Flip'n Patties Restaurant 1801 Eldridge Parkway Suite 108 Houston, Texas 77077 www.flipnpatties.com This is a very unusual Filipino hamburger restaurant for the Houston area that has my highest recommendation. Everything we tried was excellent. It started as a food truck and then expanded into a sit-down restaurant in Houston. I recommend that when you go, you go with a group of at least four people, if not more so you can taste multiple dishes. They are open 11 AM to 9-10 PM Monday through Saturday. The hamburgers are made with Akaushi beef (which we had never had before, but we found to be very tasty). The Flip'n Patties burger comes with a large fried Panko stuffed Portabella mushroom stuffed with muenster and cheddar cheese (again we had never had before), bacon, lettuce, tomato and a spicy Tang sauce which you might want to get on the side. They are served on homemade buns. I suggest that you cut the burger in half, as it is a real mouthful when you start eating the burger. There are 5 other hamburger options. They also have a half a dozen French fry options. The Chicken Pupu was fried chicken bites in a sweet soy ginger sauce. Think of thinly sliced chicken breasts breaded then rolled and fried. The chicken Pupu comes with rice and 2 Fliprolls. This was really a good dish. The Chix'n Joy had the Panko crusted fried chicken with pork belly gravy and an egg. Again, this was an excellent dish. Other chicken, beef & pork rice dishes are available, as well as appetizers, salad and other desserts. For dessert you must order, the Halo Halo. It was shaved ice with evaporated and condensed milk, Haagen-Dazs Vanilla & Ube ice cream (which we had never had) with flan, jackfruit, palm fruit, coconut jellies, coconut strings and mung beans. It was outstanding.
