CarShield generally enjoys a positive reputation among customers, praised for its reliable coverage and the significant savings it provides on repair costs. Many users highlight the courteous and helpful nature of customer service representatives, noting smooth claims processes and effective communication. However, concerns persist regarding service delays, particularly in claims processing and the complexity of filing claims. Some customers express frustration with inconsistencies in coverage and support from repair shops. Overall, while CarShield is recognized for its value and customer service, improvements in claim efficiency and clarity of coverage would enhance customer satisfaction.

Not saying that car shield isn't a legit company you just need to know what you're buying.
There are little clauses that are not clear or explained when purchasing a plan.
There were two separate items that based on the contract it was covered and I received a text stating they will be covered, then shortly after received a call saying that it won't be covered due to rust the other claim will be covered (the less expensive claim). I live in Illinois rust underneath a car or SUV is par for the course seeing the type of weather we have here. I was told by the shop there was in fact a leak in the oil pan, which is supposed to have been covered. I didn't appreciate being told one thing then 5 minutes later told another.
I called with a question and was answered quickly, didn't have to wait.
Car Shield became an option for me because my (now sold) vehicle had passed the minimal 1-year standard warranty, and even though I drive < 2,000/yr., I know that the mechanicals in a car can go South quickly and without warning. I priced Car Shield and, as its ads promise, it was quite reasonable, especially when one considers that Labor Rates at somewhere at or higher than $150/hour. My decision to cancel CS came when I decided to sell the car to get out from under my 40 remaining monthly payments of $450. I'll probably get a used vehicle with a more reasonable payment because I live in Metro Phoenix, AZ, which is *Vast*. When that time comes, I'll be paying attention to car maintenance again.
I didn't have funds to cover the auto pay and the payment was denied. I panicked and called Car Shield immediately they re-entered the payment and my problem was solved.
The customer service person was professional and personable and handled my situation in less than a minute.
Although I've yet to experience a Claim, the experience from start to having the policy card/pamphlet, was respectful and professional.
When i say it's ok i mean that I'm satisfied with your business thank you.
I recently purchased a 2002 Porsche Boxster S. I wanted to purchase coverage for this car because repairs can be pricey. The first time I tried to use the coverage I was unable to find a mechanic in my area that was in the network. After repeated attempts I canceled the coverage.
After having our local Ford dealer tell us they don't accept CarShield due to being slow in paying and hard to work with I was worried about what I had gotten myself into. I subsequently had taken the vehicle a few months later to a local repair shop for a fairly minor issue. I told them that I had CarShield and they told me that they didn't think that they would pay for the repair. I contact CarShield myself and was told that I would be covered and to just have the shop contact them directly. I advised the shop what I had been told and they then called CarShield. Shortly later I received a message from CarShield that they were processing the claim. It was only a very short time after that when I received a message that they had approved the repair. I picked up the vehicle that afternoon after paying my portion of the repair. I think the shop was still a little leary as they reminded me that I would be responsible for whatever CarShield didn't pay. However, it wasn't long after that when I received a message that Car Shield had paid the shop for my repair. The process was actually pretty easy and smooth. Certainly much better that I had been led to believe by the service people.
I wanted to make sure I had the correct coverages. My rep was very thorough (even though he repeated the coverages several times unnecessarily).
Have not any problems with Car Shield. Everyone I have spoken to have been very helpful and very pleasure to speak too, also.
I appreciate the customer service whenever I have questions about billing or simply inquiries about my account.

My battery was dead and I called car shield, and within 45 minutes they sent someone to drop my battery. It was an amazing experience very very happy.
I haven't had to use the car shield as of yet so I can't really say how I feel
I over paid on one of my acct by accident and called to have money transferred to correct acct. Which they took care of. Was very professional and went easy.
When my covered vehicle needs a repair, noone in my area, repair shops or dealerships want to do work on my vehicle because they say CarShield doesn't pay them promptly. Had a $2800.00 repair recently because exhaust problem wasn't covered under CarShield.
