Sadly, I failed to impress the site after doing some tests. Otherwise, it pays per word i. E.$0.02cents+ and depending on your ratings you could rank among the highest paid writers on the site. So the more you get the better you are!

“They say they have a lot of work, but unless you log...”

They say they have a lot of work, but unless you log on at about 2 pm EST, you won't find any. Also, it's very difficult, even in the new ranking system, to find jobs that pay more than $. 03/word. The instructions are sometimes unclear, and although they are willing to help, I have taken assignments that start out saying if you can't follow the directions, you will not be paid. And then they will levy a disproportionate penalty so you can't get work unless you're willing to work for $. 01/word.

There are much better sites out there to write for. Ecopywriters sends out pleas for help with rush orders or editing, but then completely ignores emails that are returned to them. They also will downgrade your account without explanation, and disable it if you question anything they have done. Heck of a way to do business! I see that most people on this site seem to agree with my assessment--- except for those two glowing recommendations on 7/25/09-- which look suspiciously like something they wrote themselves or had somebody else do for them...

I registered to be a writer on this site, but then I got a new job and so no longer wished to receive emails from them. However, they provide NO WAY to cancel your account on their website. After numerous emails and unsuccessful phone calls I have gotten no response and am still getting spam from them. I am at my wits end!

I signed up with this company to do writing jobs. I submitted a writing sample, and then waited for their response. And I waited and waited and waited. I contacted them several times inquiring about what the delay was in the way of a decision on my writing sample. Sent them the following message today --

"Perhaps I can finally get a response from you people, maybe. My writing sample has been submitted and has been 'under review' for about a month or more now. And no peep from you about what the holdup is. I want an answer, and if I don't get one in a couple of days, then I will just mosey on over to the Better Business Bureau website and talk to them about you."

-- And here was their response to me --

"We sincerely apologize for the delay. However, we have hundreds of authors submitting writing samples on a weekly basis, which has made our approval process more time-intensive than we'd originally anticipated.

That being said, part of our company policy includes not responding to threats, which your email appears to be. While you might have been considered for approval, we'll now need to remove you from our system entirely."

-- All I was trying to do was find out what the status of the review of my writing sample was. Now I am out entirely. What if they are some kind of scam website? I don't appreciate their response at all, and am very suspicious of them now. Would recommend anyone to avoid this website.

Today, November 21,2009, they have decided to deactivate my account because I asked for payment. They owe me $15 on an article I wrote on October 30th. They promise to pay on the 1st and the 15th of each month. Now she has disabled my account and SAID she'd pay by the end of the YEAR! I am contacting the Better Business Bureau. This could be so demeaning for a new writer. Here is the most recent discourse: From last exchange to first, per email forwarding standards.

Once this has been taken care of, we'll go ahead and remove your information from our system entirely so that you're no longer bothered with eCopywriters-related matters.

October, 2009
They have big glitches in paying, using the excuse that they are a new company (6 months). There is no reason why something I write on October 8th is getting paid on November 15th. They accepted my sample and then jobs are posted under my login page from which I can select. It seemed great, as I could pick and choose, and prove my way up to a higher level, out of three levels and payment rates.

This is a great place to work - lots of work and really nice people who run it - I would recommend any copywriters looking for work sign up and give them a try!

They are an ok company to work for and the pay is modest. They can be a little slow in their approval process of submissions. The expectations for the writers are usually clear. It's a good site for supplemental income.

This is a good place to make a little extra money, but their system has few drawbacks and it can take a long time to get paid.

I have been working for ecopywriters for about three months and I have never had any issues with them at all. Overall I have been very happy with ecopywriters.com and the jobs they give us. two thumbs up from me!
