I enrolled my 13-year-old daughter in eChineseLearning's classes for heritage learners. We adopted her from Guangzhou when she was a baby, and we feel like it's important for her to have some connection to her home. I was adopted myself, so this is really important to me.

Without a doubt, choosing eChineseLearning was a great decision. The teachers are really generous and patient, and I can tell my daughter is learning a lot about the language and culture. I hope she can learn a lot about herself too!

I was so nervous about my HSK level 4 test. There ewas just too much to master on my own--and I haven't been able to get confidence with my tones like I would like. Finding Ellie turned my study world around. She has completely changed my attitude towards Mandarin, instead of dreading it I look forward to our lessons three times a week. I've been studying for the HSK for a year, by myself, and I was ready to rip my hair out. Thank goodness I found Joyce here at echinese. She has totally made it 1. FUN for me to learn. 2. Do-able, she really breaks up the learning points so I can understand them and 3. Made me feel like I'm at home with her, I no longer view Chinese as a super foreign language, it feels more familiar now having known her. I had been looking for a job in the architecture field in China, as their growth is booming and an architect has so many possibilities. I decided that, to communicate with my future Chinese co-workers, I wanted to at least have basic to intermediate Mandarin skills before arriving in China.

One-on-one lessons with a tutor in Chicago were much more expensive than I was expecting + the commute and setting up meeting times that worked for both of us. Just as my son teaches Chinese kids English online, I decided to go with online Mandarin Chinese lessons.

I took a few free trials and went with eChineseLearning, as I liked the natural, face-to-face feeling of their lessons.

I eventually passed a job interview (my basic Chinese seemed to charm the managers) and I'll be moving to Beijing in a few weeks. I'm happy to say I'll be able to continue my lessons online in China while practicing on the street.

Chinese is no joke, but my teacher was fun! I actually struggled to learn for so long because I couldn't find a teacher that was an actual human being. My teacher with eChineseLearning was different. I have terrible test anxiety and knew after the HSK 1 that I needed help studying. I just want to thank the teachers for putting me at ease and giving me a structured plan to keep me focused and pass the HSK2 without much sweat this time around.

I have loved this service so far. I have taken classes with them for a week now and started out with the free trial. In the free trial, you get to meet a teacher for 30 minutes and do a mini lesson. I actually learned a bunch of Chinese just from this! The teacher was so funny and sweet. It was a lot of fun and a very encouraging way to start learning. The classes are with a primary teacher and when she isn't available at the time I want, I can meet with another teacher online. It is very easy scheduling classes and you can cancel and reschedule as you please. Very convenient!

The trouble with Chinese when you're learning it in the classroom is that you don't always get personal attention. My classmates and I were doing a lot of listening but not enough speaking. Often, the teacher would break us into groups and have us practice speaking with each other, but the tones meant that we were absorbing the speaking mistakes of our classmates.
To get more speaking practice, I worked with a "study buddy" from China enrolled in my uni, but they weren't professional teachers and couldn't quite guide me as well as I wanted.
I heard about online lessons so I signed up for a kind of free test with eChineseLearning. The teacher helped me find my strengths and weaknesses and make a study plan. I signed up for 1-on-1 lessons and my speaking has improved greatly since then. Getting personalized feedback each step of the way has been a real game changer!

Learning Mandarin is impossible, right?

Wrong.

From anywhere in the world now you can study with a pro teacher in China. You can still work at your job and yet go face-to-face with a teacher in China. There are a few famous sites for this and www.echineselearning.com is the most famous of them.

I was super scared to begin Chinese, but I figured that it's the best language to learn at this time. I speak decent Spanish but it hasn't exactly opened any doors for me.

I went with Chinese over Arabic, because my career as an engineer could benefit greatly from it.

I haven't regretted going with this company. JUST BE SURE YOU HAVE STRONG INTERNET! You're lessons will drop out if you aren't connected well.

Who can imagine that while 6 months ago Chinese characters were like an abstract painting to me but now I can write about 100 characters! Thanks to eChineseLearning's teaching I feel confident about writing Chinese characters now.
Writing has always been a big problem for me because, in my eyes, there are no rules for writng Chinese characters. And it's hard for me to connect the pronunciation with the shape of them too. My friend Jenny, who also loves Chinese culture and has been learning it for 3 years recommended that I try a class with eChineseLearning. The teacher is patient, professional as well as humorous and she tells me the meaning of characters to help me understand and remember them. I love the Chinese mnemonics.

I had the choice of spending $ on study abroad (1 semester) to learn mandarin, or I could put my money towards 2 years with eChineseLearning. So much more affordable, and I'm so glad I chose them. I keep on the classes with my assigned teacher, and she keeps pushing my pronunciation, accent, the tones, everything. Never could have learned the amount of vocab I learned from that study abroad semester.

It's all about the teacher with language learninng, and I can't say enough good things about my eChineseLearning teacher--so much fun to talk with, and has been helping me so much, not only learning the language but also learning the culture. Chinese is difficult, and she has made it easy to continue plugging away.

I was struggling in my chinese course and really worried about passing the SAT Chinese test until I found my teacher here. She has been the best guide to get my confidence up and really soak in the language. Now I'm a pinyin pro, know how to differentiate between the simplified and traditional characters and can get the tones. Plus, I passed the test. Icing on the cake! Learning mandarin is fun in and of itself, once you get the hang of it.

I wanted to learn Mandarin because of my job in finance and settled on echineselearning because they offer industry-specific lessons. So far I have done 6 months of lessons, twice per week, and am very satisfied with the progress I've been able to make. I wasn't able to find Mandarin that was tailored to the complex vocabulary that is the world of finance, and my teacher was able to provide vocabulary lists that matched exact words I need to use on a daily basis with competitors and colleagues in China. Definitely worth the time and money.

When I started studying with eChineseLearning, I was nervous that I would not be able to keep up with the way that the pronunciation and lessons work. After taking just 1 lesson, and observing how patient and friendly the tutor was, I was able to easily grasp the material. My experience was amazingly good, especially given that the tutor was willing to wait for me to understand the material, and also because the tutor was willing to be very patient with me when practicing the pronunciation.

I honestly couldn't stand learning Mandarin at first. It was just so difficult--and felt more like memorizing equations than learning a language. I was pretty disappointed after a year at University. Then I found Becky and she completely transformed the way I look at learning any language, but especially Chinese. It HAS to be done with another person, just HAS to. It's not living, otherwise, and therefore no fun. Couldn't do Mandarin without Becky and wouldn't want to!

I took a speaking class because I want to be able to make Chinese friends and talk to locals during a trip China. I ran across eChineseLearning on YouTube, and have learned a lot from their videos!

When I finally booked a class, I was so frustrated because the tones were just going right over my head. Thank God my teacher was patient - she corrected me again and again and showed me the right way to say them, even when I kept making mistakes and saying them wrong over and over. To be honest, these tones just about drove me over the edge! But after practicing about a million times and getting feedback from my teacher, I can finally say all the tones - ā á ǎ à - perfectly!

Chinese tones are pretty interesting - and very, very different from English. But these days, being able to speak Chinese is considered "cool"! I think I made the right decision - first, to learn Chinese in the first place, and second, to learn it with eChineseLearning.

I have had a good experience with eChineseLearning. I needed to prepare for the IB Chinese B SL exam, which is roughly equal to the HSK 5. I had only taken two years of Chinese in high school before that, so I was having a really hard time keeping up with the other students in my class, who were mostly Chinese themselves. My mom suggested I try online classes, and signed me up to do lessons three times a week. Having someone explain everything to me one-on-one really helped. I ended up getting a 6 on the exam - which is pretty good considering I didn't think I would even pass at all for a while. So I would definitely say it was worth it.
