We were on a trip to Florida before my husband was being deployed and during his birthday. As a surprise for his birthday, I booked a fishing trip for him.
Unfortunately the weather forced a cancelation on his birthday.
Captain Dave graciously agreed to reschedule 2 days later when the weather cleared enough to go out. We were on a time crunch due to flying back home.
We each caught fish even though the conditions were less than optimal but we really enjoyed the experience. It was colder than normal and windy, I think we brought the weather down from the north!
He was very informative, helpful, and easy to get along with.
Two of the selling points to choosing Captain Dave and his pontoon boat were that it wasn't ocean fishing where I wasn't sure we wouldn't get sea sick and the fact it was just us. With it being my husband's birthday and the short time we had together before him being deployed for a year, this was very important to me.
It was a great experience and he loved his birthday present!
We would definitely do this fishing trip again in the future!

Canceled the charter 10 hours before the scheduled trip. I could not even attempt to charter another as I leave the next day. This trip was booked weeks in advance.

We were hoping for Mahi Mahi but the 6 hour trip was too short to go for our target, convinced to fish the bay, caught a few. Went to local fish market for mahi to prepare for dinner.

They book your boat, the customer canceled and your out of money, they keep the deposit and tell you sorry, that the policy. Call the charter directly and you or the charter won't get screwed.
This was a great experience as I had booked a trip and it was cancelled due to the hurricane damage in MS and the site notified and gave me other options to book another charter with another boat.

I booked a $3100 trip. The Captain tried to charge me $5000 more. When I cancelled, they kept my $828 deposit. Unethical!

I understand that the captain offered to take you on a 12 hour trip for tuna, which costs $5000, unlike the cheaper 8 hour trip you'd originally booked. The additional cost would have covered the fuel that's required to travel out to find tuna at this time of year.
Unfortunately, the captain of this charter has a non-refundable cancellation policy. That's why the deposit was forwarded to them when you decided not to take the original trip you booked, which would have gone ahead at the price you originally agreed upon.
I'm very sorry you weren't able to go fishing and understand how disappointing this misunderstanding must have been. In case you would like to give us another try, I'd strongly recommend that you contact us directly if you have questions before canceling a trip, so we can find a solution that works for you and the captain. We had a hiccup before our trip. Customer service responded quickly.
We got put on plenty of fish and maybe even a shark that broke the line. That was a fun fight even if I lost.
Captain Mark got us on some fish despite 20mph winds!+. Hooked onto a huge Ray!. After 20min fight we got it along side of the boat before the 30lb leader gave into the 100lb + Cow nose Ray.
