AT FIRST:
The first place where I could help others without having to have a phd. Also the first free counseling site I could find online that did not ask for your credit card number, that is if you chose to "vent to a stranger". Also, when you do this, it is anonymous and that feels very safe. I have also seen many different kinds of individuals here. I love it.
That was my FIRST impression.
Very soon, I realized that (and I am not alone) it was a place where I got continually sexually harrassed, trolled, had head games played with me, and then when I complained, I was ignored. I then got upset and expressed myself on my profile under "what's new", then someone got angry with me about it.
If you can't be yourself on a site designed to make you feel better because of fear of being lashed out at, harrassed, verbally abused and castigated, why bother here?
I have reduced the rating from a 4 to a 1!
Blah, PLEASE CHANGE YOUR WAYS! This may lead to the OPPOSITE of your original goal here. I can't come to a place to be hurt MORE! Okay?
You get no support from this website. People talk mean to you and i wouldn't recomend this website to anyone.
I've been a listener for more than a year, talked to hundreds of people. A handful of them were pleasant, long and productive talks. I still join and listen to folks to this day.
That said, this is a tiny fraction of everything that does not go wrong with this site. The concept itself is already a flawed mess that probably does more harm than good.
Completely unmoderated, anonymous chatrooms for people in need of support and folks willing to listen? That surely won't attract trolls, virgins, incels and hateful folks. Especially not on the listener side. Right? Yeah. The amount of venters i hear complaining that the previous listener was terrible to them for the most various vile reasons is very concerning, let alone the amount of virgin, usually pajeet $#*!s looking for some pathetic sexting on a god forsaken venting website. Its just sad.
And guess what, owners also have a fair bit of paid services at your disposal. This is why they really don't give a $#*! about these very dangerous potential issues at hand, the free chatrooms are merely a bait, a placeholder for ads about their paid services.
It is truly disgusting and i hope that less people come to this cesspool seeking for help.
I have come across some very rude listeners but then some very kind and nice listeners. So BlahTherapy isn't all bad
The website server is always down, can't really communicate with people if the website is never working
Anonymity allows many people to express things they couldn't say otherwise. You can meet some really good people. Many trolls and pervs too though.
95% on this website are sociopaths, extremely immature or cowards with no life looking to pray on your misery... DONT GO THERE FOR HELP!
Answer: Well there's a chat with strangers version and a chat with experts version. In the chat with strangers version you can decide to be the listener or the venter. All is done anonymously and for free. The chat with experts version is a paid version. The strangers chat is also helpful for those who would like to have instant help for free and maintain anonymity at the same time.
Answer: 7Cups does have a rating per listener, but they have some serious issues on that site as well. Firstly they have a built-in censorship mechanism that scans every word entered and if it detects something, it blocks that chat message and gives a warning. My problem with this is it invalidates confidentiality. Every listener and venter in 7cups and Blah have the power to disconnect if they feel threatened or uncomfortable. Secondly, it would be easy to circumvent the censors in 7cups by inserting numbers for letters, or omitting letters. I do believe in my experience that you will get better results at 7Cups, but as always, if someone has a serious mental health related problem, they should seek out licensed professionals in person.
