First call to Carshield she was very helpful in finding a shop that would do the necessary work and accept carshield. But after my truck was a week at the shop with no action taken (Avoid Firestone Lakeland, TN!) called carshield back and told them I had to find a new shop and she basically led me to believe I'm on my own. They sure don't mind collecting my monthly premiums.

I told you not o charge my credit card, Told you I was looking to compare pricing with other companies first and you just went ahead and charged you fee WITHIOUT my permission. You then charged the new card I was issued whiteout my permission once again. I enjoyed your service when I had it but now I am just going to move on with a different provider.

I took my car to the shop to get it fix told them I had car shield. No problem they said they used them. Call car shield and got a rental. For the length. Of time. Getting car fix. Just paid my deductible. And that was all for a 4000 cost I didn't have to pay. That car shield for doing what u say u will do.

Thought was a good coverage but turns out not everything that pertaining to a motor or transmission is not covered so yall don't have to pay for the service

Carshield was very fast in responding & gave us a call to let us know that it was just the $100 deductible & that if we let them send the part to the Dealership, instead of using the Dealership part that we wouldn't have to pay another $58 for the Dealerships part cost.
We are now just waiting for the part to come into the Dealership.

I am very satisfied by the claims paid by CarShield but when I signed up I was under the assumption that my portion would be the $75 (now $100) deductable and CarShield would pay the cost for repairs. I've had several repairs e.g. tie rod and ball joint and I've had to pay for almost half of the cost. According to CarShield you can take your vehicle to any mechanic and since I have a Mercedes, I take my vehicle to the Mercedes Service Dept. for all of my maintenance. I will continue keeping CarShield because it does save me money.

Lexus simply quit while driving to work. Able to pull over and call AAA wrecker to tow to dealership.
All they could find was a failed 10A circuit breaker.

First day back to work after 3wk Christmas vacation. Car wouldn't start in garage. Called, Responded. Told me what and when to expect relief. Waited. Technician responded & confirmed previous conversation. Auto body shop texted to state eta at my residence. They arrived before time, happy & ready to fix my issue and he did. My experience and problem was resolved in less than 45 minutes during a wintery storm on 1/6/25.
I am totally pleased w the professionalism of Carshield and they are work their weight in Gold

I have been with American Auto Shield for quite some time and I have to admit I am very disappointed about the way I have found out that they do business.
First of all they don't protect their customers from being forced to pay excessive fees and over priced parts and labor costs to auto repair shops. They in fact just in my opinion what I am experiencing is they are almost condoning this behavior. Because they are just saying that they are ok to charge whatever price they want. Just saying that we will not pay because the customer will have to pay it or not be able to get their vehicle out of the repair shop. So once they have been established as the repair shop the customer is stuck with NOT THE DEDUCTIBLE ACCORDING TO THE CONTRACT BUT ACCORDING TO THE AMOUNT THAT AMERICAN AUTO SHIELD REFUSED TO PAY AND DROP ON THE LAP OF IT'S CUSTOMERS.
AND THIS IS FLAT OUT WRONG. AND UNFAIR PRACTICES. PERIOD!

Our Adjustors work hard to negotiate repair costs with repair shops, but ultimately, we do not have control over the pricing decisions made by each facility. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that provides recommendations on what to charge for certain services, but it is up to each shop to decide whether or not to follow it. We are always willing to go over your contract with you, explain the claim process, and address any issues. Not covering anything related to emission control makes no sense. And that is even with their best plan. They need to cover essential ECM related repairs if they want remain relevant. Their competitors do cover that segment.
