FLX Bike

It was definitely worth waiting patiently for both our orders. Our first ride on the Babymakers was a delight and the smiles haven't left our faces.

I was anxious about the process a few times but when I emailed I got a response same day from Sarah to put my mind at ease. A few weeks later the bikes showed up and now the wife and I are "back in the saddle again."

I did quite a bit of research and decided on this bike because of design. Received it well packaged and in excellent shape. Installed and put together in about 30 minutes. I've only had a couple weeks but so far very pleased.

Some issues setting up. Front axle did not readily come out, luggage carrier did not align with bike frame. This company avows telephone support. They neither ever answer the phone nor call back. Had to resort to using sales rep who is excellent!

I was dealing with Jonathan and Mark at their store on Morena Blvd. In San Diego.
Couple of things needed to be taken care off and Jonathan and Mark are both two very helpful and knowledgeable people at the company.
Absolute pleasure to deal with these guys. Definetely, my next bike will be coming from FLX again, for sure.

I've had no problems at all in my dealings with FLX. They are a dedicated, hard-working group and are doing their best under extremely difficult market conditions. I received my bike - a bit later than estimated - but they were very transparent regarding the situation and I was happy to receive the regular updates. My bike arrived safe & sound, was relatively easy to put together, and performs like a champ! I would not hesitate to purchase from them again.

Love the bike! Pre-ordered during the sale period and waited about 2 months for shipping. Received prompt and helpful responses from Marc about questions. A little more detail on the specifications online would be great.

I never backed an Indiegogo campaign before and everybody I told about it said I would never get the product. But FLX communicated regularly in live shows on YouTube and answered the questions of their backers. You cannot deny that they saw a lot of challenges in these special times which led to a huge delay. But, I never lost my faith in them and after 15 months I received my wonderful BABYMAKER PRO bike. It was well packaged, is very well built in high quality and rides like a charm. And: it looks super awesome!

My rear light that was included in my Babymaker Touring Kit was defective. I sent photos and the next thing I knew I had a replacement. The support team was great! LOVE my bike, love FLX.

My display was cracked, scratched, and unreadable. I ordered a new one and it was extremely simple to install. Took out the old one and popped in the new one. Easy Peasy.

The LCD display on my BabyMaker broke and I asked about getting it replaced under warranty. FLX support we're happy to get it replaced and quickly sent me a new one.

The FLX Babymaker is an awesome ebike! From the day I tested the Babymaker at FLX shop until I got my own, I am blown away with its features and sleek design. Members of my bike group were also impressed by this ebike compared to their heavier and way more expensive ebikes. Some of my friends didn't even realize that the Babymaker was an ebike because of its stealth design, passing them with little effort particularly on uphill. FLX did a great job with this bike and they have a great staff for support. Overall, I am very satisfied with the FLX Babymaker. If you are in the market for an ebike, look no further and get the FLX Babymaker.

Babymaker pro( Gates belt drive, hydraulic brakes, clean looks, decent tires) is a pleasure to ride. I cannot imagine where the negative reviews are coming from. It is a great bike if you want to improve your posture while biking, learn the importance of cadence while cycling long distances. This bike improves your ride quality and distance without making you horribly exhausted at the end of the ride. At assist level 1 -2 you can squeeze 50-70 miles per full charge. It is super quiet and needs no care except dusting with a cloth. Try it, ride it for 100 miles before writing a review.It is priced to sell. Great job FLX!

Great bikes At a great price. So easy to assemble even easier to ride. Fast and smooth and soooo stealthy

Part was in stock and worked. Not an exact match to the original on my bike but it worked and had the proper connector. Wish there was installation instructions in the package or your website. Had to visit a competitors website to find installation video which worked.

The LCD control failed. I was able to email the team and had a replacement component within 1 week.

Even though you guys didn't have the part in stock. Mark the tech over there was able to direct me to a place that had it online for a reasonable price…had you guys install it and it worked out great…Awesome!

... and thankfully not mine! The Babymaker is absolutely amazing. The look and feel of a road bike, but with electronic pedal assist for the hills or zooming the flats. I replaced the pedal with my Speedplay lollipops so I could still get that feel like my old road bike, but I've got some adapters so I can use tennis shoes or flip flops for a casual spin around. The lime green catches attention and compliments my car show set up. I love telling people all about the features of the bike and hope they get one of their own.

I picked up my Babymaker as a Kickstarter because I believed in the concept and it was one of those solutions I didn't know I could get fixed! The FLX team kept me in the loop the whole time and yes, it took longer to arrive than anticipated, but that can be expected in these types of situations. Totally worth the wait and I'm enjoying both riding it and talking about it. Easy to assemble and all components feel solid.

Ordered the Babymaker as part of the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign in April 2020, received in January 2021. I have been impressed with what FLX were able to deliver given the numerous issues out of their control given the pandemic and changing manufacturing and shipping landscapes. The bike itself is awesome. Great quality and I live riding it. Have had no issues and all my dealings with FLX have been great.
I know many people are frustrated with FLX not getting the bikes out sooner, and I think FLX could have done a better job or managing and communicating expectations from early on, but in fairness there were so many unknowns. Any crowdfunding campaign in an experiment and a learning curve for the team undertaking it and I have no doubt FLX have learnt from this and will continue to improve.

So far so good, just expected everything in 1 delivery, but customer service told me it was coming in another shipment, so I am happy about that, good customer service, still waiting on 1 more item.

This is my third e-bike, and I was looking for a quiet, stealthy bike that would allow some good workouts, while still also being able to ride as a fast/easy transit when I want. I had been looking at several options, and even considered building my own as there wasn't much on the market that came close. I'm using this as a weekend cruiser up around a beachfront area for recreation and some occasional errands.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the communication about when the bike will be delivered is a pretty terrible experience. There wasn't any feedback, even when requested about when it would be delivered other than "you'll get an e-mail when it ships." I did do a "pre-order", that indicated it would ship "summer", so I guess I shouldn't be annoyed, but the experience could be improved for sure.

I'm 5'8" 170 lbs and I ordered the 19" small/medium frame, which fits me almost perfectly. The bike arrived well packaged and with accurate tracking notification to be sure I was home to receive it. The bike was fairly easy to assemble and only needed some minor tweaking over the first few rides to adjust and find creaking/clicking things to adjust. Nothing out of the ordinary for routine bike maintenance.

I've had it several weeks now, and have put a bit over 200 miles on it, mostly in minimal pedal assist mode. I can't comment much on the range of the charge, as I really only use the pedal assist biking back from the gym on leg day. I have found it useful when riding in some traffic to more closely match the speed of traffic, but as far as testing the range goes, I don't know much. For me, It'll go somewhere around 25 MPH with just a bit of pedaling, which for my area is actually faster than car traffic most of the time. I was a bit surprised at how the motor doesn't auto-cut-off when applying brakes as my other e-bikes do. But after I got used to it, I actually like this better than the others. The motor disengages pretty quickly when you stop pedaling, and provides pretty solid control. It's particularly easy when riding on a boardwalk or sidewalk with walkers/runners where maintaining slower speeds temporarily may be necessary.

There were a few things that I immediately had to do to 'fix' it to my liking though. The seat was the first thing that needed some attention; Seat preference is pretty individual though, so I probably would have changed that out regardless of what it came with. I also had to add a handlebar riser to bring it up a few inches, the riding position wasn't very comfortable for me. I added metal flip up pedals as well, just to have them available when they're handy. The grips are starting to show some wear, and I'll probably switch those out in the next 100 miles or so; I don't think they'll make it much longer. Nice grips, but they don't seem like they'll last.

All of this was pretty minor modifications to get an e-bike that is exactly what I was looking for. So, I'm very happy with it. Unfortunately, it is less stealthy than I wanted as it is an eye-catching attractive bike. People are puzzled as it doesn't look like an e-bike, but doesn't quite look like a regular bike when you look closely. A bit more wear and maybe it won't be so eye-catching.
