispute with the credit card company but grammarly wouldn't refund my money. What an easy trick to steal hard earned money. Specially since this is a service mostly used by students, who easily become prey. If this is not fraud i don't know what is.
Tip for consumers:
Do not sign up for this service to test. You will end up paying even if you don't like the service. Free period is how they get you.

Allow us to clarify: Grammarly subscriptions automatically renew until they are canceled, and subscriptions that aren't canceled before the start of a new billing cycle will be charged for a new subscription period.
Please also note that, unfortunately, we don't offer a free trial for individual subscriptions at this time. However, we do offer a free version of our product that includes essential Grammarly functionality. We believe that this is a more effective way to allow users to become familiar with Grammarly than a free trial.

Why don't you give simple instructions on how to use the darn thing? It's not doing me any good as I can't figure out how to get it to check anything I have written, especially in Pages. Sure glad I didn't pay for the upgraded version!

The corrections that Grammarly suggests are largely BS. There are many free programs that do the same for free. If you have Microsoft word, there is no reason for you to get Grammarly. I paid for one month to check it out and apparently I got charged for 3 months because they hid in their terms of service that if you don't cancel your subscription they continue charging you. They spend all their money on advertising and obviously very little on their good for nothing program. Do yourself a favor and do not get scammed.
I have a canceled subscription, but was charged for the renewal. I've disputed through my credit card company, and then was charged again. I've tried to contact Grammarly, but had to download the app and login. My account shows no active subscription, but yet I got charged. I've opened a case with them. They don't have a live contact. Beware!.
I have been testing Free Grammarly for about a week now, primarily with previously-proofed manuscript chapters. I wanted to see if it was worth the investment. However, I have found significant flaws, and more than one outright deception.
Without upgrading, the preferences for creative writing are locked, which means that colloquial dialog is constantly flagged. The algorithm appears to be comma-crazy too. Commas everywhere, and my editor agrees this is nonsense.
But let's discuss that Premium grammar checker.
I stumbled onto this by accident when Grammarly decided to promote their Premium fixes on one of my chapters. (By the way, the 'promotion' brought my $1400 laptop to a crawl.) First thing it did was flag every quotation mark. Every one of them. 88!
I thought this was a font issue and changed it but to no avail. I thought indentations might work, but Grammarly doesn't indent and the Premium flags indentation. Not convenient.
The most insidious discovery was how Grammarly hides some of the free feature fixes from me and reserves them for Premium, such as extra commas, commas a professional publishing editor said were unnecessary. I discovered this by fiddling around on the page promoting the Premium and watching the number of fixes rise or drop depending on what I did. Should I pay $25 a month for fixes my editor would delete?
The final thing I did was to paste in Chapter 1 of The Great Gatsby. Grammarly only found 41 grammatical errors ("To-day", for instance, which still flags as an error on their 'web checker'. I shall uninstall it in a few minutes).
Now, if ol' Scott Fitzgerald would only upgrade to Premium they offer an additional 81 fixes that will make his story-telling shine!
This product is most-deservingly NOT recommended.
Simply do favor to your self and use other free tools such as Microsoft Word.
This is useless and expensive. And it makes your writing have no sense.
Hope this helps someone.
I purchased Grammarly and immediately realized it wouldn't work for me. The initial document I needed to check was 735 pages in length and grammarly will only check 40 pages at a time (they state 60 but it could only check 40). Within 30 minutes of purchasing it I tried contacting the company through the support system and received an automated reply that they didn't issue refunds. I would be willing to pay for a month but would like the balance of the annual payment refunded. There is no option to speak with the billing department - either in person or by email. Additionally, I wasn't able to upload my receipt.

Hi Colleen,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience. Let us note that we do not provide phone support at this time, but please don’t misunderstand this as any lack of interest! We focus on providing high-quality responses by email, so you’re always talking to a human that can help first-hand.
Per your request, we have already refunded the initial payment. The refund will appear on your credit card within the next 10 business days.
For your future reference, currently, you can check up to 100,000 characters including spaces at a time using the Grammarly Editor. If you work on a PC, we suggest that you use Grammarly for Microsoft Office to check documents that exceed this limitation. This product will allow you to check your texts directly from within Word or Outlook.
Best wishes,
Grammarly support team
Grammarly advertises as free but when you get there it asks for money and doesn't do any of the stuff it is supposed to!
I have apparently had this product for a year and found very little use in it. The suggestions that Grammarly provides are often contextually incorrect or basic typos that could be addressed with a standard spellchecker.
The bigger issue is their unethical subscription practices. When enrolling in the service, it appears that the annual subscription will be billed monthly, and you will be given an option to renew your subscription at the end of the year. This is not the case. The exorbitant annual fee is instead charged in full with your first payment. At the end of the year, you are not given any warning or notice that your account will be automatically renewed. No refunds are issued. I am now stuck with this useless product for another year. Don't be like me. Don't fall for this product. I wholly regret it.
I signed up for Grammarly thinking it would help correct my spelling cause my big fingers push the wrong letters and I have to go back and correct my sentences. Since I downloaded the app it's three times worse and it actually changes the correct word into words that don't exist, everytime I spell Russia it changes it to Prussia, either this app is just a joke or they are doing it on purpose to get me to upgrade to premium.

Good Evening, I see the advertisements all the time and I was writing my college essay and I thought going through it would be a good idea, better than google docs checking. I opened up my Grammarly tab and I read over it multiple times. I wrote one sentence saying "Being able to perform was my way out." Grammarly changed it to PEOPLE. Instead of being. I am furious. I am angry. I better get into college and if not Grammarly will be paying for my life. Thank You. Have a Good day.
