This message and similar ones were sent to the company several times along with photographs but received no reasonable response, other than being asked for order # etc., which was provided:
"The bangle had been worn only a few times before the plastic rainbow colors started to peel away."
Eventually, they blocked me ln Messenger. Therefore, I sent several e-mails to which they have not replied.
Advice: Try other sites to shop for the exact same products.
These rotten people are just out to take advantage of folks. They automatically sign you up for a meaningless membership that actually does not provide a single benefit except to line their pockets!
I objected when I discovered they were charging me every month for A YEAR! They refunded just 3 months of charges. Don't let them get away with it!
I bought the rainbow beanies a couple of years ago and had no issues. Well, they had some awesome looking rainbow American flag stickers, so I figured I'd give em another try. My mistake was to order two kinds of stickers, I got six of the same ones instead of three and three. Now I am struggling to get my money refunded and they charged me another $20. Do not buy from Fans of Free.
I just discovered that I've been charged &19.99 monthly on my credit card by Fans of Free for several months. I called them and they said when I ordered beanies (2) from them awhile back, I was offered and indicated that I wanted an additional one for $1. (Who wouldn't take advantage of that, right?) Because I marked it, there was supposedly small print which then signed me up for this $19.99 monthly charge I never knew about. I hate businesses like this! Grrr…I asked for a refund. I will report back on their response.
I ordered a couple items last month and today I have a charge from them for $19.99. They claim that I agreed to a membership which I did not do. They must've had some teeny tiny, itty-bitty, nobody can read it, fine print somewhere on the order screen. Rude.
These people are real sneaky, if your not careful they will keep charging you $19.99 every month if you dont watch out. They Sign you up for a Membership fee charged monthly without you even knowing it!
I ordered one of their rainbow beanies on Feb 27th 2021 - they accepted my money from visa but they never sent the product and after 5 emails to the company not one reply. Even contacted shopify by they don't seem to be much help either want me to try my bank to get the money back. Ya right...
Stiffing people is a crime!
I was wrongly charged $19.99 this morning. It was an automatic deduction. I did NOT willingly sign up for a membership. I do not want to be a member and I did not agree to be one. I ordered a free pride flag a few weeks ago and it cost like $5 total. That I agreed to pay, nothing more. It is unfair that I was signed up for something without my knowledge. I expect a refund to be deposited to my account and this supposed membership canceled.
Nowhere in the terms of service can I find mention of a 'membership fee'. I've also had at least two charges of 19.99 and want out. Tried to FB message ("responds immediately") Nope. Trying to contact to cancel is not easy. I'm saddened a site that promotes equal rights operates like this.
They have been taking $20 out of my account since January (or even further back) of this year! I just saw today as I do not check my statement often (but I sure as hell will now!). This website is a ridiculous scam and a joke. It's sad they pretend to support the queer community, but rip people off just as well!
Loved what i ordered from them, didn't love them auto signing me up for $19.99/month membership! Disputed with bank, just now, so will see if i get money back. Urg
The thing that most people didn't get was the fine print. I caught it but it automatically signed you up for a membership for free and if you don't cancel it within a certain amount of time you will be charge the 19.99. I personally enjoy the items I get off of this site and I probably will continue to order off of this site but there's just no reason to sign up for a membership.
As others have mentioned, I made a purchase from this site, and then saw I had been charged $19.99 for a "membership" fee. But before I saw that initial charge, I made a second purchase. Guess what? They charged me the $19.99 fee twice a month! So far, they have not responded to my email requesting cancellation and refund.
I bought 4 rainbow beanies for $20... luckily, I check my account and noticed an additional charge for $19.99... this is for an unauthorized membership that I NEVER agreed to. When I called I got someone from their answering service and was told that these are the only type of calls she gets for this business.
Do not buy from these crooks! I ordered 4 masks. Within 24 hours, or less I wrote them to cancel my order. They did cancel my order, but took my money anyway. THIEVES
I bought a necklace and 3 bracelets on there. Next month, I get a charge for 19.99. I assumed it was for what i bought. But I got charged that amount once a month for 3 months before I noticed. They are scammers! And the products aren't worth the trouble. They're good, but not great.
In June 2017, I purchased a rainbow flag to hang outside my house to honor my 11 year old gay son. I did NOT know that when I purchased the flag, I was also signing up for a membership. Fast forward to June 2018, I realized $19.99 was taken out of my acct. Upon further investigation, I realized that $19.99 had been taken out every month for an entire year! I called my bank and they were ready to dispute the charges but asked to me first call and try to resolve this myself. I did. They reimbursed me three of the twelve charges. I called again. They reimbursed three more. I called again. And again. To this day, I've had nine of the twelve charges reimbursed. I've been mocked on the phone by their employees. I've gotten no response on email.
I will continue to support my son but I will stay far away from FANS OF FREE. There are several options out there to shop for LGBTQ+ apparel and accessories and I plan to use those other options.
I ordered from this website in June. One single payment for an item for $7.95. I did not realize until today (the 21st of October) that this website has been taking $19.99 out of my account every month since then. So, on top of the intial payment, I have now had $80 taken out of my account, completely unauthorized. What I bought was not a subscription. It was a single flag. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS WEBSITE.
Been ordering too hand out to youth coming out. Never an issue with delivery or quality of the flags. I'm a loyal customer for life
After placing a $15 order plus shipping they began stealing $19.95 a month from me for more than a year. After purchasing items advertised on Facebook, totalling $15 plus shipping, $19.95 total, I was signed up for $19.95 per month "membership" without warning and billed $19.99 a month for more than a year. There must have been some kind of trickery, fine print, etc. I have seen they have numerous complaints to the BBB for the exact same reason. I used my AMEX card. I had an eye problem and was not able to check my AMEX statements closely, and since I have auto-pay with AMEX I wasn't concerned. I finally noticed this monthly theft after a year. AMEX put a hold on their theivery, and said they could only credit me for three months. This so-called merchant refunded three additional months, but there are still six months they refuse to credit. The ONLY amount I should be charged is the original $19.95.
Answer: You withdrew $19.99 from my debit card on 11/09/20@ 11:44am with no consent from me. I have no idea who you are. Please refund my money.
