I understand Binance Chain is designed to be faster and cheaper than Ethereum but it's basically run by Binance (i. E., centralized) so it strikes me that it would be more efficient to simply run the whole thing is a regular database on AWS. Then it really would be as fast and as cheap and possible and they could be more upfront about the level of centralization. And I have no problem with centralized projects like this (people should be free to choose the level of decentralization and security they would like), but it seems like it's not being completely upfront with users regarding its relative level of decentralization.
