Just listed my business. Immediately got responses with names that just seemed to weird and wouldn't invest in Ecuador. It just didn't feel right. I've paid for 3 months and have gotten 7 inquiries in less than 4 days but, I only 2 have responded. I'm letting all of them know that we can set up a skype call before sending information and nobody has replied (those are all the ones with weird names) the other 2 do seem legitimate.
So my thoughts is that you will get one or two real inquiries but the rest are people that work for the company that do it to make you believe that your money is going a long way.
I can t recommend this service enough. They give you all the Buyers contact info so that you can talk to them direct. I sold my business within 3 months of using Businesses For Sale and I'd certainly recommend them to anyone wanting a quick Sale. Helen Clarke - Eeziweb4devon.

They offer free trial to list your business for sale for few days, then they send you FAKE inquiries.
You can not respond to those inquiries unless if you pay for their membership.
Absolutely a waste of time to list your business just to find out that it's not free.
They claim that it's for you to test if your business listing would get any potential buyers! Total bs and waste of time.
Reading other similar reviews, I see that those who did pay in order to respond to those "Fake" inquiries, realized that they were fake and they were never able to communicate with them.
I hope all business owners read these reviews before wasting their hard earned money and valuable time.

We do try our upmost to remove and limit any potential spam before it reaches you. However we are not able to do background checks on every individual buyer lead that you receive and therefore we would advise contacting these buyers to vet them yourself to find out if they are genuine buyers.
If any business seller does receive leads that do turn out to be spam we always ask the seller to forward them to us so we can investigate further and remove them from abusing our service.

What a waste of money, 4 inquiries none of them are legitimate. How on earth these people sleep with these kind of fraud mind.
Hope something bad happens to them because they took my hard earned money which hard to spend.

Not worth a star
I put my business for sale on businessesforsale.com in May 2020, in the middle of COVID madness and on-top of it, its a hospitality business. Within days of placing the advert, I had inquires. As time progressed, the inquires kept coming in, I have actually removed the advert for now to give myself time to focus on the current inquires. Due to COVID, lack of flights, travel restrictions the potential buyers were unable to visit the property so I am giving them time to visit the property.
I did advertise on other websites, but this was by far the best.
They are also super friendly.

I listed a company for sale with this site. I was initially not entirely satisfied, but they responded immediately to my concerns, and this does show good customer service!

This site is "free" to list your businesses however you need to pay a monthly or annual fee to respond to any queries. They then send you "fake" responses to your listing to entice you to pay the sign up fee. The closer it is to your trial period ending the more responses you'll get.
Listed twice and paid once to see what would happen. As expected, all of these person who were interested in the business never replied.
Avoid this site! Major scam!

I signed up a day ago and today I've got 2"Inquiries" but they want bussinessforsale me to pay first to be able to get in contact with the potential buyers. Same pattern than most of the reviews are describing. Pretty stupid to do the same all the time, I got suspicious when I immediately got 2 responses after one day so I started investigating about this company and looks like I was right with my feeling:-)

Not even worth one start. Just a foreign company have a USA website without any contact in USA. Trying to helping people buying and selling the business in USA. 100% money scammers for membership. Regarding your query with us, I sincerely regret you could not see the value in our service that so many other business owners have when trying to sell their business. Looking through your work with us, we do not believe you were genuinely interested in selling your business, but you were happy to avail of our time and help.
We saw that you received a buyer enquiry and listed your business for sale as being ‘Under Offer’ on the site. You then demanded a refund and threatened to upload negative reviews about us.
For every query you raised, we offered a solution that would help you sell the business. In good faith, we also offered you additional free help and services that are worth hundreds of dollars to help - you rejected this every time.
Your approach does not match the serious sellers who have sold their business through us.
We do genuinely want to help you sell the business, it is what we are passionate about and we are still happy to help you.

I got a few robot enquiries immediate from strange very far away countries all with the same lead in "send me more information about this business". Then I recieved one from a company I recognized (the name and location were viewable), so I facebook. Messaged them. No response! I emailed, no response! I have no faith in the legitimacy of this site.
I have over 9 listings and had responses. BUT not 1 of these contacts are reachable.
We would call and numbers are not reachable, we would email and no response. It is a disgrace that people would disrespect our sellers and brokers like that.

Every time an interested buyer enquires on our website, one member of our admin team will check to make sure it is not spam. However we are not able to prevent timewasters and we do recommend sellers use due diligence when contacting interested buyers.

I tried the free listing first to see if this was legitimate. My short letter below explains my experience. ĺ

I have had 3 enquiries YOU say have shown an interest in my business. And to pay a fee to be put in touch with them.
So... I tried an experiment.
I sent in my own enquiry on my own business. My daughter sent in one. And an associate sent in another. Thats 3 times.
I did this, as I was content to pay the money, but wanted to check if your enquiries were legitimate.
I believe they are made up, to entice me to pay the money. If this is true, this is an appalling way to run a business. I am reporting this, and if I do not get a satisfactory answer, will post on social media.

This is the worst scam ever, childish scam, the dumbest scam in the world. So I listed my business for sale the next day I received two inquiries. But never again after that. BusinessesForSale.com is an advertising platform, not a brokerage company and we do not take commissions or get involved in the sale of your business. We offer a platform for you to advertise your business privately and be seen by interested buyers. We have been very clear about this throughout.
The enquiries you have received are from buyers that have found our website when looking for businesses to buy - as you found our website as a place to advertise.
The advert you have created is a limited trial to test the market. It does not involve any monetary commitment on your part if you believe the buyer interest doesn’t justify a paid subscription. While your advert was live for 20 days, it was seen by 129 users and received 4 enquiries from interested buyers.
You have chosen not to proceed to a subscription with us that would allow you to contact them and it is unfortunate that you have made up your mind about these four buyers without exploring their enquiries. As a result, your experience doesn’t reflect a full user experience that other sellers have made good use of.
I am sure you can appreciate that the cost to advertise privately is of great value. In our reply to you, we have offered a way to help with the cost, but we did not hear back from you.
If you prefer to pay a commission at the sale, a broker would be suited to offer that. We work with brokers worldwide that are advertising on our website, and we list all of them in our Services Directory.
