The driver took a 2 hour detour, almost canceling my entire wedding. Only reason it wasn't ruined is thanks to the destination company saving it. This company only has 2 requirements of their job. Be on time and keeping their clients safe. By taking a 2 hour detour our safety was compromised by extending more chances of incidents to happen. Also making a 2 hour trip into a 4 hour trip, made having to have a gas stop. I as the bride having to take another means of transport home, only got to have 15 minutes, with my photographer, say my vows and time to see the Grand Canyon. I was supposed to have 2.5 hours to do this.
This company failed at over half the job. One would think by only getting less than 50% of the job done I would be refunded at least 50% but I was only refunded 25%. They have no remorse for inconveniencing their guests, or ruining my wedding.

Our pick up was Mandalay Bay, destination Grand Canyon West. 2.5 hour drive tops, why would we need to go down to Laughlin and back up? We arrived at 12:15 not 10:45 as promised. Middle of the desert, with children for absolutely no reason.

Post wedding fee

I'm usually not 1 to leave reviews this bad, but we booked this company for our wedding. Set up was easy and people were friendly. Day of the event, the driver showed up to the wrong place. They called me, the bride, who was listed as the point of contact (my mistake) and I passed the phone off to a friend. The driver yelled at her several times, hung up on her, and proceeded to attempt calling back about 10 times during the ceremony. At the end of the night, they had figured it out and took everyone back to the hotel. Three days later, I got an email stating we had incurred overage fees of around $141. I responded to the email that day and said "how about we call it even since your driver showed up to the wrong place initially and yelled at my friend trying to handle it (witnessed by 4 other people in the wedding party)." I didn't a response back until two months (yeah, 2 months) stating they were going through an audit and found this unresolved issue. I proceeded to again ask to have it waived and sent the email chain. They said they couldn't waive it because I hadn't notified them of the driver issue within 48 hours and still demand I pay the fee. Id not recommend using this group based on day of experience and after the fact issues

We booked 2 minibusses through CharterUp as a shuttle service for our wedding in early April 2023. We explained to them that smaller busses were required due to a tight turn in our road, and they agreed to send 2 small busses. This was clearly specified in the contract. They did not survey the route or apparently even look at a map in advance. On the day, they sent a huge touring coach plus another large bus, and neither one was able to reach our home. The drivers just gave up and dropped guests in the middle of the street! They spoke no English so we couldn't even talk to them about solutions.

We needed to transport over 170 people to and from our wedding and CharterUp did not deliver even a single person. On our wedding day, they did not make any attempt to make it right, by sending smaller busses or arranging other transportation. And now they refuse to refund our money even though they did not provide the contracted service.

CharterUp ruined our wedding day, with scores of our guests, many elderly, having to walk up a steep hill or take countless rideshares. And now ChartUp refuses to give us a full refund, let alone compensate us for the rideshares and the great inconvenience and stress imposed on our guests.

Do not use CharterUp under any circumstances!

Almost ruined our wedding

We had a very poor experience.

It was easy enough to make the booking, which we did many, many months in advance. In the lead up to the wedding, we had some difficultly corresponding with the company on providing instructions to the drivers, ensuring that the buses had certain safety features for kids potentially, etc. After a LOT of back and forth, we thought everything would work out okay. Annoying that it took so much time and effort, but still.

But the straw that broke the camel's back was what happened on the day of the wedding. We had three buses, and only ONE of these buses actually arrived on time. Another showed up way too late to bring our guests (including family members) to our wedding in time, while another didn't even show up to the right place (apparently an hour away), let alone at the right time! Not sure how they could mess up GPS, honestly.

It's upsetting because a good number of guests were basically forced to spend out-of-pocket on Ubers to get to the venue. This includes family members like our grandparents, who we had been waiting for to get photos with our photographer. I could keep go on about how this almost ruined the entire day but then I'd get too upset.

When we raised this issue with the company, they basically only did a calculation of how much we were paying by hour and how late the bus drivers were, and then paid that amount back accordingly, which ended up being a fraction of the total quote. We appreciate that they at least acknowledged that their services went awry, but we found the compensation to be incredibly disappointing. Our wedding coordinator at our venue, based on her extensive experience, felt that half the quote would have been a reasonable amount. (It was nothing close to this.)

Bottom line, two of three buses arrived late and thus were completely useless to our guests (including one that went to a place an hour away! We literally gave them specific addresses in Charlottesville, VA, not sure how they would mess this up) and almost ruined our wedding day. Be warned!

Used CharterUp before. Went totally smoothly at first but the first time I had to contact customer service it was a mess. Slow to respond, pretty rude and totally unhelpful. Felt like I was told to basically just deal with the problem and move on. Felt very dismissive, which was a surprise given that I was in the process of reserving future busses as well. Needless to say, I will not be using ChartUp again. It isn't the end result that was most troubling, if the situation wasn't fixable it wasn't fixable and that is totally understandable (We tried to switch a reservation and they simply refused to work with us or discuss it), but the manner of response and the dismissiveness of it was problematic and off-putting. They refused to actually speak to me, at one point stopped responding to emails and refused to look into solving the issue. Again, it isn't even that things weren't solved, it was the process and the dismissive nature in which they would not help. Would be totally okay not getting the money back for the bus or not being able to change the reservation if it felt like they cared or even acknowledged what we were asking.
