Gave blood a few times this year and trying to use the 20 dollar gift cards I received to get something at Dunkin. I keep getting the error of 502 bad gateway. Not only on my phone but my laptop. WTF.
CashStar state that they tried making a secure gift card company, but they most definitely failed … they sent my card to the wrong email (probably an inside job) and the only thing worse than their fraudulent company is their customer service.
I ordered an Ulta gift card through Cashstar (on Ulta's website) 5 days ago. They said they would send me an email in 48 hours giving me an update. Still no update, no one on chat is available, when I called her customer service line provided to me by Ulta, (*******086), there isn't a way to opt to speak to someone or connect with someone. I am fine with delays. It's not being able to speak with anyone in customer service or getting an updates.
I purchased a Dunkin Donuts gift card and of course it didn't work. I tried contacting customer service and was told it wasn't their problem. Unless you have money to throw away DON'T purchase e-gift cards from this company. You'll be out of your money!
I ordered a gift card for Christmas for a family member. When they opened the email it went to a random website. I called and was told my order number was incorrect. This is a scam.
My sister sent me a TJ MAXX gift card through this outfit. Everything looked normal until I took it to the store and it didn't work. I have repeatedly contacted "support" by phone and email. They ask for sender and receiver email. I send that along with the email they sent. Even though they have all the info and their email they sent, they can't find any records. I reply and they assign another case number and attach the same request for information that I have now provided 4 times. Jose Delgado replied to the last one. A reply to his attention got another case number and generic response. The fact that they "can't find any record" when they have the actual email they sent me makes it clear that this is a SCAM!
Would rate this company less than 1 star if possible. It's been 2 years since I purchased a 20 pound roblox gift card from them, and still havent been refunded the money and they haven't given me a code either. DO NOT BUY.
I ordered a gift card Dec 2 with estimated delivery 12/10. It has not even been sent yet. I attempted to call twice today with EXTREMELY long holds to the point I hung up. It doesn't take that long to load a card. I was wanting to change it to an e gift card but unable to get through to you. From now on I will check to see how a company handles a card before I order and if it is you I will not order. There is enough stress going on in the world right now without adding any. You say on your message that with the holiday you are busy MAYBE you need to hire more help! I will pass my experience along to everyone I know so they don't fall into this situation. Yes, and their support is not responding. They quietly return the money without trying to solve something.
I tried to buy a card from different bank cards, different emails, different accounts.
Attempts to contact Live Chat were unsuccessful. They can't do anything but ask to contact another support team that ignores the messages.
CashStar hates its customers because it doesn't even try to solve their problems.
I'm surprised CashStar hasn't gone bust yet. If i would be in the place of a company that makes money on Gift Cards like Roblox, and if I found out that CashStar has problems with sales, I would refuse to cooperate, since CashStar harms the business by lowering the number of sales with its bugs and canceling the purchase.
I received a refund from Bed Bath and Beyond which was placed on a gift card that I had to activate through Cash Star. I have called on numerous occasions, placed on hold for hours and they still cannot locate the funds. I provided all the requested information and still being told their is no money on the card that they cant find. Stay away from these people.
This company appears to be fraudently selling electronic gift cards. I purchased a $50 e gift card to AMF Bowling/ Bowler for Christmas. She went to use it and was told there was less than $15 on the gift card although it was never used. Any customer service prompts lead to other phone numbers where only voice-mails can be left and never a call back. Any FAQ or customer service messages on forms are made so not all information can be filled out. Feels sad to be taken like this especially since it was a gift to my sister.
Received an email stating that I have received a $100 Best Buy gift card from a family member. When I click the link to "View my e-gift card", it takes me to Cashstar website where I have to enter my email to verify my gift card... but this verification fails every time. What a scam!
I received a $200 e gift card for QVC and never received a notification! Finally after two attempts to put it on my account I called QVC and couldn't t find anyone to take the number and was cut off twice. Then the third time the worker said the account showed a $0 balance. She said a team would look into and for me to call back in five days!? Demanded they call me. Will NEVER deal with CashStar again. I purchased a Roblox Cashstar giftcard for a friends birthday via PayPal but the payment has been pending for the past 5 days and my friend hasn't gotten his giftcard. There is literally nothing wrong with my PayPal account but apparently according to other reviews they get their money refunded after a week so this is literally a scam.
I tried getting a Starbucks gift card and never received. There's no customer service and thank God my bank called me on the charges. They had blocked it as fraud. And now I have to go thru the hassel of new card. Bank shut mine down
I bought a Roblox gift card for my daughter and it sent me the code. I told my daughter to try the code but it didn't work she tried several times to make sure she was putting the right code. I went back to check what I was wrong and it showed an email the same minute after they sent me the last one saying that I had asked for a refund when I hadn't. Will not use this site again.
Claimed to refund my $100 gift card 11 days ago. My bank did due diligence and made sure they definitely didn't receive anything. A male customer service agent who wouldn't give his name and a female CS agent named Gabby both claimed the refund was made, citing an e-mail claiming so as proof. Both hung up on me as I protested that this was not so. I found a number for customer service escalation - *******209 - and spoke to someone who discovered that indeed no refund case had ever been created and as of today they are creating and escalating a case. However, it is beyond belief that a company would a) send a refund confirmation letter and never actually act to process a refund and b) that two customer service reps would refuse to transfer me to a supervisor and hang up on a paying customer. IKEA has lost my business forever and I'll never buy a gift card associated with CashStar.
Received $100 e-gift card for dairy queen. Tried to use it a few days later and was told it had a zero balance. Contacted cashstar who went in and changed the link to the e-card to reflect a zero balance and told me it must have been used which it hadn't. Was never loaded. Obvious scam with useless customer service.
If I could possibly rate this lower than a single star, I would. I recently purchased a Roblox gift card for 15 dollars and the second I recieve an email from roblox saying that my order is confirmed, I get another saying that they could not handle my transaction and that "a refund would be issued." Great. So now my money is stuck in pending on paypal and if I do not get it in a week (as some other reviews have told), I would need to wait until the due date which is 29 DAYS from now. Just horrible

OMG! I went to purchase a $100 gift card online from Ulta Beauty for my daughter. Ulta's site directs you to cashstar to purchase. My credit card was charged $100 and they sent me the $100 gift card which I printed off for her. She went to use the GC and was told at the register that it had $0 available. I have been fighting an uphill battle since. NO live agents to talk to, unless you jump through numerous hoops to get to the Indian who after two LENGTHY phone calls told me he would put the $100 back on the GF and email me. He did neither. I'm reporting them to BBB. Definitely a SCAM! I had to venmo my daughter the $100 so she could save face at the register so now I'm out $200!
