I when to the Blue Island IL. To return a part that was the part that I needed, but since I did not have the part in the box, they did not want to return it; although I had the receipt and they knew that was the part. Very disappointed!

If you need Auto parts stay away from AutoZone. They lure you in with promises of rewards that never show up on your account because the restrictions are so numerous that no one can ever get a reward on their account. As far as the parts go they offer lifetime warranty but if you want to keep bringing the parts back every week they'll keep giving them to you because they're junk. Do yourself a favor shop at RockAuto or O'Reilly's better selection better parts.

We bought an alternator for our car, thinking we could return it if our alternator was good. The girl who works at Autozone did not tell us there is an electronic policy. We found out that our alternator is good and now we can't return the one we bought, and we really need this money back. I just wish she should have told us about the policy, that way we would have taken our alternator out first and checked it. Now we are stuck with one that we don't need.

I have been a fan of autozone for more then 20 years. I have always loved the rewards program. However for the last 2 years I continue to find my local auto zones with excessive prices compared with other retailers and online vendors. Today I went to buy
Sta-ble 360 marine treatment 32oz. It was priced approx 33.00 I checked online and Amazon would delivered to my house for approx 22.00. I also have found my Mobil one oil filters are about 5-6.00 less at both Walmart and Amazon. I have observed this more and more since the beginning of the pandemic. I normally would pay a little more to buy locally but these price differences are huge. I thought this was just a temporary way for retailer to grab the stimulus money from people hungry to buy everything. However, this price gouging continues and I'll be going elsewhere until it changes.

Verified purchase

I bought a new battery from Autozone on April 19th and just 81 days later brought it back because it wouldn't hold a charge of course I thought it was my alternators problem because c'mon it's brand new battery come to find out the battery is bad... When I asked if theyd be able to replace it since it's within the 90 days or if at the very least they could give me a discount on a new battery and they were the rudest people ever talked to me like I'm an idiot and pretty much told me to get lost because even though I didn't physically get the battery til the 19th that I'd purchased it on the 14th and so the the warranty was out of date but I'm a manager at a retail store and I know there are some things that you could do to give better customer service and I was even going to pay for another one I was just asking for like $5 off and they wouldn't even do it and they sold me a bad battery I will never shop here again Ima tell everybody I know how horrible they treat their customers and don't stand behind their products. Bless your heart AutoZone!

Was able to take back front rotors for my truck. But low and behold there was a $45 difference between what I paid and what I got back. Nowhere in the store did they say there was a 15% restocking fee and the receipt didn't even reflect that. I can go to Walmart or any other retail unit and bring things back and they don't charge or restocking fee AutoZone or just crooks. Will only go there is a last resort. Ji

Tip for consumers:
That they had a restocking fee did not advertise this in the store at all

5/13/2020 Went in to Auto Zone in Mansfield Pa today for parts. Two of the four employees waiting on customers were wearing the virus masks on their chins with no regard to safety or with potential contamination of their customers. There are other auto parts suppliers and the internet who will welcome my business.

I purchased a rebuilt alternator and I installed it but it didn't work. AutoZone ordered another one for me which I picked up the next day when it arrived. I got home ready to install and I realized that the pulley was not turning and it was completely locked up. I went back and they ordered another one for me. The next day I went to pick it up but they had ordered a new instead of rebuilt one by mistake and claimed that the rebuilt part will arrive that evening. At 5:45PM I called to see if my part was in, they said it's in ready to be picked up. I went to pick it up instead of the rebuilt one they ordered another new one. The manager took responsibility for the goof up and decided to give me the new one for the price of a rebuilt one which is $40 more.
I picked up the new part, installed it and it's charging at 14.6 volts. Perfect!
The back and forth was exhausting and a lot of my time was wasted.
The aggravation to clients could be eliminated if Duralast/Autozone implemented a better system of quality control. If the current trend continues, clients are going to leave Autozone for a car part store has better quality control and quality parts.

I had to replace the tail light assembly on my Honda van. While I was at it I wanted to change the light bulbs in both left and right tail lights. There's 2 different lights in each assembly. The brake light which is white and the turn signal light which is amber color. Being a painting contractor and not an electrical mechanic I bought everything I was told I was needed. I was sold an extra set of brake lights I didn't need. The turn signal lights were not amber lights which they have to be because the lens is clear. Also an extra packet of light bulb grease for the sockets. I didn't even use the entire first one. So at this point my time has been wasted. I go back to the store with the tools and a different associate helps me by actually looking at the vehicle himself. He knew what he was doing and talking about. So I get the right bulbs. I returned the extra brake light bulbs and packet of grease. Then the original associate who sold me the wrong bulbs and extra bulbs and wasted my time was trying to charge me for the amber bulbs again which I had already paid for but they were white in color. When I pointed this FACT out he got a patronizing tone and said to 'Have a nice day'. It sounds nice here doesn't it? There's these things called 'tone' & 'voice inflection' and any adult that speaks English recognizes it when it's phony. I'm not some hick just off the farm. This guy wastes my time, wants me to pay for something I already paid for then because he blew it tries to make me the bad guy? It doesn't work like that. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the other associate was a help and didn't waste my time. A 30 minute project - that's with going to and from the store one time. Turns into over an hour because of that guy. There's entirely too many places to get parts for my vehicle than to ever deal with garbage like this again. These days GOOD customer service is what keeps businesses afloat and BAD service breaks businesses. Good prices don't mean much without it.

They're parts are a good price, but depending on what part your buying I stay away. If it's something your car needs to keep running shop elsewhere!

Rewards program is a joke. Autozone employees need to be trained more effectively. I had $40 in rewards credits, went to purchase a part to find out my $40 was used in Florida to buy a part. I live in New York... I've had 2 transactions were the Autozone employee used their own rewards account to steal my points. Since this employee used their own rewards account, the part warranty was also under their name even tho it's my credit card used to purchase. They wont let me return the part. They advertise "didnt get your points? Dont worry we can scan your receipt " come to find out you can only do this 2x a month within 30 days... I'll be shopping at Advanced Auto Parts from now on!

I've been doing business with AuZo for years. I've only had a few difficulties with them but never had high expectations since I, too, once worked in an auto parts store. However, I do expect a large company to have a friendly business model that says we appreciate you as a customer.
Typically I get my parts and other items at a local store. However, because I was looking for something that the local stores don't carry, I was forced to use their. Com site. I went ahead and ordered the items mostly because they could get them to me quicker than any other place.
After several days I get a random call from AutoZone's. Com customer service wanting to confirm my recent order from them. They caught me off guard as I wasn't near a computer and was working but went ahead and agreed, thinking how hard can this be. The first thing they wanted was the order number from the purchase invoice. Most of the questions they then asked me would have required having the invoice with the order number. Even with me explaining that they'd caught me off guard and that I wasn't in front of a computer, they canceled my order. They told me that I didn't answer the questions about my order correctly and that they canceled it. If I still wanted the items, I'd have to go back online and reorder them and then, of course, wait even longer for delivery since I'd already lost a couple of days.
I found the same items on another site with an A and a Z in the name, and I'm getting them two days earlier than what AutoZone could initially get them to me.
When I received the cancellation notice in my email, here's how it read:
"We have cancelled your order either at your request or because the product requested is out-of-stock at our fulfillment center and we are unable to source the product directly from the supplier."
This kind of treatment is an inferior way to treat a customer, and I will not use their. Com site again and most likely use the O or other parts stores instead.

Tip for consumers:
If you really want the parts from AZ then carry your order information in your pocket or risk possibly getting it canceled.

I purchased some STP (scientifically treated petroleum) in case you didn't know. It is Transmission slip stop+Leak.
I found it works well, HOWEVER,,- 1 SERIOUS issue I have is being blantenly lied to, by way of using the label of STP on the bottle, when IN FACT AND FOR A FACT, the product is indeed manufactured by Auto Zone, for Auto Zone but has a lable slapped on it by --wait for it,, A conglomerate company owning multiple other brands called Spectrum. No where does the company STP if even they still exist, I doubt it, have anything to do with the product itself ever. The thing that really pisses me off Is Auto Zone Customer service refused to and refuses to provide a list of products like this one, nor will they even admit that this is what they are doing rather than selling products they make with auto zone labels. Very sneaky, very milatious in my opinion.

I recently visited an Autozone store in Clinton, Iowa. I was talking with the saleswoman about the warranty on Duralast Gold brake pads for a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. She read off all the features and the parts that are included in the brake kit. When she mentioned the kit includes electronic brake pad sensors, I stopped her and asked if she is looking at the right parts. She flipped the computer screen around and showed me. It says on the computer screen the brake pad kit includes electronic brake pad sensors. I told her she should remove that description from the pad listing. She asked why. I told her a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo does not have electronic brake pad sensors. She got huffy puffy with me and told me I did not know what I was talking about. She went back to the shelves and retrieved the pads. Before opening the box, I told her if there was electronic brake pad sensors in that kit, I will give her $100 cash. She opens the box. Four pads and a bag of mounting shims, no sensors. She takes out a pad, unwraps it and shows me the friction material. I told her that has no electronic components on it and a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee does not have electronic brake pad sensors, I should know, I rebuilt the front of that Jeep and know everything about it. She still insisted I don't know what I am talking about. I told her, Taco Bell is hiring, you should apply for a job there.
I'll never go back to that store, they hire morons who have never been under a vehicle.
