Poor performance - Bekins Van Lines makes every promise under the sun and moon until they get your furniture and belongings and then it's their way or the highway. I've never been treated this badly by any company. They promised us delivery from Las Vegas to Texas on a certain day. We drove over 3000 miles (round trip) to meet them for delivery only to be called the day before with a new ETA of 3 days after we had to leave to be back in Las Vegas. They will not negotiate in any way, they don't care, they have everything I own and they are holding it over our heads in addition to wanting to be paid in full before they even schedule the delivery. Word of advice: DON'T EVER EVEN CALL THIS COMPANY!

Bekins Moving: www.bekins.com
Maffucci Moving Coordinator: maffuccimoving.com

We used Maffucci/Bekins moving company early 2017 to move our residence from Brooklyn, NY to Raleigh, NC. There was a big difference between the sales/billing practice and the moving service itself. We were negatively surprised and disappointed with the first and quite satisfied with the last.

Moving service
The driver/team lead was the star of the show, he contacted me by phone while on the road and kept appraised about the actual arrival date/time and coordinated the moving team expertly. The moving team was very efficient and professional, it took less time than I expected; I am glad I marked all the boxes with their final location because they were moved in very quickly. My new floors and walls were untouched and I found no relevant damage to my furniture.

Sales / Billing
We asked for three different estimates from reputable moving companies:
1. Bekins: estimate made in person 4,571 pounds costing $3,069 (variable price based on weigh)
2. Atlas: estimate made by video call - 7,473 pounds costing $5,973 (fixed price)
3. Mayflower: estimate made in person 5,990 pounds costing $4,352 (fixed price)

Beware of the variable price and check for extra fees before paying the final bill. Also dont believe everything the salesperson tells you, I asked him if I could use a different credit card to pay for the bill than the one I supplied on the estimate papers (we were going to use my husbands credit card); I was surprised to be charged $3K the day before my moving arrived without being notified on a credit card that was not prepared for such expense.
The final bill from Bekins turned out to be $4,429 (44% difference!). So the price estimate was artificially deflated to attract my business, in other words a lie or pure incompetence.
Bekins also included a $120 fee for the Full Value Protection service that we did not contracted. I contacted Bekins to complain about the extra fee but the conversation was going nowhere so I decided to give up.
