I like daz a lot. I have very few complaints, and most are around the clunky library filtering system within the program which make it hard to find products when you buy as much as i do...
I used to be a big fan of Daz3D, Hexagon, and Poser suites. I was a Platinum Member for years! I was active in the forums and helped out all the new people as best I could. I am currently seeking legal counsel because they changed my password at an administrative level and locked me out of the network completely. They erased my purchase history on their end to punish me (my words not theirs) for words exchanged when I was trying to cancel my premium membership a few years ago (which I did apologize for then and did again in recent communications, as I was under the impression that it was squashed there, nope, it was obviously personal). I did not realize any of this until now, my hard disk took a dive and I lost all my modelling software and assets. I decided to stop by and see what I could utilize now out of my assets, and I realized that my account had been locked, obviously since over three years ago...
So - a great product, but a terrible business, with completely dishonest practices, and moderated by petty people. They will steal from you and not think anything of it! They got me for thousands in the end, and I have zilch to show for it...
Nab the free goods and run!
(I will update this later, as I am waiting on a records search from my bank and PayPal now, the bulk of my purchases took place between 2010 and 2012, I will get screenshots of the lists to show how much I spent)
When you buy stuff, it has no quicklinks to the product page. You have to go to the order first.
The Daz+ subs and deals are annoying, making it harder to price stuff. Just have the same deals for everyone.
Do a Linux verison.
Always quick and easy to complete an order at DAZ.
Wish there were better ways to filter products in the store.
For example, would love to see a filter for textures of items already owned.
Very happy with the website. It has come a long way and has really improved by leaps and bounds. Good value for money if you are willing to wait for good sales or get the platinum members club card.
I'm trying to get back into Poser but want to learn Daz as well. It's been 10+ years since I've used a 3D program.
I'm very thankful for the sales DAZ has.
I really like what daz3d is doing. One feedback is that it would be great the store could be fixed so when a customer filters by people it shows only people and not clothes/expressions/etc.
Expensive, coupon codes don't work after logging in. Thousands of $$ in assets and premium membership, but still take a reaming with full priced sodomy. Do better for your customers
Everything works well and never have any problems, just wish the discounts came around when I needed something, hahaha.
My only problem is with DAZ Central not being able to filter by category like I can do in DAZ Studio.
All good. I just accidentally put a few things in my cart that i had to take out again when i realized they weren't complete characters but relied on owning another product.
Tried to pay with my (stored) debit card 3 times and got an error each time. Finally paid with PayPal - using the same card - and it went through fine.
Often the promo images show items not mentioned after the
Description ( hair, clothes, and so on). It would be useful to know, at least, the name of that items.
Sale pricing isn't reflected in cart -- I ended up paying more than 2x the price that's shown on the product pages. I'm a Daz+ member, and was logged in, and yet prices were all wrong.
The producta are good but I can't open the studio. Also, there should be more tattoos for genesis 8 male.
Sale items were supposed to be 55% + "an extra 20%" if I purchased a 'startling' item, which I did but the items sold at 64% off not 75% like I was supposed to receive. Unhappy customer.
Who doesn't like to play God? Creating characters and worlds in Daz3D gives an ordinary person like me insight into how it must have felt for God to bring the universe to life.
I've had a number of technical issues recently with my product purchases and my account and the support response have been abysmal.
If not for those issues the score would be much higher.
Always quick and easy and gets things done. Would be nice for better organizing to see orders. After you buy somethings its difficult to go through orders and find something on the website.
Love me my daz. I come back again and again because of the great customer support. Could be a bit faster but always helpful and on point
I like the occasional free stuff. Not buying a lot of new stuff because my computer is old and can't function well with Genesis 8. My newer computer doesnt support Nvidia cards so...
Well there was a free bundle. So I like free. It is appreciated.
I found some items worth purchasing with the discount
Shop itself could have better searching and filtering. Sometimes it is hard to find asset for specific fugura and of its kind (like when I am trying to find hair and what shop offers me are faces - not good).
Also, sometimes it is not obvous what is actually in the package so I accidentaly several times bought something that is actrually useless (like when I was after christmass tree and it turns out the package only contains decorations.
About the Studio itself I cannot say nothing bad. Absolutelly got into this!
Answer: You get 3 free transfers then there is a cost to upgrade to unlimited. I found a much better program FaceGen Artist Pro. It's pricey at $139 but gives much better results than the built in face transfer.
Answer: Daz has a free transfer program on their website for blender, maya and many more. Works good!
Answer: No, Daz Studio does animation. You will render your animation series.
Answer: Daz3D will not read those files, as they are just text. However, the files can be "rendered" as an image, for use within Daz3D. Or, if you are asking about the other side of things, Daz3D can render images or video, which can be used along with your presentations. Both of those formats you mention, do not normally include "video formats". Neither of them are "image formats". PDF is just a text layout format for printing pages. MS-Word is just a text-formatting program, for use with printing too, for direct display in MS-Word, or on printed paper. However, it can export in other formats. (Not to be confused with "Word pad".) If you can put the words on an image, in any form, they can be used within Daz3D, for display. However, Daz does not have any form of "text-rendering code", to convert text into 3D objects.
Answer: When you register with the website, you will be given a code that is entered for you. If that fails, for whatever reason, you can go to your profile page and locate all "license codes", used to activate all the free items which may need them. (Or the paid programs, if you buy them.)
Daz3D has a rating of 3.6 stars from 1,447 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Daz3D most frequently mention good experience, customer service and high quality. Daz3D ranks 2nd among Graphic Design sites.
