If you do not like drama this is not the website for you. If you do not have a lot of money this is not the site for you either
This is all funny as hell. I just learned about the reviews on this site for Fubar.
I need to correct a few of you that have commented.
1. I saw someone commenting on people logging into a deceased members account to revive their mafia player... Maybe, but not like your saying... I know players and I myself have revived deceased players to keep their player alive.
2. I saw someone commenting on people paying real money to purchase weapons for fumafia... False... There are no weapons for sell in fumafia. You can purchase credits for health refills, stamina refills, money, energy and doctor scrubs, but you cannot purchase weapons.
3. I see someone commented they had a picture of a lady as their profile picture when they are in fact a man... Yes it will be removed. When you joined the site you agreed to the terms of service. You cannot use the opposite sex as a profile picture. Scrapper also has that in his blog. I suggest a little bit of reading before complaining.
4. I see complaints of spam... False... I have been a member for over 3 years and have yet been spammed by/with anything.
5. I see the admin and staff being called nazi... False... I have never had a problem with any staff or admin. The bouncers are more than willing to help. You can message any member of admin and get a prompt response. Can you name me any other social network with a 24 hour help chat. Not a message to send and wait, but live help?
6. I see someone saying he has been discriminated against or harassed for a disability... False... I have personally seen Scrapper and at the time Eric delete accounts and turfs for the above said. That kind of stuff is a big no no and they do not do that... Don't use that as a card bub.
I could go on and on about the nonsense I have read on this site. I know who some of are and the legit reasons some of you had run ins with admin.
Is the site perfect... No. Is there a better social network... No
I have been on this site for under a year. Have met allot of Great ppl and have a blast on the Fumafia side. The Staff has always been great.
I personally like fubar because of the Fumafia game... it allows me to blow off steam and roleplay a bit. Good, clean fun.
Anyone with an iota of common sense can see that the 1 star negative reviews are written by pathetic angry people... or should I say "person". The perpetual victim, who never lets the reader know that they were the cause of any issue that might have happened. If you have a cavity, do you keep it to grow and cause pain? Of course not... so why should Fubar allow any angry people to stay or continue to come back to spread the hatred? I have witnessed Scrapper on many an occasion work with an upset member, calm them down and help resolve a situation, with that user ending up happy and understanding that admin is fair and does anything they can to resolve problems. NO business will put up with theft, dishonesty or fraud of any kind, so why should Fubar? It is a social network for adults, where people can have fun and play the leveling game whether they choose to spend money or not. You signed up and agreed to the site's TOS, so why get all bent out of shape when you not only break them, but abuse them beyond belief. Take your drama llama home to mom's basement and get over it butthurt people.
I have been on fubar since early 2007, and have made several friends for life, and have met some in person. If negative people try to cause issues, I learned to just block them and laugh at the silliness of their drama. Bouncers volunteer their time to help keep the site fun and help with questions people have about the site, leveling achievements etc.
Like the others have said, Fubar will be whatever you make of it, but know that they will not tolerate your drama or TOS violations, just like any other site, including this reveiw site.
:D
Oh, I forgot to mention. I have a screen shot of the fubar support profile rating a picture in my LOCKED UP PRIVATE NSFW FOLDER in which they didnt have access to.
I used to love this site. I have been a member since 2010 and there is nothing more I hate than drama. I have been thru drama on that site off and on and I always came out of it. This time its gone too far and never again will I make an appearance. I went to an admin who I thought I could trust with my problems. He called it fudrama. This huge pathetic 34 year old is one of his favorites on the site. She and her friends have a list of people they dont like and are spreading rumors about them to their friends. This is not drama, this is slander. I will not stand for this because I have not done anything to deserve this. I once thought of this place as an escape from reality for a little bit but if I cant even get help from the people who run this site, then Im gone. Never spending money on there again. Never showing my face again because I feel so violated and hurt that they would allow such behavior. WAKE UP ADMINS, know the difference between drama and slander- cause for lawsuit. Have fun with your corrupt website. Keep on encouraging those hateful childish people. Yall sure know how to lose customers.
Fubar and all of their staff are nothing more than a bunch of cyber bullies. The second you post something they don't like they delete your account. I was deleted twice, and also had a band page deleted... for what?... well the latest account they deleted was (I can only assume, since I was given no notice) for posting "this site does not value opinions, keep them to yourselves"... so apparently they do not like sarcasm, and will delete you for it. What a joke! After spending money on their site (granted it wasn't much) but nonetheless it was hard earned money, I got deleted for a sarcastic comment. (makes me think they were picked on in school and are taking it out on the cyber world)
Now they have started a money laundering scheme on their "battle of the bands" page. I call it money laundering because the only bands ever up for the chance to win 10 thousand dollar monthly prize are their personal friends. It shows a list of bands that have won over the last few months and... wait for it... shocker... their friends have won all of the 10k dollar battle of the bands. The funny thing is the band that has won many times actually really sucks (in my opinion) and other bands who sound better were getting beat by votes of 3k to 500 on a regular basis... but the site administrators doctor the votes to give the win to who they see fit. I posted that fact a couple of times and they deleted my comments because they didn't want the sheep to figure out they are getting bamboozled.
The other thing about fubar is, it's actually more of a site for the modern day prostitute... girls post nude pics and for the mere cost of a "bling pack" you get the privilege of seeing nude pictures of 300lb lonely housewives. Come to think of it, isn't prostitution still illegal in CA? (where fubar is based) hmmm sounds like a lawsuit to me :)
I've been on Fubar just 2 months. In the short time I've been there, I have been hit up on by dozens of men, many of whom are not respectful. Many are overtly sexual despite my warning them to stop, and it clearly stated on my profile that I will not chat or friend men (or women) who are obnoxious, sexual or crass. Ultimately, I have had to block a few people.
I got into the game out of curiosity and quickly got interested in the various game options and ways to move up. With little investment --- $10 worth of bling-- I have managed to ascend to level 36 in two months, but with significant time spent there liking, rating photos, polishing other people's "bling", and enduring men who are overtly sexual and offering bling but expecting me to converse with them or send them private photos. Which I refuse to do.
Fubar is not for me a "dating" site, but sort of an interesting visit to another planet. I have watched some seemingly normal people on there, but plenty of sad and desperate men or outwardly attention seeking women spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, to achieve popularity and attention.
I will still continue to play but often find the environment depressing. Most of the men, with rare exception, look like losers or older guys seeking cheap thrills outside their marriages or steady relationships. While it is a technically "free" site, this IMO is a terrible way to meet anyone you might want to know in real life. I heard from one older gentleman (interested in me) that over the years, several women have duped him for "bling", some have visited him in real life and taken advantage of him. The man spends quite a lot of discretionary $$ on "credits" on Fubar, and in real life I believe has a very modest life. I don't think he is an isolated case, at all.
Rather than let Fubar become your costly addiction, why not engage with people in your community in REAL life. Volunteer at an animal shelter, a church, or get involved in other good deeds. Read books. Garden. Take a class. Improve your home. Find a better job. Seek a relationship (if that's what you are looking for) on more legitimate dating sites, or through clubs and other interests.
Fubar is a GAME, and a costly one if you get seriously addicted to achieving levels. The owners of Fubar are very clever, clever enough to see that people in this culture desire to be loved, admired, and have attention, and this is the platform upon which the game is run. Fubar creators are laughing all the way to the bank, at your expense.
The good, bad, and ugly side of Fu. It's a microcosm of RL. A popularity contest. There are cliques and the bling whores, who beg for virtual bling by flashing their goods. If you have money, you can buy your way to the top. One can find alliances, find their tribe. A mish mosh of: devote Christians, stoners, rockers, shut ins, those who are sick, some with terminal illness', bikers, fairies, queers, quite a few Trumpsters, lonely folks seeking 'the one', loners, guys who flash their thingy, women who flash their whatever's. Vanity on full display.
And compliments to whomever is making the bucks playing on the weaknesses and vanity of its members for profit. After certain (top) members spend thousands, or hundreds of thousands of dollars, they have far too much invested to leave. Yes, I'm still a member, though I once had an issue with some jealous woman who made up all sorts of drama complained to the 'bouncers', and tried to have me booted. I was friends with the man she was rather infatuated with and was getting weirdly possessive of. It all felt very juvenile. And goodness, people can get mean and catty, fake friends, but yes you can find some true gems too.
The padding. No, there aren't millions of users, thousands yes. A core group, and about 30k at the most users, not all active. In fact, many trolls, scammers, men pretending to women, w/ fake profiles, that aren't removed, so that just pads the numbers. I would wager to guess, based on looking through my own account, that 60% are deactivated accounts, and another 25% are inactive. Though I suspect the number is higher.
The positive: It's a game, it's fun, a distraction, there are still nice people, and the possibility of making friends, and I assume based on what I heard, RL relationships (probably more than hookups). So why is it advertised to be a hookup site?
I have been on Fubar for over 10 years. It's a wonderful site filled with great people!
But now it has just devolved into money pit for desperate souls. Don't waste your time.
Answer: Everything on fubar is in hands of the fuGods - translation, you are subject to their whims. If you are having issues, then Fubar.com really isn't the place for you since it already seems you are unwelcome based on something.
Answer: You have to enter a valid e mail. If you don't have an e mail account you should start one.
Answer: Ryan riccitelli and Mike Hedlund. The 2 hackers that were probably outcasted by Facebook. Laughs
