Worst exchange/return policy! 25% restocking fee to exchange appliances even if you are purchasing from them again. Response to emails takes days if you get a response. No regard for customer service.
I placed two separate orders that were supposed to ship within 24 hours. It took two days for them to tell me that there was a two week back order on both orders. (totaling $600) The first representative I dealt with did not call me back as promised. I had to call back several times to get both orders cancelled. It will be up to 7 days before my money is refunded. I will not recommend this company to anyone and have asked my contractors to stop recommending them to their clients.
I ordered a cast iron shower pan from a local vendor because I wanted to deal with someone locally and thought I'd get better service. I was so wrong. After waiting almost 5 months to receive the item and getting the runaround from the local place, I ordered the exact same product on build.com, at the exact same price, and had it in my driveway 4 days later. It would have been 3 days but I ordered late on a Thursday and the weekend intervened. Delivery service was friendly and professional, and I received calls during the day to update me on when I could expect the delivery to arrive. Very impressed with build.com and I will certainly order from them again.
I bought a simple item, a trashcan, that was half the price of Amazon. It was delivered, it holds trash, it's all I need. I can see that reviews are either five or one for this company which means they give you cheap stuff when they have it. So roll the dice if you're not under a lot of pressure.
Have waited more than 8 days for a response, call, hold times are ridiculous. Left messages, no answer. They have my money and I have nothing. I decided I would give them terrible reviews while I am on hold.
I will never order anything from them again. Any big box store has better customer service and has a better return policy.
I spent over $5K on appliances and my remodel was delayed so everything sat in my garage. Upon unpacking my dishwasher I saw extensive damage on the bottom and because it was beyond 30 days they refused to assist me.
Last time I will ever order from them again! Terrible!
Working with Brock Hawkins over the phone and online for our order was a dream. He answered our questions and then some. Build.com has a great inventory and we ordered 3 kitchen appliances with savings that matched the competitor.
Who ever is hosting this for build.com ---- they are ruining it for them... crappy... slow and sticky website. I thought well maybe it was the computer but now trying it from 4 different machines... NO it is the site.
I do not recommend using Build.com.
The product doesn't leave the warehouse within 1-2 business days. The handles i purchased are still not shipped on the 4th day. Also, no delay information is provided and customer service is useless!
Commissioned sales people fail to follow up on order issues. Call after call to their individual extensions are never returned. So why give your customer a direct line?
These commissioned sales people will not intervene in another sales rep's order and so you are then forced to seek help from non-commissioned personnel. Each time you call you have to first go through a commissioned person to then hopefully get to a non commissioned person willing to help you. You get passed from one person to another until you literally have a roster of names!
Stay away from this firm. I blame executive management for fostering this type of system among their staff. This not my job attitude is terrible.

Says free 2 day shipping, Been 3 weeks and I have contractors waiting for shower faucets. Request expedite and UPS picked up and handed over to post office where it sits because build didn't want to pay for shipping to my house. UPS warehouse is closer than the post office. They don't care. Last time for me.
I order Kohler shower set, missing flange in box, August 1. Keep emailing that it is back order, here is September have not receive it. I fin call call Kohler myself they were in stock sent out in 3 days. They were using the wrong order number never again. They gave me all these excuses.
Purchased 2 American Standard Vessel Sinks from Build.com. 1 was damaged and called Build.Com. They were very understanding and did everything possible to get me the new sink before the installers came. Had it in time and the job was done without a problem. The customer service agent was very professional and understanding and would recommend Build.com
I purchased a stainless steel kitchen sink. Looked very nice on the picture, and accommodated my all needs. However, once received, the item contained a plastic drain which was not part of the description on the website (overstock.com) where I made this purchase. After speaking with representatives at overstock.com I was informed that the description of the item comes from the supplier of the sink, meaning build.com. Shen I asked to have this sink returned with a return shipping paid by the build.com company, my request was denied. Overstock, com offered only reimbursement but once I shipped the item at my own cost, they stated that the reimbursement can only be in form of a credit towards future purchases at overstock. Thus, long story short, I am stock with the shipping bill for the item purchased under false/incomplete representation.

I have ordered several times for home improvements. Workmen installed them for me. Everything has been as I expected and the workers have asked where I purchased my products. The communications have been good. My only suggestion would be to create a way to directly contact my rep. I'd send a picture, but my project has not been completed.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL. I am so sorry I did not read reviews before I ordered. First piece came damaged and I waited about 7 hours for delivery. I was given a window of time -4 hour period. Second delivery, I took another day off and it never came. Next day, I took another day off and never showed up again. No one from build.com or Delivery company could provide me with answers. By far, this has been the most unreliable. Do yourself a favor and order somewhere else.

I ordered a Kohler pot filler for a kitchen renovation in Oct 2021. The order was backordered and took 6 months to come in when they said 6 weeks.
When it finally did arrive they sent it to the wrong address.
Now they have to reorder and I am told by Kohler that this product isn't available till July 2022.
All I get from customer service is "Sorry"
Very frustrating.
Ridiculous they can't track down where the product was sent to.
The Kohler shower door works well. Installation was easier while watching the You Tube video; it took almost 2 hr. No leaking. Looks great with our Quartz walls shower. Delivery was timely and driver moved it into our garage. Build.com has been great to worki with and prices are wonderful.
I purchased a Casablanca ceiling fan that saved me $150. My experience from ordering to receiving the fan was excellent. It has been installed and is working just fine. The fan came directly from Casablanca.

Answer: I don't know how you can actually get them to answer the correct lead time. I received an estimated ship date when I ordered an American Standard faucet. Then, they emailed me 3 more times with delays. I called them after the first delay, and while I was on the phone with the agent, she placed me on hold and called American Standard, and said they told her that there would be no more delays. After this last delay, I called to cancel the order. They said they would "request cancellation" from American Standard. The big problem is they charged my account IMMEDIATELY when I ordered the product, but won't refund the money until American Standard confirms the cancellation. The service agent i spoke with escalated to her supervisor, and the supervisor is the worst person I have ever encountered when dealing with customer service.
Answer: Sorry to hear that. What finish were you trying to match? Usually its best ti use the same brand name when trying to match a finish, such as a Moen faucet to match a Moen towel bar or towel ring. That is because everybody has their own technique of making their products. I wonder if the finish on your new American Standard faucet is doesn't match because the other item you're matching in not made by American Standard. You should be able to return it if it hasn't been installed in any way and you still have the original packaging. The return items page has complete directions that make it fairly easy to send items back. Good Luck! Anthony

While we do have an occasional defect get sent out, we are always quick to send a new one out to the customer.
