Reading many reviews, some bad, I noticed the majority of worst reviews were really the customers fault for not reading carefully instructions and particulars. This site is a reseller and you should also investigate some of their partners, some of them I wouldn't order from.
The partner I chose was slightly more expensive, but I had a perfect experience.
Caveat Emptor
Seller wouldn't repair my phone's sim card issue because they said phone had previous damage. Only "damaged" because they refurbished back glass with cheapest glass ever. Which cracked immediately after receiving. Then Back Market says "Well, sorry, but here's 5% of next purchase." 5%! $350 is now gone
I ordered a refurbished iphone 8 plus in "very good" condition, and that's just what I got. It looked just like a new phone, and works fine. I simply inserted the sim card from my old phone, restored data from the old phone's backup, and I was in business. I haven't had the phone long enough to assess its battery condition, but it appears to be adequately holding its charge. This phone was well worth the price we paid.
The seller sold me a defected iphone X. The battery had issues and the screen had vertical lines after 4 months of usage. Tried to use the 1-year warranty that back market provided to get repair. The seller just declined the warranty use excuse. (they will decline service no matter what). The back market did nothing ro help and sided with seller. I end up get a defected iphone x and no one help! The warranty provided by back market is a total joke! Never buy from them again! Do not deal with this horrible company. No service at all!
This was my first time buying a refurbished phone (S21 Ultra 5G), and I'm glad I did. I got all the features I wanted without breaking the bank. Aside from some minor worn spots on the edges, it was in perfect physical condition. With a case, you'll never notice. I had zero issues with my purchase or shipping... and maybe it even helped reduce e-waste like they say. Will likely be back in a couple years!
Every part of the process was actually amazing! Wife and I are so happy with backmarket, we sought out places to post our review! The price for our laptop was great for what we got, and the computer was in absolutely perfect shape. Runs like new, shipping was very fast and packing was so good it could've made it through a war zone. Unfortunately after 11 months, the computer started doing a weird thing where pressing the backspace key would turn off the power -weird and annoying. It was within the 12 month warranty period so we initiated the return - super easy and free process, the day after they received the return they contacted us and issued a refund because they couldn't fix it. Questions were answered in under 30 minutes, and we have ordered another laptop that's actually got better specs for about the same price. We have been extremely happy with every step of the backmarket experience. We will continue to shop them with no concern.
I bought not one but two iPad pros from this company on back market and they look and work like I bought them from apple brand new. I'm so pleased and will be definitely buying more from them. And the prices are so reasonable. Thanks so much!
I bought some refurbished airpods from this website, and ngl i was a bit iffy about it, just because of how you'd get a said good quality for a lower price than buying them brand new. They came in with a couple very tiny and otherwise unnoticeable impurities (i had to look closely to see the little dents) but work perfectly fine! Honestly i think the idea of the website itself is enough to make you want to buy from them. I don't see why not to buy from here and save money, with the added bonus that it's better for the environment. Based on my experience 10/10
Buyer beware!
I bought an IPhone 11 from Back Market a couple months ago. The product took over 2 weeks to be delivered. When I unboxed it the screen had several large deep scratches on it. The item description on Back Markets website stated "no visible scratches or damage to screen."
I filed a complaint with their customer service that they brag about non-stop while you are using the Back Market website. Nothing has come of it, they have my money and could care less about after sale service.
I guess the moral of this story is that you should be aware you are buying 2nd hand goods off this website. You are basically rolling the dice on what the condition of the item actually is. These are all independent sellers and Back Market has no form of quality control. They try to ease your mind by promoting customer service, but in the end their customer service department is just a computer sending you generic messages that lead nowhere
Was a bit skeptical since i was buying a refurbished phone. Ordered a excellent condition, have to say the phone came in mint condition no scratches whatsoever, its good as new. Ordered another one its on way. I highly recommend back market

I've only ever ordered one item off of Back Market and they messed up the order. I've received the incorrect item. I sent it back to get it replaced but instead they refunded it when I put down replacement on their website.
I was really impressed with backmarket. Their quality control mechanisms are top notch--amazon and ebay can learn a thing or two ;).
I ordered a 2 year old device and it arrived in 3 days in practically mint condition with 100% battery health for 33% off retail price- couldn't ask for more!
The phone I ordered turned up locked. This was apparently a mistake by the vendor Mazuma. I contacted them through backmarket and they offered to unlock it which would take two weeks. I assumed this would be done but they subsequently asked for the IMEI number, even thought this is information they already had. By the time I had registered that they wanted this information 2 weeks had passed. It will apparently take a further 2 weeks to get the unlock code. There was not even an apology offered!

I received the iPad Air (November 2013) 16GB - Space Gray - (Wi-Fi) that I ordered very quickly. It was a last minute find for a Christmas present that I ordered on 12/23/21. It came in the following week. Had no issues at all with the product. I will be a returning customer, for sure!
The communication from this company is outstanding. I give them a high rating because of how well they took care of my immediate need. Fast shipping, and outstanding MAC Pro. I couldn't not have asked for anything else…BackMarket met my needs.
I was skeptical at first about the products being refurbished but the MacBook I got works like it's brand new and I can't complain considering I got a really good deal for mines. I would definitely suggest trying them out especially if you're an eco friendly person.
I understand the hesitation when it comes to a purchase like this. I am the type that checks my sources sources. This is my third purchase from back market and each one i have been extremely satisfied with their service and product.
Highly unsatisfied. Out the package there are way more scratcher then advertised. Wouldn't connect to wifi, camera not working, backlight on keyboard faulty. 500 cycles on the battery! All the other reviews said it was usually very low. Grimy and dirty keyboard. All around last purchase and a waste of 400.

The phone is near perfect physically and operates like brand new. The prices were more than fair. I love my device and will absolutely make future purchases as well as recommended the company to others.
Answer: Bought a refurbed iPhone 11 unlocked, as a Christmas gift. It arrived and I had it activated. I had no problem with the phone. I went to Simple Mobil, and got their 25.00 plan. The phone is in great condition, works great, and I am happy with Back Market.

For what it's worth, February was quite possibly the worst we've seen ever seen in terms of performance with the three major shipping carriers. Without getting too much into the details, many customers had orders with delayed deliveries on the shipping carrier side. Please note that we require all sellers on Back Market to ship orders within 24 business hours. Otherwise, they are penalized for not honoring Back Market's quality standards for our customers.
