I ordered from Connecting Threads for the first time since the 00's. I needed some cheaper blues for a scrappy quilt. Their griege goods used to be quite inferior- scratchy, stiff, didn't wash as well. Imagine my happy suprise upon opening the packaging- the materials they sent me now were just as lovely as the highest quality that I have purchased at my local quilt shop. Very impressed.
I have been very pleased with previous purchases from Connecting Threads, but I recently used the chat feature on the website to see what fabric colors would go with a specific panel that I wanted to purchase. I was given some recommendations, which I then purchased, along with 3 of the panels. There is only 1 piece of fabric out of the 5 recommended fabric colors that go with the panels. Returning the fabrics is a big inconvenience, so I will keep it but I will look elsewhere for coordinating fabrics. Very disappointed that their customer service rep was so wrong on the colors.

I have ordered thread and fabric from Connecting Threads. I have been happy with each purchase. The quilting thread is so nice to use and the embroidery thread is gorgeous. Plenty of colors to match every fabric. I love the many fat quarter collections. The cuts are generous and if you are making any baby quilts, the pastels can't be beat. Delivery is fast and everything has been well packaged. One of my top shops for anything I need!
I buy a lot of fabrics from CT for my WoW Pillowcases so that I have the perfect colors available when making them! I also make quilts and find the perfect colors or prints from CT to finish them! With the gas prices, I find CT saves me the driving and offers many quality choices that are mailed directly to me. I love their thread and use it on my sewing machine for all my sewing projects.
I was surprised to see my credit for $14.03 less that the original purchase. Original shipping was $5.99 so even twice that would only be $11.98, Needless to say I will not be returning items again and this will affect my purchasing decisions.
I received my order in a great time frame. Qualities were very pleasant and discount was greatly appreciated.
Cannot wait to get started! Love ordering from them. Great prices and great customer service. Fast delivery, too!
I had searched and searched for a good price for backing material for a quilt top I had just completed and was visiting the Connecting Threads Web Site and found just what I needed. The little colorful flowers on the navy blue background was just what I needed. The quilt top I'd made was created with colorful, flowery scraps left in my sewing collection so the backing would be perfect with the top. I love the feel of the fabric and I was glad to get it at a good price since I needed 6 yards.
I was so happy to get this fabric. It's excellent quality and super fast shipping. I will always check Connecting Threads when I need to find what I'm looking for.
Always had a great experience with you all whether I do it online or Call thank you again
Always excellent. Love the quality of the fabrics. Have been buying from them for years. Never disappointed.
Fast service in cutting but their shipping partner is slow. When I contacted CT got notice that said delivery is in 8-12 days. DHL had item and was not sending to USPS for delivery very fast. CT needs to find a different shipping partner. There are times when you want item fast and this is slow. Ordered on 17th and it was shipped a day or two later and still DHL doesn't show that it's moving thru the system
Best order to get fat quarters and other precuts. Fabric comes and is good quilting quality cotton. Order does not take long to receive, usually by USPS. I recommend Connecting Threads.
I have ordered from Connecting Threads several times. Quality is excellent and the orders get to me within a few days so love that!
Seems I got my package in the mail just a day or two after I ordered! Talk about quick turn-around... LOVE IT.
After I got my quilt top assembled, I realized the backing fabric I had planned to use just wouldn't work. To find a blue - online especially - has been difficult for me, but I found one, ordered it and crossed my fingers. What I ordered turned out to be the perfect match and a beautiful quality fabric. It arrived in approximately a week...I'll order again!
Purchased Entwined quilt kit. Frayed. I thought it was the Americana Collection that frayed. Later I purchased several pieces of yardage from another collection. Those pieces frayed. I truly hope CT resolves the issue. Their color, print, and theme choices are beautiful. It is disheartening to work meticulously on a quilt to see it unravel.
I am always looking for quality fabric at good prices. I was lucky to find some that I can use for backgrounds or quilt backs at an awesome price in the clearance bin which makes this an absolutely wonderful experience! Thanks!
I ordered a large order of essentials thread as I was told by a friend that it was a low lint thread. After receiving multiple sets I opened several and used three different spools. All three left so much build up of lint in my machine that I need to take it in for service.
Initially their customer service was helpful and offered to replace or refund with return. I opted for a return as the thread clearly doesn't work with my machine. I dutifully returned all the thread except for three rolls that they told me to keep as I had opened them and they were leaving the lint in my machine.
I packaged it all up and used their postage paid label to return it in a secure box. I waited and waited for a refund. Finally I received notice several weeks later that I had been refunded. But only half of my payment was returned. I sent several emails inquiring as to the reason. I did not see the response (which landed in the spam folder because they did not use "connecting threads" email as the sender but a personal email from an employee).
I called today and was told that I had not returned all the thread so they deducted the amount from my refund. So I spent 80 bucks on thread, gummed up my machine, and returned as promised. In return I received about 53 bucks, a difference of 27 dollars.
On the phone she told me I had been emailed so I checked the spam and found the email by searching for the customer service person's name (not connecting threads). She made the same claim in her email.
So either the post office delivered a damaged package with contents missing, which you would think they would realize when they receive it, or someone is lying or just inept in the returns department. Maybe a little typo by someone in the returns department would also account for this, but not for their insistence that I did not return the thread.
I suggested they check the weight of the package as they paid for the label and so I assume would get a bill for the shipping by weight.
At any rate, I am out 35 bucks, plus it will be 140 to get my machine cleaned. I will be missing my machine for several weeks while it is serviced.
All of this causes me to say I will never buy anything from Connecting Threads again and I will urge others to avoid them as well. Much better customer service is found at almost any other shop.
In case you are wondering, I have been sewing for 50 years, make 30 quilts each year, spend hundreds of dollars each month on fabric, and have no reason to try to keep thread that was a disaster for my machine.

Kits did not have the required amount of fabric. There was no explanation why the kits were short on fabric. I ordered 2 kits so I could make the quilt larger. Nine fabrics were required, only six were sent in both kits. I paid full price for both kits, so I was disappointed.
Item was exactly as described. Will be added to my "stash" for now. Love anything from Connecting Threads.
Due to the fact that you us USPS for delivery, it took forever to arrive. I use their informed delivery so I could see that the package sat in the post office for a long time.
Purchased several end of bolt items to use for backings. The fabric is top notch and feels wonderful to the touch at an excellent price, less than chain store discounted fabric but at a far superior quality. Already completed an unfinished project just waited for the sale.
My order has never been delivered. Per order tracking, it is sitting in a mailing facility in Ohio. It's not CT's fault, but I cannot review a product I have never received.
I needed help with an order and they were right on it and resolved the issue quickly
