I recently purchased a case of gloves from critical tool. Website was very easy to navigate and many options available. Prices are competitive. Items arrived very quickly especially for the "Covid times" we live in. Will recommend to others!
Customer service may seem nice and helpful, but they have no intention of helping to resolve problems. They do not return calls and give wrong information just to get you off the phone. This caused a delay in cancelling an order which resulted in a 20% restocking fee and return postage totaling $361 and a bill from UPS (supposedly free shipping?) of over $900. The company doesn't stock anything, they try to drop ship from the manufacturer, they have bad relationships with these manufacturers, which causes a lack of communication and Critical Tool blames everyone else for their inadequacies and problems they cause. Use another company, or you'll be very sorry. Ordered from ZORO, product came in one day and it was free shipping and no problems.
I visited their website and after creating an account put in an order. I was given a total amount and the amount which was stated was immediately charged to my card. I woke up the next morning to see that I had been charged again, this time for ~$5 more than originally stated.
When I went to check why my account was charged twice I realized that the website now said my order was cancelled with no reason specified and also that the second amount I was charged was nowhere to be seen on the invoice.
I contacted their customer support and received a reply which, in a very rude way, told me that I was not charged twice (I was) and that it was because taxes had not been accounted for in the first charge (admitting I was double-charged.) What professional company doesn't have a way of calculating taxes on a purchase? The representative said my order was cancelled because I was "not an existing customer" (why are you taking new orders if you're NOT taking new orders?) and that they couldn't contact me because they didn't have my email (which they did because I had created an account with my email AND I had received a confirmation email after placing my order).
I am writing this review in hopes that any new customers looking to buy from CriticalTool.com (or their parent company LabSource.com) will steer clear of this fiasco.
There is no way these people have over 8k positive reviews. These are cloned, fake. I took a chance and ordered a Hi-V raincoat. This order was assigned a PO # and email confirmation was received. That day, I requested a quote for several more for my Fire Department. Now that I had an online account, I thought I'd check on the quote. However, I noted I had an email from these people. It was a PHOTOGRAPH, from them, a mobile phone used, for a Quote? That's right, unprofessional. I continue to login in and learned these folks tried to take my quote request and make it an actual order without our consent. I was livid, it doesn't happen by accident. Since they never bothered to return any emails I'd sent, I called. Some lady answered and told me it's a glitch. A "glitch" that in their favor, orders a $700.00 order without consent, along side my original, $66.00 order. She said "it's only a quote". (Basically, they saw "company" and tried to pull a fast one." (The PO, only requested ONE) I put a stop to it. I've tried to email since my actual order had no status I can't check online *archaic)? Now, all email is returned and some dude named "Fred" I left a VM for. I'll NEVER order from them again. You shouldn't either, especially with the purchased reviews. The algorithm shows that nearly half of the reviews came within 60 days of each other of the alleged 8k reviews. My order has disappeared from my history too. Now, I'm forced to do a chargeback. **UPDATE:** I received it, the quality is what I'd expected, it's missing some you know, "features." A HOOD? Also, it's barely water resistant, NOT WATER PROOF as I took it to a MVR- Rollover and it was raining. I managed to get wet under the jacket. Ugh.
