Misleading Information

Purchased my plan on January 2nd. I needed to use my warranty in February around the 11th. I started calling. I was going to cancel then but they recommended other places for me to take my vehicle. Never mentioning the 1000 miles I had to drive before my warranty started. Found out the day I took my vehicle to dealership that I was still in waiting period and claim was denied. Once I called for an explanation I also asked since this was a pre existing condition would it be eligible after waiting period. I was told no. So I canceled my warranty. The service rep kept asking me if I was keeping my vehicle (which is none of your business or concern) and stating that while you couldn't help in this instance you could potentially help later. I don't need that kind of help; I needed help now with an oil leak. I'm glad I only made 2 payments and was able to see this warranty was not going to help me.

I did what I was supposed to do. My car started acting weird and sounding awful. I immediately pulled over and stopped. I called a wrecker to take my car home. I filed a claim with car shield, had to tow my car to the shop. 1st mechanic said it ran hot and that what the problem was. Car shield denied my claim. I was told I could take it to another mechanic to get a second opinion. I did, he said the number 2 "something" was messed up and he saw no where that would say it ran hot. So according to #2 mechanic, Car shield should cover it. BUT ya'll didn't you went with the 1st guy. So I paid two mechanics, for two different opinions. I am on disability, I spent money I really didn't have, only to be told I was out of luck and Car shield wouldn't help me. I had car shield for two years (this time, first time I had little over 2 years) Only time I used it was for 2 tows. I paid $100 a month, for insurance that would have my back when I needed it. So now I am sitting facing a cancer diagnose, and a heart valve transplant, with no car! So I canceled my car shield. Why have it, if my car is not running. I was such a big fan of car shield, now I hate speaking the name.

So far I am satisfied

So far I am satisfied, but there are some things that make sense to cover that are not covered. For instance, they will cover the cost of the oil, but not the oil filter. Or they will cover the cost of the new items, but not the clip to keep the item in place. Finally you can bring it to the dealer, but we the customer have to pay the higher dealer costs.
