Flyawaysimulation review
I'm an FSX Acceleration user on an old windows 7 Pc. Love this site for the freeware add ons both planes and scenery. Some of my favourites … Concorde, Pompei, Paris scenery, dolomites scenery, LHR T5, Thunderbird 2 including mole haha and even a space 1999 Eagle. ( showing my age now) I've managed to get most things to work in FSX. Just remember to keep preview directX 10turned off in settings … display… graphics otherwise you can lose some plane textures and end up with albino looking planes!
Fly Away Simulation is a great store to buy your aircraft for flight simulators. I have had zero problems with them. They seem very responsive if you need support. They offer great products too. The only thing I would suggest is that they have a one click solution when they email you about updates. They are on top of things when it comes time to update their software, usually after Asobos updates break things.
They have problems with airplane gauges A320-211-GJVB-CFM, like they don't light or function. I did the correct instalation, it still they didn't work.
Be careful... make sure you cancel your membership after you purchase anything on this site. I asked to be cancelled last year and was told by Fly Away that I was cancelled, but I was not told to remove them from my PayPal account, so a year later, I got another bill for $55, since the membership auto-renewed. While I know this site has some great stuff, this was a shady way to make a buck, and I never even used their products. Also, the reason I signed up was to get the FSCUIP plugin needed to run EZDOK - BUT it didn't work. When I talked with Flight1.com, ( the owner of the FSCUIP plug-in) he said that Fly Away has no authority to sell the FSCUIP and that I had to buy it through him on Flight1. I feel cheated, for sure. Cancel your subscription on PayPal now if you don't want to get hit with a membership renewal of $55.
Okay, I have a lot of ORBX scenery, but particularly for CA I do not have so much - two airports and the base packages of ORBX.
I decided to download Photorealistic CA scenery from flyawaysimulation.com
I had two choices - giving 55 / 60 dollars for Pro account so I can get this scenery on normal speed, or wait for four days and then getting it.
I decided to torture myself and wait for four days with open Google Chrome and wait the scenery to download.
I was 3 days in, my GPU updated, my pc updated and I got frozen pc. I needed to restart my pc, because it was not responding at all.
I restarted my pc forcefully. I went back to my Google Chrome and resumed download. It was showing my scenery to be stuck at 75 % and 0 download speed.
I lost 3 days of waiting for this scenery. I was unable to use my pc, because of it.
All of this to pay 55 dollars in order to get it.
I was not going to download anything else from there, since I invested into my Prepar3D more than 20 000 dollars already, including the custom rig I build for it entirely.
I do not have spare money to pay scam company, that makes my pc weak like hell with i7 9700KF processor and RTX 2070 GPU on it! My pc is POWERFUL ENOUGH to handle any game I throw at it.
Fly Away Simulation, you are awful company and you do not deserve any support or money.
Unreasonable restriction for download speeds (50kbs). A scam to get you to purchase there downloader. Glad reputable sights like Avsim.com and Flightsim.com don't charge you to download other contributors files and programs.
Top of the line high quality flight simulation products and knowledge based website that actually caters to what you want and or need in order to experience flight. If you have questions you will find the answer on this site, it's knowledge base increases daily as does the flight simulation world.
Good balance regarding cost and quality. Besides that, easy installation and reasonable frame speed results in a desirable product
Es una gran experiencia impresionante volar en un Foker Dr I de la 1 guerra mundial. Me gusta la historia y sobre todo, aunque de modo virtual, vivir lo que esta en los libros. Gracias, muchas gracias.
As a retired man having free downloads means I can join in with every one else in the flight sim world
It is a great resource being a simulation fan since 1985 and pilot since 2005, many thanks to put together all this talented people who develop wonderful virtual planes/jets and realistic scenaries, so we can enjoy them!
Some great downloads without having to be a member. Nonmembers have a slower download speed. But is overall a great add-on site.
Great site look forward to the emails! I look for sites that understand their target audience, in this case flight sim. I have purchased many items and find them as advertised. I know they will keep up the good work.
The contents on Flyawaysim.com are old and outdated, most of them don't attract my interest, some of them are incomplete and they created issues in my flight simulator, plus membership fees are a little high and if you're not a paying member of the site, downloads will be very slow.
I enjoy playing the games and all of the updates, thanks to all the people adding new planes, some of planes and missions are very impressive and enjoyable.
One of the better reference to find useful extensions, airplanes and other resources to reinforce and makeup with a better scenarys the standard and many times ugly equipment of the FSX.
Love it very useful for the flight sim community. Very varied and extensive content I use it for FSX and FS9
Everything at hand.
Good details of contents.
Good to navigate among items offered.
Good graphics on the site.
I always look forward to my weekly update from Fly Away. 9 times out of 10, there's some gem of a sharerare/freeware add-on that I might have missed - or one that I'd already had but forgot to reinstall after some sim upgrade or other. It's an invaluable service - and very easy to use. Keep up the good work!
Answer: The membership fee is if you want faster downloads. When it comes to any platform understand there are platforms. PlayStation is a platform but it is also a computer for gaming of licensed games, as is Gameboy, Nintendo or whatever. Now in more modern times some games are licensed for cross platforms meaning simply the creator has used licensed computer data and language to do so, kind of why you can't put a 350. Chevy in a Toyota and expect it to function unless you make Major and miniscule changes in alterations. One of the hardest things to learn in Fsx was file placement. Some websites use high-end installers such as Rikoooo. Some only the creator producer of the files do this. Example so you can do it. File C130(files contains. Aircraft, sound, effects.) Right click CUT OVER AIRCRAFT PLACE THAT OVER THE MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR FILE AND PASTE. NOW REPEAT THE PROCESS ON EACH OF THE 2 remaining files.DO NOT open the flight sim and install the files as you will be placing the file into the head file and it won't work, or you can take the C130 file and place that into the aircraft /airplane file knowing that's longhand. If you go by the first method it will be fine, even the second but if you don't it will end up like this. Airplane airplane c-130 aircraft sound effects etc... The system won't read. Now the reason for cut and paste is copy paste can be lost. What is good is a new MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR IS TO BR RELEASED IN 2020. What platform we don't know, we may be able to use some of the same million add ons or we may have to start on a new journey. I've been with MSFSX since 2007 and I've seen them come and go. I mean after all going from 20000 plus airports in the original program and having over 100000 is alot of work, so take you're time, get used to the file system and know the knowledge base is there, we've lost alot of hair making sure. Any questions post them, you'll find the answer.
Answer: FS2004, in regards to that question there are thousands of downloads for that platform. Most FS2004 if created within the last 4 months or so do function in the FSC AND FSX ACCELERATION platform of course realizing that that graphics and applications may not function perfectly as intended. I have approximately 5700 aircraft and 2450 are in my sim for use. In you want them when you do a search insert fsx downloads fs 2004. Most sites will have them and if so they can be found on each sites search engine. If there's a hello or fixed wing that I want I'll check it out, if it isn't quite what I expect I'll note the aircraft and keep checking. There's a few sites that have nothing but fs2004. I'd identify them for you but that would take the thrill out of the hunt.
Answer: There are a few ways, one is to start the sim, once you use it the prompt will ask you to either insert the keys then or later, no matter what you're going to have to do it. One is to call the number, the other and easier is to take the key it came with. Now if you call make sure you have a LARGE sheet of paper, you will be read many many codes, then you will be reading them back and another code process will start. Now if you have the Gold or acceleration pack you will have to do the same thing,. If you have changed computers or the name of the computer or reinstalled the process will be repeated as with most software. Since Microsoft sold the FSX platform to Lockheed you may have to keycode an internal security file. The directions are online.
Answer: They do, BUT, When in contact be specific about you're contact and have all information and purchase numbers there so they can refer to something. If it's questions about the program and install, generalized they have groups that you can ask and you will get you're answers. Many times the manufacturer or creator is the one to contact.
Answer: Take the disc 1 insert and let it come up on the screen the RUN. It's going to take quite awhile as it's loading 20,000 plus airports and flight paths vectors etc, once that's done it will tell you insert disc 2, follow the onscree. BUT when it says insert disc 2 do not click ok until you've removed disc 2 and placed disc two in the drive. Then hit ok and the disc will start. Once that's complete insert the acceleration disc. If you don't have acceleration nothing will be the same as much of the program relys on acceleration. I'd advise you setup with the internet on so you can verify and get the two downloads like sp2 and fspiuc. If you don't get them there will be an issue. If you have the MSFSX GOLD, YOULL BE OK. I'd advise doing the keycode going in when it asks or you won't be able to use the sim in all of it's glory. Once that's done and everything is complete and verified you'll be on your way to a unique sometimes harrowing journey. It's alot easier now with so many sites and this site in particular will have all of the knowledge base you will need.
One of the web's largest flight simulation portals covering many flight simulator packages including the Microsoft Flight Simulator series, X-Plane and FlightGear.
Trusted by hundreds of thousands of flight simmers every month. Established for over 20 years.
Dear Cally,
Firstly, I'm sorry to hear of the issues you seemed to have with our service. All of our memberships do indeed automatically renew and this is made very clear when signing up. Of course, you may cancel the renewal at any time. As to why yours renewed after being canceled is something I will look into and ensure this is refunded.
As for FSUIPC - we do not sell this anywhere on the site. I think you may be referring to the free unlicensed version we have in our freeware library. You would still need to purchase a license to use this software to its maximum functionality.
