It used to be decent, but it's become a toxic hellhole that's circling the drain.
I don't think they've even added any fresh users in like 10 years. It's the same bunch of grumpy boomers showing up to insult each other. Stay away.

Fark aggregates news stories. This they do in a simple cueing system that involves multiple editors selecting which stories are "published.". They feign a childlike, fun atmosphere, but in reality are hard left dogmatists who tightly control their discussion boards through censorship of conservative viewpoints. The free access to the basic fark site brings in the dregs of the world; there are truly grotesque personalities and subversive political groups that haunt the message boards, spouting unbelievably destructive antisocial and radical political messages. The site grooms youthful participants to conform to total PC compliance and total acceptance of degenerate value systems and orthodoxies. There are literally dozens of superior websites from which to receive daily aggregated news stories. Fark is nothing more than code monkeys' nonsensical time-suck childishness, posing as adult entertainment and "education." Skip this one. It's a clownshow in businessmen's clothing.

Fark has become so pathetic and hungry for page clicks, membership, and ad impressions that they recently started shadow banning posts so any affected users will be oblivious to their content being removed in the hope they will remain to generate ad revenue and free content. Most articles greenlit these days use intentionally misleading headlines that are modified by admins after submission to be as divisive as possible. Polite civil discourse is no longer allowed, its employee "moderators" regularly (and publicly) personally insult and harass users with impunity.

Fark has become precisely what its creator used to mock. It once was a good place to go for a laugh or two, or an intelligent discussion on various topics, but has devolved into an echo chamber for a specific group of deluded and insecure people who refer to themselves as your "betters".

This used to be a fun website to read snarky, cynical, dark humor comments about current events. Alas, over the past years it has become significantly less fun as a cabal of unintelligent moderators with personality disorders and chips on their shoulders are intent on removing anything fun from the site. Should you dare point out a woman like Palin or MTG doing something dumb, prepare to be banned for "misogyny." A lot of topics that used to form the butt of jokes are now forbidden. Bad moderation is the cancer that's killing this site, but alas the owners refuse to see this.

This use to be decent but now it's like a high school clicky social group, you're either in the "in group" or you're not. Admins are also users that post on the site and disagreeing with them will get you suspended, there's at least one that's a blatant racist and they behave like children. I've seen people get suspended just for making a political viewpoint post an admin didn't agree with, suspended for asking about someone getting suspended and suspended just for mentioning the word suspended. The politics and sports tabs are the worst, clicky teen like environment.

A site that's just overrun with boomer age neckbeards and incels who trot out the same insults, decades old memes, and completely out of touch opinions on everything. It's a sad site full of pathetic users.
Needs to be put down like an old horse.

The moderators are that place are a bunch of $#*!head nazis and will suspend you for the stupidest $#*!. Even if you are a $#*!ing moron and pay them $120 a year.

I was there from almost the very beginning, when it was just glorious. Boobies links, photoshop contests with literally hundreds of submissions, people with a SENSE OF HUMOR and with a modicum of INTELLIGENCE.

The people there now have absolutely no critical thinking skills, not a funny bone in their body, they post too much, add nothing of value to any discussion, and it's just not any fun anymore.

Literally one guy can post hundreds of times in a thread, in dozens of threads a day, spouting the same nonsense with impunity. The mods don't stop any of it. A simple posting limit would solve this problem, maybe make these people go away.

Photoshop contests are all but dead. Boobies links no longer exist. The headlines used to be funny and edgy. Now they're bland, politically correct, and worst of all REPETITIVE. Same old stale "jokes", over and over again.

I find myself visiting less and less. Sometimes I take a very long break, only to come back and see things have gotten worse, not better.

It's just incredibly sad. This site used to be, with no exaggeration, the greatest site on the Internet. What a disappointing fall.

Garbage site, run by a garbage person, with gargbage mods, full of garbage users.
I'm actually really happy to see this site struggling to stay alive right now. It belongs in the garbage.

The mods are no better than the fat antiwork reddit mod who walks dogs 12 hours a week. Most of the regulars are insane boomer sjws. The only plus is that they will all be dead in 10 years.

At one time, Fark was a fun distraction with good, snarky humor and occasional bursts of good discussion.

Those days are long since past. And no, NOT because the site is "woke" or whatever nonsense bitter right-wingers are spewing. There are still plenty of bigots in the comments, so they should feel at home.

No, Fark went down the tubes because it's just wall-to-wall misery. It is exactly the thing its users claim to hate about social media, Reddit, and other sites. As a general rule, Farkers do not enjoy anything. Most threads are about what you hate. All movies suck. All music sucks. All games suck. All media sucks. There was a time when Grandpa Simpson was a running joke on the site. Now, most of those people ARE Grandpa Simpson.

The politics tab is, of course, a toxic cesspool. The days of good discussion there are LONG GONE.

Entertainment topics are a complete waste. If you actually LIKE things and enjoy discussing what you like, Fark is not the site for you.

General news is full of bitter people making bitter comments, regardless of the topic.

It's all around a miserable place ideal for negative people but awful for anyone who wants to ESCAPE the nonstop complaining on social media. Go elsewhere if you want a release from the gripefest that is the modern internet.

And yes, I fully understand that I'm complaining right now. Hard-dee-har-har. Way to miss the point.

I started using fark.com way back when it first came out. Back then it was just Drew posting links to interesting stuff he found. Eventually he started taking suggestions from other people and getting more people to run the site. He had always said he had no interest in making money off the site and he was just doing it for fun. But slowly over time, he said he needed money to keep the site going and started selling sponsored links and subscription. The link were at first clearly marked as being sponsor, but now they are usually not. He has also shifted focus of the site from being for PCs to being for mobile devices. This means most of the site and links no longer work on a PCs browser. He now has minimal involvement in running the site and seems to only care if it is making him money. The site is no longer his hobby that he wants to share with everyone. It is now a business that he wants to use to make as much money as possible.
