I use the app almost every time I need gas. I search Current Location—or anywhere else. Sometimes I'll check a location I plan to visit in case gas is cheaper there. Today, just now, I paid 20¢/gallon less because I searched my current location and found Power Plus Automotive in Belmont, MA was that much less than my go-to, Watertown Gas. The stations are ~equidistant but I would have driven a little further to save the $2.80. At least as of this writing, I have only encountered one incorrect price—the price I paid was less. (This actually happened today.) I didn't know I could Favorite stations until I read someone else's review. (Heart upper right corner but sometimes the heart doesn't seem to appear.) Based on reviews, I'll skip the GasBuddy card, at least until more issues are resolved. It doesn't seem consistent, often defaults to "credit" price, and issues with double billing or inability to use the card.
Drove 30 minutes to get Diesel at Valero/Anthem Oil at 2490 N. Tustin St. In Orange, CA, as Gas Buddy said it was much cheaper there. Arrived and found out it was $1 a gallon more than stated. Worker said they didn't know anything about it. To top it off, when I filled up they put a $175 hold on my credit card. Go elsewhere!

Basically, this company is a business to steal your money, is a common practice. This is how they make their money.
I would estimate that at least 75% of people posting gas prices in Wichita have not been anywhere near a gas station that they posted a price for. What this means to the person using gasbuddy to find gas will more than likely go to a station that one of the gasbuddy liars has posted and find that the gas price at the station is totally wrong.
Tip for consumers:
That more than likely you will become very mad at the false prices posted.

Nothing.
It's bad enough with all the liars posting, but now I can't seem to get points even though I am very close to the station I am posting. Another thing bad about gasbuddy is that as you travel most of the time gasbuddy does not show you the neatest gas station even though you have it set by distance.
Tip for consumers:
Do not count on the prices being posted.

All I can say is that gasbuddy allows people to post prices on the web with no proof they were ever at the gas station. Some people post numerous gas stations during one minute. The gas stations are more than a mile apart. Can you go to 3 gas stations that are each a mile apart in 1 minute? I think not. Yet they get points for doing this.
Tip for consumers:
That gasbuddy allows liars to post gas prices.

I used the site to buy gas. However when I went to the lowest priced station minutes after it was posted, the price was wrong. This happens all the time.
They get your bank info and after a month of excuses the send no card. Scam site stay away bad customer service
Generally very good, I do recommend it to others. With the favorites, I am able to check several stations I use frequently. Occasionally, the pump price varies from the app. This is mostly because other users don't update and verify the prices on the app. It's simple to do and you do recieve bonus points for helping track prices.
A few days after using GasBuddy, my credit card that I rarely use was compromised. Coincidence? I don't know, but the horrible reviews make me think GasBuddy is a shady operation.
I have used the gas buddy app for a few years now and have saved multiple times. A very useful tool for saving $. Unfortunately not very impressed with the local Tim Horton locations being listed along with the gas stations, how is this relevant on a gasoline comparison app? Very disappointing, if I want coffee, I'll go to the coffee app.
Not sure who's posting prices here ( could be station's owners to lure customers?), but information, at least central NJ, 99% inaccurate.
Just tried using this app and the card stopped working while I was at a pump. It is not updated, even if it states it was 2 to 4 hrs ago, it will be more at the pump. Just stick to Waze app. I would not recommend gas buddy be used by anyone. A total incompetent app! You have been warned and I hope it helps someone use any other alternative. I enclose a photo of my receipt before it stopped working at any other pump or even gas station?
GasBuddy shows $4.23 / gallon at the Riverwoods gas station on Knott Rd, but that is NOT correct. When I drove there specifically due to the price, I found out that it was actually $4.59 / gallon. The gas attendant said, "GasBuddy needs to update and correct what they're posting."
Tip for consumers:
Review only. Quit trying to sell stuff.

Pulling a 5th wheel needing diesel, tried 3 different times on trip, last stop said $4.79, wind all around through city streets on to find it $5.49, headed back to the highway on our own and it's 29 cents cheaper. So frustrating, won't use the site again while traveling.
Went to a station because of gas buddy price. Get there and it is higher for both midgrade and premium. Corrected the prices. It stuck for about 5 seconds and the reverted to wrong price. Tried three times. Every time it reverted to wrong price after about 5 seconds. Can't trust it.
Tip for consumers:
Inaccurate. Defeats the whole purpose
Seems like my account is not working now. I have done everything you asked. Now if you could fix this it would be greatly appreciated. I am a Regional manager for a pharmaceutical company. My company has thousands of GasBuddy accounts. If mine can't get be fixed I am going to have the company discontinue all GasBuddy accounts losing your company hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Silly that you would want this instead of fixing an account which had been with you for years. Simply because one of your employees bullied my nephew who is autistic. I will make sure many people hear about this. They employ immature people like Cady and Nychole who like bullying people.
Absolutely the worst company. Simply find another company is my advice.

I went to a gas station because gasbuddy had it listed there with a good price. When I got there, the gas was much more expensive, so I tried to put in the correct price, but the app wouldn't accept it. I "thought I'd try out the "right price" icon just for curiosity sake, and the app immediately accepted it! Talk about a scam; once I inadvertently confirmed the WRONG price, it was impossible to change it! Such a scam; obviously the gas companies and gasbuddy are colluding.
It is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to ever reach someone in customer service. If you call the toll free number on the gas buddy card it is answered by a robot and no matter what your needs/situation may be you can NEVER speak to a live person, and every message you send using their app is returned using a bot message. I updated my bank information five days ago and they still haven't linked my new account to my gas buddy card. Really, in the 21st Century where computers run everything and anything is instantly available with the push of a button. Absolutely ridiculous!
They say you can redeem your rewards for gift cards, but make it impossible to "confirm" the order of the gift card. Apple should remove this fraudulently company from the App Store. They just want to sell your information and pretend they're saving you money. Worthless, piece of crap company.

Avoid at all costs.

This site is a total waist of time and money. You find a so called good deal on fuel and when you get there the price is not the same. For example, today I looked for the best price of diesel in my area. Found a wawa at 339, upon arrival it was 30 cents more. I drove out of my way to get this false deal and used extra fuel that ended up costing me more money. This site should be eliminated or at least come up with a better way of reporting fuel prices. I'm deleting this app from my phone.
No matter how many times you call, you're in an endless loop of automated prompts. There seems to be no way to bypass and speak with an agent apparently. I've made several attempts to use the card and it never goes through. My issue could probably be easily resolved if I had the opportunity to speak with a live person instead of listening to a useless recording.
We just drove 10 miles out of our way because Mobile advertised 3.62. When we got there it was 377. I suspect that the business has people constantly updating their gas price to something outrageously low just to get customers to drive there.
I have used my card 5x now and have had no issues. It took about 6 weeks for the whole process to set up. They make deposits then it takes about a month to get the card. Once the card is activated they will take those deposits back out. The only thing I dont like is it takes 3-5 business days for the payment to process through your bank account. Just have to keep good track of your spending to avoid overdraft. Ill keep using it. Total savings so far is $6.50.
Gasbuddy sends you a debit card that gets linked to your bank account: don't do it! The savings are 20-70 cent per 20 gallons of fuel. Not worth it, because they will charge your account with random charges. I complained after they charged my bank account twice for gas that I did not buy. I complained - and they didn't even read my email, but simply sent a copy & paste email back. I sent multiple emails asking when and where my card was charged (when I use it, I get an email with transaction details, but when they post fraudulent charges, there is no email with details), but they simply ignore me.
I filed with BBB.
Do NOT allow this scam company access to your bank account.
Tip for consumers:
use the app for gas prices, it's sometimes wrong, but often helpful,
but to NOT use any of Gas Buddy's financial products, the company is a scam

Safeway treats this card like a credit card. I got charged 10 cents more so my savings for the first time usage was 5 cents. If i use my debit card there is no upcharge. Your card should be treated the same as a debit card because the charge goes directly to my ckg acct, I do not think Safeway is paying a fee for this card as they do other credit cards.
Not reliable. Some of the people post wrong information while sitting home to get gas buddy free rewards. Actual prices at the locations are always different. Gas stations change correct prices but these toppers on the list reporting gas prices somehow reflect wrong and always higher prices which is detrimental to businesses because they lose customers. We own a gas station. Whenever we change prices, someone changes it back to the same old price. And even review the business without even visiting the store probably.
GasBuddy lets you search for Gas Prices by city, state, zip code, with listings for all cities in the USA and Canada. Updated in real-time, with national average price for gasoline, current trends, and mapping tools.
