No more gavel to gavel
February 1, 2022

Used to be the best trial coverage with very little interruption of testimony. Now there's a 5 minute commercial after every 10 minutes. Sometimes they don't even hit pause to take you back to where they left off, chopping up the entire flow of the trial. Very disappointing

I used to love Court TV, but there are 3 reasons I am having difficulty watching it now. First is Ted Rowlands. He goes into this crazy voice every so often, usually when he loses his train of thought, like he is trying to be funny, but it falls short of anything remotely funny. Secondly, there are way too many redundant commercials and the host saying "we are hitting the pause button, you won't miss a thing" is totally bogus. When they go back in, clearly it is not where it was paused. The third reason is the fact that there is way too much commentary by talking heads who are simply rendering an opinion, not based on any particular case law. More along the lines of entertainment than enlightenment. The only enjoyable part of Court TV is the evening recap by Vinnie Politan. I will continue to watch that.

I like watching court tv. What bothers me is that most of not all of the hosts on the show are former prosecutors or judges, which makes them pro- pro prosecution. They don't look at trials with a open mind. Unfortunately they are like most people in the media. The law states every defendant is presumed innocent. But just as soon as media gets involved the general thinking isnt presumed innocent,it's assumed guilty. And because of that,I do have some reservations about the show being impartial. Hire some former criminal defense lawyers and let them debate the prosecutor and judges that host the shows.Or at least have all hosts, keep their opinions to themselves.

Awful programm.
October 20, 2022

The whole format, editing and biased reporting is so unprofessional. Seriously lacking in quality. Cheap sensationalism, only seeking viewership quantity for the sole purpose of trying to get more advertisers to sponsor this channel. Profit for Court TV is job number one. Journalism is a far far second place.

I love Court TV, but the incessant commercials are ridiculous!
Also, the newest anchor, Kelly Krapf is so ditzy and a terrible interviewer. There had to be a more competent person.

This is a racist system, entertaining and pushing negative stereotypes about Black individuals and communities! Often allowing the last depiction and/or words to be degrading, dehumanizing, or cunning under-tone statements about Black People and the law, repeatedly without proper representation. Searing the idea that all Blacks are criminals, thugs, and deserving of death by execution! Coverage like this is why people believe Black Lives does not matter and we are killed by police at a higher rate for small infractions. They push bias rhetoric about Black people never giving Black People full privilege to the LAW. Black People are never allowed to be the victim! Racist Media!

Ads are way over the top
October 19, 2022

The ads are CONSTANT and they're showing the same ads 3 times in a row! There are way more ads than actual courtroom content. We don't need commentators - we just need to see the camera in the courtroom and hear what's going on. I get there needs to be commercials, but this app has way more than a normal television show. Maybe offer a version free of these annoying ads and commercials.

August 19, 2023

Well let see I turned on the TV to watch something and TV was set to your channel. I watched a little and feel asleep a little and trying to find out what is going on. There is 4 half stories being told at the same time. WHAT. Whose lame $#*! idea was this. I'm not going to watch Court TV because It is to confusing to keep up. Bye all

While the actual trials are fascinating, the amount of commercials are obscene. And the same commercials are often repeated one after the other. The hosts are okay but their opinions are often overwrought. And there is blank time too where there are no commercials and no commentary. I can no longer sit down and watch but instead occasionally turn it on for background listening while I do tasks around my home. Wish they would do better.

Disappointed!
July 22, 2021

Showing the lawyers preliminary arguing over Arbery trial coming in Sept, instead of showing the current and ongoing trial of student killed getting into wrong car, is nonsense! I am now questioning my interest in COURT TV. I am so disappointed. Unbelievable.

Today's Court TV is outstanding in their presentation, directing, and producing. All on camera reporters are excellent! Vinny is a natural leader. Please don't change a thing. In early 2019 there were a few difficult reporters to watch, but they realized this and made corrective changes. Please consider one addition to broadcasting these cases. Please add to the written script at the bottom of the screen who is doing the questioning ie prosecution or defense. Not their names but who's speaking to the person on the stand, and leave it there until there's a change. Thank you.

Awful Show!
July 12, 2024

This is hard to watch programming. Unless you appreciate all the former prosecutors "gone Hollywood" giving dramatic readings of their expert OPINIONS on what litigants and counsel are thinking, and why they behave the way they behave, don't land on this dreck to entertain or inform. Surely the show and its cast are fodder for a running skit on SNL: Think Kelly Krapf covering the Alec Baldwin trial.

It's an unfortunate aspect of our modern time that a show like Court TV (owned by Scripts Co.), decides to take one of the most important parts of American life, our judiciary system, and turn it into a reality show.

To be allowed into a courtroom to report on the proceedings should be treated as a privilege. Instead, Court TV is being allowed to turn those proceedings into a drama fest by having the hosts use incendiary language that evokes; anger, outrage, lack of empathy, etc. towards defendants.

We shouldn't allow ourselves to be hoodwinked by the 'scripted' reality-show-nature of Court TV and its hosts. While many of their 'experts' do seem to have a substantial level of expertise, Court TV producers are well aware of how each one of the hosts will comment and illicit more drama from their viewers. This is how reality shows are produced!

Sadly, reading comments on Court TV's social media pages, proves that Court TV producers are getting the exact response they intend to, a Jerry Springer-esque circus of people who are probably shouting at their screen, "Burn her, burn her." And like a terrible accident on the side of the road, few will turn away. It's up to us as citizens to decide where we will put our time, energy and money.

Because of him
May 1, 2023

I occasionally watch the court cases on court TV but because of one anchor Ted Rowlands I no longer watch. I don't like his voice, he comes off as arrogant one-sided, rude and very unprofessional. He always manages to throw a dig at someone and take sides when he supposed to be unbiased. You are not on the jury! I don't like him at all. I don't like his mannerisms or anything about him so I don't watch anymore if he's going to be on

I love Court TV and all of the trials the network air's. However it seems right when parts of the trials get juicy Judge Ashley especially! Cuts in with guest and talks over witnesses! So frustrating! I later visit "Law and Crime" network to see what I missed and was rudely interrupted. I know it's to keep us caught up on what's going on but the timing is absolutely terrible. Don't get me wrong Court TV is one of my favorite networs and I really like all of the anchors but I think they would rather see themselves on camera and that sucks for us that are really into the trials! Sorry for the complaining, however reviewing the reviews. I see I'm not the only one who feels this way. Thanks for taking time and hearing me out!

TERRIBLE COVERAGE
July 1, 2022

Court TV's excessive commercial breaks and biased reporting is the whole reason why LawTube/live trials being covered on YouTube channels (e.g., Law&Crime, Rekeita Law) have so many viewers! I used to watch Court TV but something changed with them. They have become just like the deceitful and biased MSM. I now watch every trial on YouTube. The channels are hosted by lawyers, so their commentary is engaging and intelligent.
