Absolutely terrible experience with AP Electric. We ordered a $21,000 generator, and what followed was a frustrating mess of delays, misinformation, and unprofessionalism. First, the generator was supposed to be delivered on March 28,2025, but the carrier (All Freight Trucking) never showed up. They rescheduled three times, each time making excuses—delays at another location, truck issues, and finally, claiming they didn't have the right truck for delivery. After repeated failures to deliver, we canceled the order and requested a full refund—a request that AP Electric completely ignored. Instead of acknowledging their failure to fulfill the order, they kept saying they needed to "locate the unit" before processing a refund. At this point, the generator had never even arrived, so why did they need to track it before refunding us? It made no sense. We had to go back and forth via email multiple times, and AP Electric's responses were dismissive, unhelpful, and seemed to avoid taking responsibility. They even falsely claimed there was no request to cancel the order—despite multiple emails clearly stating that we were canceling due to their failure to deliver. This company does not stand behind its promises and refuses to take accountability. We had no generator, no service, and no refund. If you're considering purchasing from AP Electric, be warned: their customer service is an absolute nightmare. Avoid this company at all costs.
I ordered a $575 part from this company, when I realized, the unopened part did not fit, I ask them to help me with a return or exchange and flat our just don't take returns. Hard to believe it is 2022 and they would not accept and made know effort to even help.
TI received starter brushes that are too large and don't fit. The diameter of the spring is also too large. I have tried contacting AP Generator Parts three times but haven't received any response. I suspect that the wrong parts were shipped, but without help from AP Generator Parts, I can't be sure. Unfortunately, AP Generator Parts, also known as All Power Electric and Generators, were not helpful in solving this problem.
I ordered $36,000 of generator gear from AP electric. They moved our delivery date back 4-5 times and it took nearly 1 year to take delivery. They also recommended an improper 'switch' and we sent it back for a refund and they kept the switch and never provided the refund. Anyone would be better than AP.
I ordered a simple radiator cap for my generator. They claimed it was in stock would ship in 3-5 days. A month later I still have nothing - no product and no update from AP. After two weeks I tried calling but they would never pick up nor would they respond to emails or their own website chat. These guys are a total waste of time. Buy from ANYWHERE else and pay more if you have to because you won't get anything from AP.
This company has 0 customer service.

Trying to purchase a cord for my generator. On my account I mistyped my phone number and got an email saying they needed to verify my order. I have called 4 times, emailed 3 times to two different contacts, put my question to chat (useless unless you need practice counting from 60 to 0 before being told all operators are busy). Very close to putting a stop payment on the purchase as I can't get anyone to answer. Which leads to my question... Is anybody out there?
I purchased a generator cord that AP Elec said was in stock. They promptly took my money, but never sent the cord. After a month I cancelled the order and requested a refund. After 6 phone calls over two weeks they said they would cancel and refund my money, but they never did. I was forced to file a dispute with my credit card company. I ordered a cord from a reputable company and received it in two days.
I purchased a generator from their website under the impression that the generator would ship within the advertised 2-3 business days. It has since been 2 weeks, with limited and terrible customer service from the company. Jannel only provides excuses and excuses as to why the generator has not been shipped, or that it "will be shipped". The second I requested a cancellation of my order, she then claimed it had been shipped, however there was "no tracking number", then it wasn't shipped!
Overall, it has been a terrible experience. Please do not buy from this company.

Do not buy anything from this company if you expect any type of service after the sale! 1 They will totally ignore you and tell you to call cummins and Cummins always says contact your dealer or distributor and I asked for AP electric and they will not assist me in anyway. I am unable to use my remote For my generator because I cannot hook it up without aN account and password. I can hire a local distributor to connect the remote but it will cost me an additional $300 and no one cares about after sale service that I did not sell the equipment so I am SOL

This company really doesn't care if the product they sell is damaged. YOUR PROBLEM. No apparent signs of damage to the container when it arrived but when I opened there was a large dent in the front cover.
The Shipping company, ESTES first question was "Did you sign for receiving the item", their answer was "you sign you own it". I called AP Electric because there was no sign of damage to the carton (proven with photos sent to them) and their response was the same, you signed it's your problem. AJ and Tim in their generator division could care less about their customers. PLEASE don't order from this company. I had to pay $130 for a replacement front panel, really sad. I am really not done with this situation yet, I purchased through PayPal and American Express and will send them a complete review of AP Electric and Estes Shipping. The Generac Generator is available from many other sources, do yourself a favor and buy from other than AP Electric.
After much research and speaking with a Kohler factory tech, I settled on a particular generator. According to the factory tech, there are two versions of this generator, one that has minimum site clearance of 60" and one that is certified to 18". I called the this company before ordering to make sure that I would receive the 18" certified version. The salesman insisted that all generators can be sited at 18". This is clearly wrong as the dimension drawings, from their own site, shows a minimum 60" clearance. I have seen other dimension drawing for the "same" unit that has the 18" clearance. The Kohler factory rep stated that only models made after a particular 'specification number' are certified for the closer distance. When I pointed out that the AP salesman was wrong, he hung up on me.
Absolutely the worst do not do business with these people absolutely no customer service what so ever they send you broken crap and then tell you it's your problem.
Ordered a Generac 24KW in late Summer. They said it would ship the end of October. On the 26th I called to check on status. They said not available till March, but if I would downgrade to a 2KW they had them in stock and would ship right away. I said OK. They said due to a price increase it would cost me another $180.00. I said OK. That was on the 26th, I called today and now they say it will not ship till Spring. I said OK, then I want the 24KW. She said OK, but there was a price increase on that. I said how about my original order, she said no you switched so now you pay the new price. I said, "but you told me to switch and you would ship right away." She said, "Too bad". I cancelled the order. Now we will see if we need to void the credit card transaction or if the refund the over $7000. 00. Do not deal with this company!

I ordered from ap electric, and paid $50 more than elsewhere because they said the generator was in stock and ships in 1-3 days. All lies, i after 4 calls and no return calls i found it ships from factory, and they did not have any, already charged me for it the first day. Did not ship til 9 days later! Shipping took 2 more weeks! I guess that is why you should buy from amazon or ebay, or other reputable companies. Will not buy from this co again, like all other reveiws, one star!.
I ordered a Westinghouse generator that I was sending to Puerto Rico after the hurricane. When it was not shipped to me for almost a month, I called the company and asked to cancel the order. I then bought a generator locally. The next day it was shipped. When I tried to return it for a full refund, I was told I had never called to cancel. So it was all my fault and I could not get a refund. Sleazy people.
They recommended 2 switches for the generator I bought from them. The switches were the wrong ones and they REFUSED to take them back. I had to buy new switches from a local dealer. It cost me over $3,000 between the two AP refused to return and the ones I had to buy. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF!
They have the worst customer service! I was trying to purchase some replacement parts for my kohler generator and they were absolutely no help. Each time I would call i would tell them my generator information and would ask if they could help me find the correct replacement controller for my unit. Each time they said they would call me back. After calling 9 times someone finally was able to help... at least that's what I thought. I purchased the controller they said was the correct one. Once I got it I could immediately tell it was wrong. I called and explained to them that it wasn't the correct one and would need to return it since they obviously sold me the wrong one. They gave me some excuse why they couldn't take it back even though it was never even opened. I will never deal with these people again. I'm out around $600 due to their mistake and still had to buy the CORRECT controller else where.
The generator came in damaged, AP said there was nothing they could do but were willing to sell me the parts to repair it. Terrible company to deal with. BUYER BEWARE
