I missed a couple of data points in my main review. The boost chip has to be left in your cell phone so Boost can call you on the phone you have your Boost number on. This is another way for Boost to screw you. If they can not reach you on the Boost phone, they, Boost will say the Boost account is not functioning and Boost will use this as an excuse not to issue the escape code. When Boost promises you they will call, Boost is lying again. You will have to go through this step a number of times until you have aggravated them to the point of not wanting to deal with you and they want you gone. When you finally force your escape code from Boost, you have to use it immediately. Put the new carriers sim in your phone and call your new service vendor and use escae code, fake account number as fast as possible, the window may be as little as 5 minutes. Every step is designed to screw you out of more money.
