It lost the overall quality and trustworthy. Plus once you are a member they will take money from your account renew your subscription without notice - an automatic renewal disable function is not an option on the website. I asked for a refund few days later and they denied. It's all about money...

Lack of service
December 21, 2022

Asw is bang on time when it comes to invoicing the fee. If you cancel your subscription before renewal is due, you cant access anymore your account, although you paid for the full year. This means you cannot download anymore the invoices you already paid and if you write to their support email, even after a week no reply. Recommendation: stay away from Asw. Not worth a Dollar.

I have worked with this company for years and they were accommodating but now they need way to much information, bank statements, compliance forms, driver's license and now documentation of recipient. No longer a company to rely on.

Not worth your money

Nothing exclusive. Anyone can become a member and people I met at their events were as ordinary and boring as random people you meet at random bars. Don't waste your time and money. And yes, they do charge without notice and deactivate your account without explanation. And the customer service refuses to refund and even accuses you of making a complaint. I argued back very logically by pointing out how unprofessional they were and eventually they gave me back my money. It took me some time though. I immediately deactivated my credit card for just in case.

STAY AWAY

Not worth the time or money. Very little value in their services and their customer service is the absolute worst (particularly Sofia in member services). I tried to cancel my membership before I was charged for another year and they fought me down to the minute of when I logged in saying that I didn't log in in time to cancel so they would not refund my money and reset my membership date for 2 days after my cancellation. On top of it they also blocked access to their app from the time I cancelled it so I paid for another year and then couldn't use it! Worst company ever and I hope they go under.

Hi there, this doesn't sound consistent with our policies so I would love to try to resolve this for you as we provide refunds up to two weeks from charge date. Our system is unable to charge a renewal fee if the user has cancelled the membership. Please write to us at support so we can look up this issue and find a solution. Members often cancel their accounts without realising that means cessation of service but if you have paid for your membership we will absolutely rebuild the account so you can use it until the current membership term expires.

SCAM SCAM and SCAM

This service offers nothing and take your money without authorisation. Unfortunately i didnt pay with credit card so i couldnt report fraud! A day after they took the money for my membership I asked them to return it and cancel my annual membership and they said no. They automatically checked automatic renewal without my agreement. They are fallen company that's why they make money on this credit card scam!

Potential Fraud

Beware when you sign up for a "free" membership that they collect a bunch of your personal information as well as your picture. Later they can reject and block you for no reason and use your information you dont know how.

Very suspicious and strange organization.

Do not bother

I was a member in Chicago. There was a clique there led by a female who would not let "outsiders" in. And the only requests for "meetings" I received were from men - and the vibe was definitely "looking for one-night-stand".

Lies / false promises

I signed up to this site years ago just after the Swiss ceo took over (I think Patrick is his name, I'm swiss myself) and they advertised that they'll provide a trip for the members to st. Kitties the carribean island completely free for all members. Needless to say, said trip never came to to fruition, it was never mentioned again after I signed up for the membership, and my email inquiring about it was completely ignored, yet around 10! Years later I still receive plenty of spam emails from them even after I unsubscribed from their mailing list.

You can cancel your registration, they delete your account and, taking advantage that you provided your credit/debit card, they will charge you and unless you cancel that card for fraud, they will charge again and VISA will wash their filthy hands. This is a fraud.
DO NOT GET IN THE TRAMP: A SMALL WORLD only sells ego for nothing. You pay for being in a supposed platform with zero interactions. Useless for all purposes: dating, business, traveling...
Useless.
Dont let them fool you and steal your money. Trust me. I lost 100€ to nothing after I cancelled.

It used to be good

It used to be good. Now it is bad, completely useless and boring.

They only content on the platform are DJs, club hosts and event promoters posting are titled: "Exclusive ASW Invitation Discount" (read, "This is me promoting my thing") from people that definitely see no harm in expending $110 annually for marketing reach.

Also, they promise some "benefits", but they have never delivered. They come up with excuses as to why they do not have "availability" for the benefit due to "high demand". There other more relevant social platforms elsewhere. This one became pretty irrelevant, once they changed their business model just a year ago.

Do not give these people any access to direct or recurring billing. My ex had a recurring payment set-up that was supposed to be cancelled by ASW since the two year auto renew had expired. It was charged on my account for my ex's membership. When I contacted ASW to reverse the charge and bill the subscriber, they refused and told me to seek reimbursement from the subscriber directly. Terrible and unethical business practices. I'm disputing directly with my payment company and expect resolution.

ASW hidden auto-renewal policy sneakily took 2 years membership from me after I clearly asked them to remove my credit card and cancel my membership 2 years in a row! They do not want to give me a refund. Their community is empty, like a shell for a corrupt company... no valuable interactions. Stay AWAY!

I had no notification of a 'renewal' charge of £90! On a service i never logged in for.
I emailed asking to refunded and to cancel. Their response was to cancel the NEW 16/17 MEMBERSHIP & Still not refund me! Saying i have no rights!?

Absolute bull and in discussion with Dailymail about launching a story to uncover the truth in these 'paid social media sites"

On a service note...

No one talk on ASW. Its all brag. No one helps or wants to know you.
If you don't live in London (which i don't) you cant use anything.

A total scam. I got tricked into it! But you don't have to!

Listen to my advice. Stay away!

Appalling service

Similar to other users, I had signed up to the ASW not having paid attention to the small print and therefore not realising that they had an automatic renewal policy.
Never having used the site because the content is awful (they used to be good years ago) within hours of receiving notice that payment has been taken out of my account, I contacted ASW to cancel my subscription and request a refund which has been refused. Currently disputing via Paypal.
Not offering any grace periods for cancelling automatic renewals is unfair and disgraceful practise.

Before even getting limited access you are forced to pay around 100 EUR.

Once in, there is really nothing special. It's an ordinary scam. Don't get fooled! Do NOT pay and be a member of this pyramid-game.

In my opinion, A Smallworld does'nt adopts a fair commercial practice: f. E. they charged my cc without warning me for the automatic year renewal nor for other authorizations. Any serious company I know sends (at least) an email to remember the client of a service that a renewal act is in charge and they - in most cases - ask wether you want to confirm renew - if you're satisfied or not.

I received an email justification under the reading of their 'terms' that I have should done once and for all. Seriously? Any terms and conditions' changes should be notified before, in case they vary, and the renewal of any service communicated - as good practice prior to renewal, even if automatic.

Sad ripoff. I was hoping for more but you are better off in booking a club holiday. Sadly I can't recommend.
