I got hired by one of g2's managers and they set me up on a platform for app reviews. They gave me an account with money in it to purchase the apps and do the reviews. Then it got to a point where the money that they gave me wasn't enough and for me to finish that quote of that day I had to put in a little of my own money. Next thing you know back and forth to the bank sending Bitcoin to a manager's Bitcoin address and just totally ripping old people off and I think G2 is completely and totally behind it because when I went to them and messaged them they absolutely did not care they did not respond they had absolutely no sympathy
G2 Crowd publishes companies names without permission and then accepts reviews from people about that company. None of this is too bad until they start publishing those reviews and sending people that might be interested in your products to other companies who are paying them to hijack any parties that might be interested in your company's products.
See the example provided for Salesforce. Although you are actually researching one company, the website immediately starts hijacking you to alternatives including their AI immediately prompting you to consider the company's that have paid them to generate leads. If you didn't ask to be on this site, then G2 Crowd can't be using your company as a way to generate leads for other companies and benefit. I'm not sure that is legal.
Recently, we "Claimed" our product that was listed without our permission and were horrified to find that the "Contact Seller" button that was plastered all over our information page tells the user that we are not available! So while you might be interested in Salesforce, and the site lists a Contact Seller button, they will not forward that interest to you but instead, continue to advertise the company's who are sponsoring them to generate leads. To stop G2 from telling the interested user that you are not available you need to upgrade your plan! Even if you never asked for a plan to begin with.
This is not a "Review Site". It is a paid lead generation site masquerading as a review site. It lists companies and pays users to add reviews so that other companies can benefit from the traffic it drives and pay G2 Crowd for that lead generation. Is it illegal? It's hard to say. Is it a scam? If you are not paying them, then yes, it's an attempt to use your customer base to provide information about you so that it can generate traffic that helps them generate leads for your competitors. I wonder how this works if multiple companies within a category are paying them?
G2 gathers information from online and user reviews. The Customer Satisfaction and Market Presence scores are then generated in real-time using a proprietary algorithm and shown on the grid. These grids are dynamic photographs of specific points in time
This is a scam site that makes you fill out extensive surveys in exchange for a gift card, but instead sends out an email days later with "Unfortunately, your review was not one of the first we received and is therefore not eligible for a gift card."
Dishonest company, false advertising! Also, before you claim that "oh we dont have you in the system, here is a screenshot of the email". Have basic decency!
I had a bit of an unpleasant experience with FreshBooks and wanted to write a quick review on G2. I could not even get started with that software because it is missing data import features, but G2 requires to answer lots of questions such as how many years do you use this software, etc. Then require screenshots from my login screen to prove that I am actually a legit user. Then there were whole pages of required info "about your company" and "about yourself" - no way, it was a waste of time. I have a feeling that it is made difficult on purpose for casual users like myself to submit real reviews, so that mostly the "right" reviews go in. And it looks like G2 are very thorough, require a lot of info from the submitter - of course...

Product vendor asks me to write review for them on G2 with promise G2 will provide giftcard. I do so. It is very long, tedious review. Wait a while. Never receive GC. Reach out to G2 and they say they can't do anything because the offer was made by the vendor. (But was to be provided and done entirely through G2?) Complete scam.

Changed this review. At first I received the following
'Unfortunately, your review was not one of the first we received and is therefore not eligible for a gift card.' after being told I would get one
Since then they have come through with the gift card so I am very happy
I wrote a review, spent a lot of time on it. I was promised a gift card. It was published, but no GC!
Trying to contact G2 is impossible.
No response on email and if you try any of their forms, you'll get an email asking you to reset your password.
Stay out of G2!

I had a negative experience with G2. I was invited by the company Reputation to leave a review on G2, so I decided to share my feedback on "Reputation". However, I faced a problem and was not able to publish my review.
When I contacted the G2 help center, I was disappointed to hear that my review could not be approved due to suspicious activity found on my account. However, there was no explanation provided as to why my review could not be approved or if it could be approved in the future.

Solicits positive review with gift card incentives for their advertisers. What is insidious about G2 is that it
Looks legit until you learn how it works. I wrote a critical review of one of their advertisers that was taken down-- they only publish positive reviews for the products/customers who pay them.

Really appreciate the G2 initiative to pay consumers for writing honest review about an application. It will really help people to come forward and write more review about the application which in turn will help the larger audience to choose the best suited application for them.
SCAM! Do not do reviews for them... They promise you a gift card for doing a review, only to then later reply " sorry you did not do the review quick enough ", or along those lines. But, I did the review within minutes of receiving the email.
Absoloute scammers!
Hi Jason. Thanks for reaching out and for sharing this concern. It looks like that was an error on our part. We have since sent the gift card and you should be able to find it in your email. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!
Unfair rankings of vendors... pay-to-play for vendors; if you don't advertise with them, watch out. Many reviews look fake and poor quality. Just gaming the SEO system and parasite of society

G2 is absolutely ridiculous. They constantly ask people to write reviews for their website in exchange for gift cards but I have written five reviews thus far and none of them were reviewed by their program nor was I offered the gift cards that was promised in exchange for the reviews. Don't waste your time with this unprofessional and pathetic website.

1. No knowledge over who are leaving reviews. It very well could be some unknown people with fake profile and not real users
2. G2 Incentives can bring on invalid users, as you don't know what they are validating or not
3. G2 decides on their own on what is to be approved or declined. Who knows based on what criteria? Nothing is clear and they will never tell you.
4. The buyer intent activity is of no use, it doesn't bring us new customers. G2 charges a lot of money for this with no return.
5. Quarterly Report: They entice you to get more review so that you be part of some kind of quarterly report they publish, which is of no as such values, if you can't protect your brand identity and remove falsifications in the review itself.
6. G2 software it self is buggy. Review campaign doesn't work in self service mode. You can't upload a file. You will have to talk to someone.
7. You can't control what reviews to show or hide, because G2 has a policy of no take down reviews because something is written somewhere in the contract about this.
8. You can't take your profile down because of who knows what. I gave G2 my information and they all of a sudden has the right of the profile of my company.
9. There are studies G2 can share to show you how bad reviews are great, so that you keep on collecting reviews.
10. In a whole G2 doesn't help in your branding, it negatively impacts you, your branding, your company and your potential customers. I have three customers who didn't sign up because of these reviews in G2.
11. And to top it all, some review was removed and it automatically came back as 0 star.

This company tells you about a gift card to draw you into writing very long reviews just to tell you they ran out of cards and send you emails everyday to write a review for the same company claiming they can send you a gift card that they said earlier they don't have. FALSE ADVERTISING.

"1984" by George Orwell is a dystopian novel that was published in 1949. It is set in a totalitarian society where the government has complete control over every aspect of citizens' lives, including their thoughts and emotions. The novel follows the story of Winston Smith, a low-ranking member of the ruling party, who begins to question the government's oppressive policies and falls in love with a fellow rebel named Julia.
The novel's themes are timeless and continue to resonate with readers today. Orwell's depiction of a society where people are constantly monitored by the government, where language is used as a tool of oppression, and where dissent is brutally suppressed is eerily prescient. The novel's portrayal of the dangers of a surveillance state and the power of propaganda has become a cautionary tale for our own time.
The writing style is stark and unembellished, reflecting the bleakness of the society Orwell has created. The characters are complex and well-developed, particularly Winston and Julia, who are both flawed but sympathetic. The novel's conclusion is haunting and thought-provoking, leaving the reader with much to ponder long after the book is finished.
Overall, "1984" is a powerful and important work of literature that has stood the test of time. It is a chilling reminder of the dangers of authoritarianism and a call to remain vigilant in the face of threats to our freedom and democracy. It is a must-read for anyone interested in politics, society, and the human condition.
I am very happy with g2.com, Thanks for keeping in regular contact and keeping me up to date with things.
