Worst customer service I've seen/experienced of all downloading game services (must worse that Steam, GOG.com, etc). It took them MONTHS to respond to a question I had about downloading and playing a game. I paid $20 dollars for the game and was never able to get it to work. Good luck hearing back from them if you ever have a problem. Stick with Steam if you can.

Let the buyer beware -
This online vendor does not stand behind what it sells. They charge your credit card immediately. That is the extent of their involvement. I waited two hours for a download to complete, and then when it did, the software did not work. The company took a week to get back to me, and had no solution. I quote - "Please note that Direct2Drive is not a developer, we are a retailer exclusively and we merely sell games! We do recommend that you contact your game's support team directly" Thank you so much!
A ripoff! Go to a bricks and mortar or Amazon - but avoid this place.
Get your games cheap and fast online - I have found that it is much cheaper to download my games from direct2drive than to pay for them at the store. The other option is of course just getting the games from kazaa or limewire that have been hacked. But then you run the risk of viruses. I prefer to play it safe and avoid the viruses and get my games legit from this website. Plus they will give you discount coupons if you buy from them often.
Rip Off they have no Phone Number to contact them if you have a problem and will not even talk about refund in a email to that,. Besides the fact that I can't download the Game I paid for $49.99 the emails never answer or addrss the problems beware of this site.
I have used this site for a year now and it has become the main way I buy my new games. They have killer deals sometimes and you have to just keep checking to find them. Last month they had downloadable games for 5 bucks and in the stores they cost around 30-50 bucks. Great deals are possible on this site and it is very legal.
I recently downloaded a game. The activation key did not work. There is no phone number to call. I filed a service ticket on their support link but have not heard back. They have my money, I have no game and no way of pursuing it except to file a complaint with my credit card company. D2D may yet resolve the problem but if they are not going to provide a phone number, they should at least respond quickly to emails.
A few years ago, I bought a game from GameFly. I assume others have been in my shoes. Today, I tried to transfer the data to a new laptop but couldn't activate it, which led me to contact GameFly. They told me that it was purchased when Direct2Drive (atgames holdings) was still with them but they've since gone their separate ways. I was told to contact Direct2Drive, which many of you probably already figured out is impossible. With a quick search on MANTA, I was able to locate a number to call, which quickly goes to voicemail. Who runs a business this way? How disgusting that they are allowed to just not respond to customers.
I don't know what's worse, then not taking calls or emails; or, GameFly leaving their customers out in the cold. Anyway, here's the link: https://www.manta.com/c/mmlf82v/direct2drive-com
Cheers! And, good luck.
When Gamefly bought them many gamers lost purchases not tied to Steam or Origin. They almost made me lose faith in digital purchasing. No reason to ever give them business again. Buyer beware.
Not sure why I'm getting an email welcoming me to the site I haven't used in many years, but my having tried using Firefox and Internet Explorer to contact support (3 times) resulted in some sort of glitch that kept me from being able to do so. I had once (2006) used the site to download COD2 and Sid Meier's Pirates, but stopped once I realized that I would need the help of support every time I set up a new computer and want to install my games. This was a long long time ago, before they switched ownership.
EDIT: I did get the support to answer me after I posted this same review on their facebook page. After 4 months I finally have the game.
I had bought a lot of games from gamefly and it always went smoothly... then they changed to Direct2Drive and I bought watchdogs from them in december. The activation code did not work. I contected them repeatedly and they eventually sent me to ubisoft support for help. Ubisoft replied telling me that the key was already in use and to ask them for a refund or replacement. I did that, and I have a long list of back and forth replies with them. In the end they thought I had activated the account on some other account I had. (obviously that didn't happen).
So here is when I contacted Ubisoft support again... they told me that the key was indeed activated on another account... that the account was not associated with my name in any way and that they could confirm that some keys had been acquired with a credit card fraud. In the meantime I was still trying to keep in contact with Direct2Drive, but they stopped replying a long time ago.
It's a scam, don't buy from them.
