I've used build.com on several occasions now. I love the website, it's easy to navigate. They use pay pal as one of the checkout options and that's a big plus for me as I totally trust Pay Pay.

I have ordered from Build.com several times, and each time I was not disappointed. The first time, the item that was sent was damaged; I got a new one very quickly. The second, the wrong size was sent; I was told to keep the item and that a new one would be shipped immediately. Both those times, the items were sent directly from the manufacturer, so it was not Build.com's fault. That's why I order from them; if there is a problem, they correct it immediately. All of these items were Rev-a-Shelf items which I could have ordered elsewhere; but Build's prices are the best (or at least competitive) but their customer service is top-notch and for that reason, I will always check out Build.com first.

100 degrees in New England - the mountains of New Hampshire to be exact - a very rare occurrence for sure. July 3 I ordered a portable air conditioner which promised delivery by July 5th. Didn't think that could possibly happen; so livechat with Build.Com and was assured that this was indeed the delivery date. It arrived before noon! July 5. Less than 48 hours from order time and date with a holiday the full day for delivery. It works great! It is great! And I am grateful. Have used Build.com with great success in the past but this was really special. You saved the day!

I am very disappointed with this company. I placed a large order, part of which I had to cancel. The items had not shiped, so I was told no problem. There is a huge problem. They have my money and have not given it back, (in the form of crediting my VISA card). I have called repeatedly, but each time, its the same story. "I don't know what happened, let me call you back." I am calling VISA right now!

We have built 2 homes and remodeled another. Build.com has been great offering a huge selection of nearly everything we need. It arrives fast and the orders are always filled correctly. I have gotten beautiful high quality items that to me are better than Restoration Hardware and a fraction of the cost. Love this site.

I ordered 3 products. Two out of three were cancelled by Build.com after the fact and one was sent before the previous were cancelled. The items were meant to go together. So when I put in for a return, I get charged for the return shipping?! Really?! What kind of business does that to it's customers. Will never buy from this company again and do my best to make sure no one I know does the same. Terrible customer service. They were nice on the phone about the return and "convenienly didn't tell me I'd be on the hook for the shipping... Angry customer.

I am a project manager for an interior design company, and free lancer for a wellknown consumer organization. I was sceptical ordering after seeing all the negative reviews. I voiced this in a pm thru FB and a rep, Mr. Storm Martinez. After speaking with the rep, I tried ordering a fridge and decided if that went ok I was ordering 3 other appliances for 2 beach condos. The fridge sales price was $2875. My online order failed, and in an error msg, it said to call. After 2 days back & forth, where Mr. Martinez was to send me an offer on all, he informed me Samsung raised their prices and the fridge now costs $3375! This company has a very dishonest business approach. I have spoken to my editor and we intend to expose some of their practices. I suggest to avoid, read trustpilot reviews, google etc. and see for yourself.

Pricing can change depending on sales provided by the manufacturers, etc. Without the item being placed on order, we cannot guarantee the price will stay the same from one day to the next as promotions may end. Seeing as an order was not placed for the item during this promotion we cannot provide the discount after the fact. We again apologize that this happened for the item you were interested in. Purchased a light fixture for $329 in May 2017 described on their website as having a "frosted glass diffuser" (in the product title and specifications). When it arrived, it was plastic and simply not worth the price in terms of quality. When I contacted the company and explained my frustration with their deceptive product description, they simply offered a return, and provided no apology for the error on their site and no correction to the web content. I also submitted a review of the product describing the inaccuracies and their indifference to their poor business practices, it was rejected and not published. If you need lighting, find a better company.

SIMPLY THE BEST

Great product selection with very competitive pricing. And, FANTASTIC customer service. The online support people are so knowledgeable about the products that Build sells. They were able to explain in non-technical terms the details of products I was buying. They also were able to insure that I took advantage of all the promotion prices available. And, when I had a problem with one product, resolved the situation instantly.

We thought we had a good representative yet they sent the wrong item and ignored our correspondence so we could return item and therefore we were stuck with high priced item.
Tried numerous times to correspond all without returning a call until AMEX dispute provoked a call. Not to us my in laws, for some reason. Then responding with you are outside of the return period via our policy. However we showed numerous proof that we corresponed via our phone records and emails. Not a trustworthy seller. Not to mention their helpline was not helpful.

Run, run away! I ordered 42 items including door knobs, hinges, and handles for my new home. All were in stock with 75 to 150 of each item available and ready to ship. As soon as I paid and placed my order, EVERY SINGLE ITEM was back ordered from two weeks to over a month. I emailed or talked to customer service 4 to 6 times and then contacted the president. It was all a big run around with lots of excuses. I'm pretty sure Build.com doesn't have the items in stock. They order what you need from someone else and then wait for it to come in, to ship to you.

I ordered 26 hardware cabinet pulls. I ordered 25 quantity in the 3" center to center size, and only one 5" CTC of the same brand/type of pull. After waiting nearly a couple of weeks, the pulls arrived - all 26 of them in the larger 5" CTC size. None were the smaller 3" CTC size that I needed.

I promptly phoned Build.com customer service and after being on-hold for well over 20 minutes, I spoke with "Laura". She was pleasant, but never apologized for the Build.com's mistake (which held up my remodel project), and she arranged for me to receive the correct size pulls in a second shipment.

Laura sent me a return label by email, but I had to use my own paper and ink to print it, even though the mix-up was no fault of my own.

Today, a week later, I received the second shipment of replacement pulls and ONCE AGAIN - the WRONG size was sent! I received more of the 5" CTC pulls!

What the HECK? I called Laura back and asked for a full refund. This is ridiculous. 3 weeks later, and still everything they sent me is wrong. I'm going with purchasing hardware from another company now, sorry to say.

Helpful and Timely

Renovating is never easy however Build.com made the experience so much easier. I ordered everything from Build.com. Medicine cabinets, faucets, towel holders, lights, cabinet knobs. They were timely with delivery and quality of products. My medicine cabinets arrived in a crushed box with freight delivery, they immediately placed another order and it arrived within the week. My cabinets arrived within 3 days which was perfect timing since my contractor was suddenly ready to finish the job. I highly recommend Build.com.

Bad decision
April 24, 2018

I made a horrible mistake of ordering a REV-A SHELF through Walmart.com in which this company markets their products. Huge mistake, Item arrived damaged and the customer service rep is making it out to be my fault. They need to see proof of the damage item and box and i was told that they will not issue a refund or credit if they feel that it was my fault? REALLY. I was also told that i may only get partial refund? Sounds like these people juts like to Rip customer off and Walmart is saying that they are not responsible for their marketplace seller?

I ordered a Kohler product from Build.com on March 22, based upon the assurance it would be shipped in 1-3 weeks. Since then, I was told that it would be shipped on April 13,14 and 17, May 8 and 21. None of these dates were met. I was told Build.com was unable to obtain the item from the supplier. On May 22, I was told it would be shipped on July 1. At this time, I informed customer service that the item was immediately available on the Kohler website, and requested that they purchase it there and and have it sent to me. They would not do so, even though I had already paid them.
As a result, I cancelled the order, purchased the item from Kohler and received it in 3 business days. It seems incredible to me that Build.com could not obtain the product for over 3 months (at least), and I was able to buy it from Kohler as an in-stock item.

I almost did not order from this site due to the reviews but I decided to take a chance because they had the best price. I am so glad that I took a chance. I called customer service to ask a question and the representative was pleasant and informative. I got a coupon for registering which is always good. My locks came quicker than even the customer service rep foretold. I ordered on 11/16 and received locks on 11/20 and all my locks were keyed alike. I was able to track everything online. My husband was thoroughly impressed. I would definitely use them again.

I had to have an $1100 commode shipped 3 times, because the first 2 were delivered damaged. ½ plywood used for shipping a heavy wood vanity, but only about ½ of styrofoam for a porcelain commode.

Now, this week, after waiting 12 weeks, I receive the matching sink top. It came damaged. Further, the internal box, a Kohler box, was damaged before it was packed into the shipping box. Build.com KNEW it was damaged before they shipped it.
NOW according to Build.com, I have to wait up to another 12 weeks for a replacement. That's 6 months without my main bathroom because I wanted Kohler products.

Extremely disappointed with Build.com. We ordered 7 doorknobs in JANUARY and still have yet to receive them. We were charged immediately upon ordering and were given a delivery date of mid January. Kid you not, when we checked in (after not receiving them on that date) the estimated shipping date had been pushed back two weeks. Then another two weeks. Then ANOTHER two weeks. THEN they said they shipped the order and it was lost. This pattern continued until they sent one of seven, and the current estimated shipping date is now 4/26. Just ridiculous. We really wanted these products, that is why we waited, but every time we called, customer service told us they would be shipped in the next two weeks. Just wish they would have told us these were back ordered to x date and we would have made other arrangements. Disappointing. Doing a full renovation of our home and will not be using Build.com again. Just cannot count on them.

Return policy inflexible
November 28, 2018

I hadn't noticed the return policy said that you have to return stuff in original packaging. My bad and my loss. Will go to a place that provides SERVICE next time. Better yet, let the contractor order and, for his slight mark up, ensure towel bars etc don't delay your project and result in project overruns.
