It started ok, but has been the worst experience since. They told me I would have free rotation at any firestone or sister corperation, however, the first firestone I went to told me they would charge me for the rotation. Then I took it to the original store and they took an extra 2.5 hours on top of the time quoted for me for just a simple rotation. Without having to remove the wheels since my experience there I went back for a third time, (so I know it was them) they had cross threaded and ruined 3 different bolts with the lug nuts. In essence they messed up on 3 of the 4 tires. The front of the house manager came and told me that they would fix it next time, basically he tried to send me out on the road with 3 out of 4 lug nuts attaching 2 of my 4 tires. The customer service for firestone is somehow even worse. They tell you they are going to call you back in 48 hours and never do, I called 3 times and they don't even have a record of the first 2 times. These people are willing to sacrifice the safety of not only their customers but for everyone on the road. One of the worst companies I've had to deal with.
Stop here if you want to be taken advantage of. My wife went there to get an oil change and have them check the brakes. She ended up being charged $508. The service people told her the front brakes and rotors were bad. She called me at work, the service advisor lied to me about the cost of the parts. The technician, even though he didn't look at the car, could tell me to the millimeter how much pad was left. The advisor or technician tried to coerce her to buy tires and cabin filter. When she would not they left her glove box and contents on the floorboard. The parts prices were inflated by 100 to 200%. Example; Cabin filter online $19.99, Firestone $59.99. When I spoke with the area manager, George Ranieri, He said "We can charge what we want" When I mentioned the glove box incident, he stated " I apologize I'll mention it to them" I will never go back to this Firestone again and will let everyone I know what a terrible experience I had.
I was traveling with our three youngest children from NC to SC Friday when I stopped at exit 164 off I-95N. As I pulled into Cracker Barrel, I heard a scraping sound under my car and thought it might be one of my tires but as I looked closer, I found something else. I asked a gentleman if he could help me and showed him what appeared to be the under carriage of my car hanging by a thread. I asked him if he knew where I may be able to get it fixed and he told me about Firestone on Hoffmeyer, not far from Cracker Barrel. I thanked him profusely. If you see a man in the area with a Steeler's face mask, HE IS AWESOME! I carefully drove to Firestone and encountered the friendliest, most helpful staff. The first person to help me was Mr. Nick. He saw me coming and showed me where I could park in the already close-to-full parking lot. Mr. Patrick was very kind and assured me that they could quickly get me on my way, even though every stall was full and all staff was diligently working on vehicles. Mr. Nick fixed the under carriage and checked the air tire pressure in all four tires. He also showed me how to reset the sensor, when necessary. I've had my tires rotated at least three times in the last year and no one at the local shop could reset the sensor. Mr. Patrick, Mr. Rick and Ms. Donna treated everyone who came into the store and called on the phone as if they were friends. They were so kind and accommodating to me. My children and I made it safely to our destination and back home tonight. We travel that area quite frequently and plan to stop in to deliver goodies to them the next time we pass through. When people ask about our Father's Day weekend, our answer is "we had a rough 10 minutes, but we had a wonderful weekend!" THANK YOU, Mr. Nick, Mr. Patrick, Mr. Rick and Ms. Donna!
My local Firestone is one of the most honest car care facility around. They will let you know if it is not needed, and even try and talk you out of it. Great service.
I walked in to firestone spokane valley washington,, looking for a new set of tires for my wife's car. The salesman kept coming back to this one set of tires, kept saying how good they were ended up buying them, about 6 mo later i walked in to get a new set for my truck. Again purchased these tires they said were real good, and bought life time front end alignment with the tires for my truck. The next week my wife picked up a nail, and said they could not patch it. Found out they sold me an obsolete set of tires, they wanted me to buy a tire that didn't match, acting like not having a set that matched made a big deal. Turns out the tire could be patched and did not need a new tire anyway, the other shop said they were trying to make me spend more money. Firestone ripoff's so i called there cooperate office and told the guy on the phone how pissed i was,, he said he would have the district manager call me back, that was almost 2 years ago and they still have not called me... i don't thin i am going to get that call
I called to see if they had time to run a Diagnostic on a car, the fans had stopped. I prefererced all my input with this information, so I would conclude to drive it any distance it would overheat. I went to this location because it had always been quick, fair and effecient. New guy stated he needed to run a block test first. Pretty insistant so the person that took the truck said ok. Now 90 for Diag & 60. For block test, estimate for doing a replacement of a fan assembly (that was new just replaced) and the connectors. 600+. He was told the fan was new, refused to consider connectors only. So why would I pay for something I did not need, or pay for a test I did not ask for? Either the mechanic is not certified to put 2+2 together, and conclude if the fans are no blowing it would overheat. Or the shop is set up to add items not necessary. If they are bonused on sales, that is issue, you will have a lot of 1 time customers. Not a good business practice. Although I am a fairly smart Woman, and will not be taken advantage of. No work authorized
New to the area, we tried Firestone on University in Durham for our care car. On both visits we were met with false evaluations of services we needed. The 1st visit was simply for inspection. We were told our vehicle could not pass inspection unless they replaced our passenger mirror that has a crack in it. Funny, the vehicle had passed inspection for the past 8 yrs. With the same crack. We were charged for the inspection and took it to another center which passed it w/out question.
The 2nd visit was an oil change and we were called to ask if they could check the brakes. We agreed they could check though we had not experienced any brake trouble. We were informed we needed new rear breaks, but opted out of fixing at that time. When we picked up the vehicle, the brakes were making a very audible squealing. There had been no sensor noise or indication of a problem before they inspected these brakes. When we talked to customer service about this, instead of a humble desire to look at and fix the problem, we were asked if we were accusing them of causing it. And yes, they did cause it, but no need to further patronize a business with this kind of poor service.
I went in to have my cam shaft sensor replaced. Over the phone they said they had the part and could fix it. When I picked my car up, the light came right back on. I had it reread and it told me the cam shaft sensor, again. I took right back and the guy got an attitude with me. I even asked if there was a possibility if there were 2 sensors. He said he didn't know and did not look it up. He then tried to tell me to do a diagnostic check for another $100. I took it to my local machanic and he said it was the original sensor that came with the car. He changed it and now my car runs fine. They never changed the sensor but still charged me! Completely took advantage of me also known as stealing!
