I absolutely love this site! I can see the problems with it but nothing bad like that has happened for me, in my personal experience everything went right. Don't buy the premium though its wasteful. Just buy an actual chess set or use the free one, the premium can have a lot of things go wrong with it.
I average 1800 to 2100 but on this scam site there are 1500 players/bots that play you all the time and have min ratings of 1900 but show low values to keep your score low when you lose to them. If you play on this crap site keep in mind they try to keep your score low until you register and pay for classes. Then all of a sudden you become a much better player not because you learned anything but because they block the bots and low rated scams.

First of all, it is a great app for different kinds of players from beginners to the pro ones.
I've downloaded their app a few weeks ago.
Points:
*Lag- it is minimal throughout the app but this obvious to the lessons part
*Limit to free users- it could have been increased to at least 2 lessons per day or 3 lessons. I find the one lesson per day kinda unnecessary.
* There is a variety of options to do in the app from lessons to types of game you want to play.
The problem of consistently inappropriate advertising for children appears to have been fixed. Thank you.
Hi!
I am happy to hear that the issue with inappropriate advertisements for children has been fixed. Chess.com makes sure to respond to all reports of inappropriate advertising as quickly as possible and definitely does NOT wand children exposed to mature content.
Advertisements that are inappropriate can be reported here so that they can be removed: http://goo.gl/forms/VSaMa0UkSS. Information about these advertisements can also be provided to support@chess.com where one of the support team members can submit the report.
Thank you for letting us know that we have resolved this issue, and if you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know here or at support@chess.com.
Thank you!

It's an alright site. I don't recommend upgrading to anything that costs money. It isn't that it is a scam, but it just isn't worth it in my mind. The website offers enough tips, tricks, and hints to win a game without having to spend money.
Look this is the best online site but sometimes the administrators score against you to support paying customers. How? Well they freeze the clock and you can only get out of screen by forfeitiing the game and starting a newe game with a loss of points. On other occasions when you have clearly defeated your opponent they give the warning sound for you to move then you do so BUT they declare the opponent the winner... more points loss. Then they will give you low ranking opponents so you score only few points. Other times they constantly interrupt play and time ticks away... by time screen reappaers they declare you have LOST the game. When they behave fairly with the game PLAYERS experience the best and fairest play ever. A GREAT site generally.
