I had a very good time! The biggest part that I wasn't satisfied with was too many tours. There wasn't enough time to just soak up the environment. Overall, I'm very happy I chose to go and have some wonderful memories!
To be honest I don't think the value is there. I pay $145 per month for the next 18 months for a list of events I can go to of which some of them I have to pay for... Some events are interesting but for the most part its going to bars and seeing the same people... yes they are nice people for the most part but its not for me so I have basically just given up... wish I could get out of the contract... I dont think its fair I have to stay for the 18 months if I am not going to participate... It should be on a month to month basis... I feel like you have me over a barrel...
E+A, well, I did have a whole lot of fun with this group when it was going strong. I have a feeling this group will NEVER be the same. What was supposed to be a fun filled event for me turned out to be DRAMA-not for me! I'm actually glad I'm no longer part of this group anymore. I was treated poorly towards the end. Big shout out: Don't get engaged with this filthy con company! This pack of crooks use fake photos ( perhaps stolen from porn stars' Instagram accounts). You can't trust any profile there! When I want a hook up I use BazooGirl. Comservice. They worked out perfectly for me every time I turned to them. But that was in the time when people could travel without restrictions. Now I use them just to have fun online when I feel horny. Eventsandadventures is not suitable even for this because it's all fake!
Felt very scammy to me. They are extremely agressive and pushy when you first show interest. They wont tell you prices until youve filled out all their paperwork and had a 1 hr video conference with them. During they call, they want to verify your identity with 2 forms of ID and they recommended i show them my credit cards and passport. When I told them this was suspicious and I want to cancel my call, they stopped responding to me all together. I dodged a bullet, you should too.
I don't feel safe in terms of my health because I never heard or mentioned that the bus was sanitized everyday before we hopped on it. Also, there was no hand sanitizer can be found in the bus nor the tour leader or guide offered it. Also few members are coughing and sneezing and they're not protecting others by wearing mask or sit maybe at the very back sort of isolate themselves. I have to wear mask to protect from these members and flying with them in the plane back home. I have to keep at least 3 ft during conversation as well. They may misjudged me but I have to keep myself protected and sure indeed some travelers in the tour were tested positive for covid19. Incubation period is anywhere from 5-9 days in which very clearly I'm was not wrong to be cautious by wearing mask. I was the only one wearing mask and at the end, I never suffer any symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection especially covid19. Somewhat disorganized since our tour leader it's her first time to lead international trip and she drinks a lot too compared to the other trips I did in Galapagos and Alaska. Emily and Reed never drink more than 1 drink of alcohol if they do. They literally refused offers from the other members. Also, iterinary can be improved for options between age group since different age group can do or can't do the same thing. The tour can't be catered to one person who doesn't want to walk far and this spoils the rests of the group who wanted to walk or hike further for more adventures. This issue was fixed in Galapagos since the age group is way varied
E&A takes all the work out of finding, scheduling and organizing fun things to do after work and on weekends. Moved to DFW after grad school and am grateful to the group for being my social structure. Join the group and come join events!
I participated in many of the Denver, Colorado monthly events during my two-year membership, such as disc golf, volleyball, putt-putt, board game night, not to mention socializing at BBQs, happy hours, and themed parties. I also traveled abroad to Portugal, Spain, Italy, England and France with E&A. I met several wonderful people, which I hope to maintain their friendship in the future.
I chose not to renew my membership due to time constraints with my new job. For the past year, I was not able to attend alot of the events and it was not financially beneficial to continue.
I've been quite happy with Events & Adventures (E&A) in the six months that I've been a member of the San Francisco / San Jose group. It's great to be able to enjoy planned group activities with other single people on such a regular basis. I'm getting to recognize and know people that I've seen on multiple events.
At the moment I am a paying member with a frozen account Let that sink in. Due to COVID-19 the State ordered "Shelter at home" order I have not worked since Wednesday March 11th. I asked them if I could temporarily suspend my account due to the situation and they refused this. They said "Monthly payment is still owed or else we will send your account to collections" according to the documents that I signed in December. I should note, I was not provided a copy of this document to take home in December, not sure if this matters or not, but I was trying to refer to this and was not able to. At first I just wanted to suspend my account but they have me so upset over this I just want to completely cancel. I have no income, worried about paying rent, have three mouths to feed and I am getting hit with this extra non-essential expense. Greedy owners. Stay away.
They told me there were be more events I would be interested in(art) made me do the 24month "deal", once a part I tried to sign up for events All were booked a month in advanced. And wouldn't let me sign up. When I called no answer after that I decided to end membership since going to the events was more expensive than what I was doing originally. When I called to cancel my membership they were rude gaslight me, yelled at me and highly unprofessional and hung up on me. They rufused to end my membership. After the abuse on the phone how could I ever trust them to help and be supportive? They do not care about their "members". They refuse to end membership and now I'm scared to go to events. They basically told me to deal with it and that I'd have to keep paying.
Great way to meet new people and enjoy different adventures outside your comfort zone. I thoroughly enjoyed E&A so far. I've travelled internationally and had the time of my life.
More than half the activities are outside Vancouver. Langley/Surrey/Port Moody ect. Age range averages more than 40 years old. It's good people, but not what I envisioned or was sold on.
I had the unfortunate experience of joining "Events and Adventures," and I must say it was a complete waste of time and money. This company promises exciting events and the chance to meet interesting people, but in reality, it's nothing more than a money-grabbing scheme.
First and foremost, the financial aspect of this service is outrageous. They demand thousands of dollars upfront, followed by a $30 monthly fee, and then some of the events charge you extra to attend. It's like they are squeezing every last penny out of their members, leaving you feeling like a walking wallet.
To make matters worse, their cancellation policy is ridiculously unfair. You have a mere three days to cancel after joining before you're roped into this financial nightmare. They are fully aware that it takes time to truly understand the value (or lack thereof) in their service, yet they purposefully trap you in a contract with very little room for reconsideration.
But the financial aspect isn't even the worst part. The people I met through "Events and Adventures" were far from the interesting, like-minded individuals they promised. Instead, I found myself surrounded by individuals I would never willingly associate with in my normal life. It was a collection of people who seemed to have nothing in common with me, and the awkwardness of these encounters was simply unbearable.
In summary, "Events and Adventures" is a company that preys on the vulnerable desire for social interaction and adventure while robbing you blind. The exorbitant upfront and monthly fees, coupled with event charges, create a financial burden that's difficult to justify. On top of that, the people you meet may not be the kind of individuals you want to spend your time with. Save your money and look for social opportunities elsewhere; you'll thank yourself later.
PATHETIC COMPANY! Stay away from them!
Their sales rep/manager used every high pressure sales tactic in the book. When I politely thing you for your time and tried to leave, she actually chased to the door with more high pressure sales tactics. She kept interruption me and when I just left, she yelled at me "that why you're single." What a pathetic, miserable and desperate person! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
Variety, spice of life!
A little bit of this, a little bit of that/ Choice is what I enjoy from E&A. A spectrum from snorkeling with seals to paragliding, to wine tasting to eclectic dining, intactive theatre and ETC.
I have enjoyed my short time with E & A. I feel that events should be planned with more spaces. Example some of the featured events like the Glass Blowing, Party Buses get filled up very quickly.
For the cost of the membership, which is extremely expensive, I would expect to see more events on the calendar and not have to pay for events on top of the membership. I understand there is an additional cost associated with signing up for some activities, but I don't understand how the costs of the events are calculated. I have gone onto websites of places I signed up for and have looked up their prices, and I'm usually being charged more than what that place actually charges. The events tend to be hosted more in Chicago and not the suburbs, which is frustrating. Anyone who lives in IL knows it is very difficult for suburban's to drive into Chicago during the week because of traffic. Many members have asked for events to be mirrored, so if you are hosting an event in Chicago chances are you can host that exact same event in the Suburbs on the same day. There's a lot of bowling alleys and driving ranges in the area, and I've been told we have plenty of hosts. I think other cities do a better job with mirroring events from what I've seen on the calendars. Many members have voiced concerns and given many suggestions of event ideas and places to host over the past several months and it seems to fall on deaf ears. Most members I talk to will not renew their membership once it ends.
Sign up: Aggressive sales tactics with plans that are priced to lead you into longer terms. The contracts have a 3 day cancellation period which doesn't even give you a chance to try out the service. Once the 3 days are up, you are locked in like a greasy gym membership. The sales person I dealt with claimed that there was a ratio of 2:1 women to men. This was a lie.
Events: The event leads were friendly enough. The people were a mix of social and anti social. Some of the events were great but I am not convinced that it was worth the money they are asking.
Organization: This company is awful to deal with. The website is out of date and should be updated. At the core they only care about the money. There was no flexibility shown during Covid and they were holding front line workers to their contracts. Other than myself I personally knew a couple more.
Overall I would stay away until they change their oppressive contract policy. This is a sign that they are not confident in their product as if you want to quit for any reason, you should be able to. Imagine meeting someone 2 months in and then being forced to pay for a 3 year term all because you have been coerced into a long term plan based on "saving money".
They will never get me back as a client and I would suggest staying away.
This company is a scam, I agreed on the service on January 21st, 2021, and tried to cancel the service on the 4th day and it's not possible, I dispute the transaction through my credit card, and a year and a half later, March 21st, 2022, I received a letter from a debt collector about this, they are ruining my credit score for a fake service
Answer: Negligence, lack of research, or maybe stupidity. The worst financial mistake I've made in a very long time!
