There was no indication that iPad was about to fail. After 17mos. I would not expect a complete malfunction. I tried to have iPad repaired, "tech" did extensive diagnosis (also "sent-out"for diagnosis) iPad came back unrepairable. Back Market customer service rep. Made me feel "you get what you paid for".
The site has infused personality and humor throughout the whole thing, and its a pleasant shopping experience. I had a good feeling but was nervous, so I was sure to pick something in Excellent condition, and I looked at the reviews for the specific sellers that were selling things I wanted. But it worked out really well for me! I love this phone, and I think it'll last me a few years. It was fairly easy to set up too. My laptop is in bad shape, and I will look to Backmarket when I'm ready to replace it.
This is the most crooked place online! Phone was broken when I got it and still is screwed up! So, I'm going to buy a new one and trade this one in on it. I took it to a repair shop, paid over $200 and said that the data antennae was broken and not working. It would not work on Cellular Data and just keeps searching for WIFI. Even though he put a new antenna in it; it's still doing it and SLOW as hell! If I turn it off; it will turn itself back on and turn my alarm off by itself. I really think that it's possessed, LOL! It won't bring up pictures as it states that it can't "scale the image". I've had it. I've contacted these people over 3 times and no response except for a request to RATE the purchase of this piece of feces. TOTAL RIPOFF!
I was in the market for a lightly used i9 iMac, and Back Market had the model I wanted, at a fair price. I'd never ordered from Back Market before, but after a very quick assessment of the online chatter about the company, I couldn't find anything too egregious about them. I should have done more research. I was sent an older model i5 iMac, of which the market value is close to $600 less than the i9 iMac I had actually ordered and paid for. It's important to understand the Back Market doesn't provide fulfillment or refurbishing, they just provide a haphazard platform where poorly vetted "refurbishers" can open a store, and scam people. After placing the order, my credit card company sent me a fraud alert, which I found puzzling, and okay'd the transaction anyway. I learned later that my credit card company had earmarked Back Market as getting an unusually high number of charge-backs. I also learned that in just 4 short years in business they've racked up almost 250 complaints from the Better Business Bureau (!). They also have ZERO interest in standing behind their platform, or vendors, "mistakes happen" was what the Back Market rep told me. That $600 mistake that is now on me to clear up "just happened" from a Back Market vendor that refurbishes and sells Apple products. Right.
This was my first purchase from Back Market. I admit I was a bit skeptical, but after receiving my Apple Watch 6 and wearing it, I will no longer hesitate to purchase from them again. The communication and packing regarding the shipping of my Watch was excellent! I have had no reason to contact customer service because my Watch has perform as expected, with no issues! I have recommended Back Market to a couple of friends, knowing they will be as impressed as I have been.
Their insurance is a con, they will not repair or replace your phone.
Bought a couple of phones from them, the whole good, excellent, new condition titles do not represent how they function. Battery life varies, one phone barely lasted half a day with little - no use. It was sold as new condition.
They gave me a turd emoji they're the ones that are s*** I had a brand new phone and I know it's worth some money I don't need to be treated like a God damn slave or some f****** s*** this is what I think about you back market and I'm going to pissed off customer to complain I've already gave you a bad review on Facebook I've warned everybody to stay away from you and nothing but a cheap
Never in my entire life have I faced such a level buck passing, condescension and outright theft.
Not only did they fail to "have my back," with product that arrived damaged (they told me it was an acceptable level of a superficial scratch), but when the screen went black rendering the computer unusable, they told me to go directly to the seller. Then Back Market "backed" the seller who had the gall to sight the initial damage that was literally there upon delivery as being the cause and MY responsibility immediately nulling and voiding my warranty!
Without examining the computer in person by a certified affiliate, Back Market "backed," the seller, not the consumer.
I will NEVER use them again and will make it my mission as a consumer to protect others out there who might be swindled by their lies and terrible products.
RUN RUN RUN to the nearest New Egg site!
I bought a Google Pixel 4XL in january. Shortly afterwards the phone came up with a message saying, "unable to read battery meter". The phone stops holding a charge and only works when attached to a charger.
I googled it, it is a known fault with the phone on googles end, so I contacted backmarket who were happy to repair the fault.
Shortly after receiving the replacement, the same fault surfaced.
I was informed by backmarket that at least 6.25% of these models have been returned with this exact issue.
They offered me a refund/exchange. Due to spending £50 on cases for the phone I said that I'd try one more time - maybe I'd just been unlucky.
I sent it off and they sent it back.
Shortly afterwards the battery fault returned. Unfortunately, this time I had dropped the device (in the £50 case) and cracked the screen. The device remains entirely functional other than the battery fault.
They said they could not exchange or refund the phone due to the cracked screen. Gutted. Will never be using this service again.
Selling a phone, they know has massive issues and then to be told I'm stuck with it because of cosmetic damage to is absolutely awful service.
NEVER GO TO BACKMARKET.
They have no ethics and are only in it for a quick buck. The fact that so many have been returned with the same fault and they continue to sell it and customers front the cost is absolutely disgusting.
I PURCHASED IPHONE FROM THIS MARKET
THE PHONE GOT HEATED AFTER 8/10 MINUTES OF MAKING A VIDEO
ON CONTACTING BACK MARKET, THEY ASKED ME TO RETURN THE PHONE
I RETURN THE PHONE IN THE SAME CONDITION, SAME PACKING, AS SENT BY THEM
NOW THEY SAY THAT SCREEN IS SCRATCHED /
BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT TO GIVE BACK THE MONEY, THEY ARE USING THIS TACTICK
I HAVE LOST TRUST IN BACK MARKET, ANY BODY DEALING WITH THEM, SHOULD KNOW THIS
He claims he put in a new battery, but it's not an apple battery, so it'll never display battery health, and we'll just never know. Also, the warranty won't cover anything past that 30 day period, so if you need something fixed they tell you to take it to your local repair shop, which automatically voids the "warranty". Waste of money. My phone does all sorts of funny stuff like blurring out the top section of my screen, or calling people or muting me etc. with no apparent damage, and I'm left to pick up the pieces, less than 3 months since the purchase date of this expensive phone.
They sent me a locked phone, returned with their label and USPS lost it. I have to eat the cost of the phone.
This is the second time in less than a year that my phone has broken, the battery in the first month only charged up to 80% and now the screen does not work the touch screen. The experience has not been satisfactory so I will not be able to give a good review.
I wouldn't recommend getting a MacBook from this company. I had a lot issues with mine, which an Apple technician told me was unusual for the make. After requesting a refund, the seller approved and issued me a return. But then, immediately changed tack saying he didn't want to spend money on the return label and that I could get a replacement product instead. With this type of service (headache), I wouldn't purchase from Backmarket again.
Be careful of a seller backmarket use (qwikfone)! I ordered a galaxy S9 excellent condition, turned up with two scratches and one turned out to be a 5mm crack, also you could see the edging looked like it had been glued. I reported with photo evidence and they agreed to change it. When they received the phone the crack had spread Across the screen in two directions so they refused to repair it unless I paid £90 as this happened in transit that was organised by themselves! Make sure the seller is not qwikfone...
Do not use this service! I bought a macbook pro for £600+ to use for uni. After two months, the screen completely broke. It was disconnected, black and pixelly. I sent it back to the seller who then claimed it was out of warranty so there is nothing they can do. Basically they sent me a broken laptop and then tried to blame me and I'm £600 down. Backmarket customer service have been absolutely useless. Clearly just some outsourced agents who just use stock phrases rather than actually helping.
This situation has caused me so much financial stress and anxiety. I cannot afford to just throw £600 in the bin for a broken laptop. Absolute scam!
On top of that, their useless customer service sent me an email with the header saying I had been refunded in full then said oh sorry that's a mistake. When I'm already in tears they got my hopes up then said whoopsies sorry actually nothing we can do. I am devastated. I cannot afford to buy a new laptop and also be able to eat for the next few months. £600 is a LOT for a uni student. Such a shame that this multi million pound company can't just show a bit of kindness as opposed to scamming vulnerable people. Never have I been treated so awfully by a company. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE
AVOID! When there is an issue, they will look for any way to avoid fixing the product. I had an issue with the Battery, they blamed a thin crack at the top of the back case as the cause, even though it happened months earlier. Poor customer service that will do anything to avoid fixing their defective phones. Warranty not worth the pater is printed on. AVOID.
I ordered a phone in "excellent" condition. The phone arrived with one of the screws in the bottom sticking out completed rounded off on top. I gave a detailed explanation of the issue, sent photos, and returned the item. Not only has this completely wasted my time but I have not been give a full refund. Absolute scam of a company. Avoid! No way of communicating to anyone to resolve. Would have better service buying from the black market. Horrendous experience.
I purchased 3 times from Back Market, all of which resulted in order cancellation or return due to damaged product.
I do not trust this site and have had a bad experience purchasing from them.
Answer: Bought a refurbed iPhone 11 unlocked, as a Christmas gift. It arrived and I had it activated. I had no problem with the phone. I went to Simple Mobil, and got their 25.00 plan. The phone is in great condition, works great, and I am happy with Back Market.
