Benjamin Garcia did a excellent job on my bathroom and bedroom floor. He was very professional and made sure everything was perfect. I would recommend Benjamin for any floor job.
Changed my job from repairing storm damage to a porch, to an appliance installation. Contractor showed up with a drill and couldn't do the job. Contacting Angi was a night mare. After an hour on the site and in the chat they finally offered to reschedule and send the correct contractor. When I declined it took another 30 minutes to get a refund. Save yourself a headache and ask your friends for a local contractor. Another fun fact, the contractor told me he only receives 30% of the fee I paid. AWFUL!
I made a booking with a handyman to do a small welding job. After we talked, he said he didn't think he could do the job. So I've tried to cancel the job on Angi, and they want to charge me $25. It has taken me 3 hours and 3 minutes to get cancelled.
Stay away from this company they are a total scam. They will call you a leave messages that there is something urgent and you must call right away something like this "This is Angie and we have something urgent to discuss with you." Naturally you get worried that something has happened and call them back just to find out they want to sell you a product you have told them several times before you don't want because you have tried it for years and it doesn't work at all.
This company screwed me out of $1200.00 refused to issue me the refund for charges to my card for leads I could get. This company is scamming hard working people be careful. I will be reporting them to the better business beru.
I got an estimate for getting a window replaced online from Angi. It wasn't specific about whether the estimate would be for labor in the product which was the window. I tried getting a hold of the contractor several times before the date came up, and I finally did the morning off. I told him that I did not know how to measure this properly, and he came by to help me. Found at tIt wasn't specific about whether the estimate would be for labor in the product which was the window. I tried getting a hold of the contractor several times before the date came up, and I finally did the morning of. I told him that I did not know how to measure this properly, and he came by to help me. He found that the estimate was wrong And called Angie's customer support. We're in the line for an hour half an hour and then they put us on hold for another 15 minutes before we dropped. Basically I was going to cancel because what I asked for it was not what was really going to happen hurt.
The contractor actually canceled on his side but I couldn't seem to cancel on my side. Even online. The contractor was coming by for something different the next day and told me he had canceled his side. I called them again and they told me they were going to charge me the entire $420 because it was past the time in the appointment that already happened. I explained everything and told them that they are customer service they before was terrible and we had canceled them. They said OK will only charge you half. I get so upset then they finally came down to saying OK will charge you $50 and half of it will go to the contractor. The contractor told me he had already canceled. So that was a lie.
I initially went through HomeAdvisor, which I guess got bought out by Angi. I will never do business with them again the contractors work may be great with the system that they using in the support that they have is absolutely bad. And you could tell that this lady on the support line was doing everything she could to make sure that I was paying something to the company.
Scum of the crop. Tried to put a guilt trip on me for refusing to get them hundreds of dollars before approving my account. His name is Sean. I'll be contacting the main office (here in Indianapolis).
I went on Angi to secure an electrician. The first reschedule then said she couldn't come. The 2nd just didn't show so I called. He said he couldn't make it. Finally a person who said he was an electrician came and even went in my attic. He said he would return the next day. He never came and the business card he gave me wasn't his number. All these electricians were referred through the Angi. I requested a refund and vowed never to use this company again. I had to search for a reputable electrician to help me. I will never refer anyone to this company!
Quoted me $410.00 to replace a closet flange that 3 other plumbing contracted for under $150.00
Thes people are crooked as night & day
Coming from what I would say is an extremely reputable company that completed Handy's first deal nationwide. If you have no other bottom barrel option and you have no clue how to market then this could work. However, the quality of the leads and attention to contract adherence is not Angis interest at all. In fact, they will even compete with you to cherry pick the leads through there lead funnel. You will get strong armed if you try to quit or get out of the contract. The lead quality will likely drop as they adapt to benefit themselves over the contractor paying for the service. If you like getting around 20% good quality leads and 80% rehashed garbage then this company is a great fit. There are many many other much more effective tech savvy options that provide way better results for half the cost. I think you will find this is a stepping stone marketing company. There is a reason they tie you into a contract. Once you start to grow and can compare the differences of other marketing services you will never ever consider Angi again. This is coming from someone who has spent nearly 50k with Angi.
The riding lawnmower and accessories that go with it. Big cart and 3 baggers for clippings that catch the grass.
Angis list charges the contract for every lead they get no matter what time the lead comes in, saw 7:30pm on a Saturday night. I don't think customers realize this so when they 3-4 calls from companies wanted the job requested in order to recoup some of the money charged.
Also there's not a category for specific products a company provides so you're stuck in a category with services your company doesn't provide. But the sales rep says it'll be no problem you can easily get credit for those charges. HAHA Yea out you can get credit twice and then its a hassle and you get your rep working against you. Pissed is an understatement. Contractors beware don't use aegis list and customers you're better off using BBB or a google search for what you need.
Emailed for a refund which my rep Alanah Foy said 1-2 business days. What she failed to mention was that id never get a call back and when I called 10 days later I was told I can get a refund because it's been past 72 hours... so now there's $750 credit with a company who the small business of 3 people can't use...
Hired Bobbie Joe Civitello to install a metal seamless roof over an existing air lock roof in Mendon Vermont based on ANGI providing this contractor. Individual consistently did not show up on the committed time they said would show up. Contractor did not show up with the proper tools to do the project or the tools they came with were not functional. Contractor material list provided for owner purchase was not complete for project and the size of the roof joists for a new air lock roof were undersized (2" x 4" vs 2" x 6"). Contractor failed to adequately cover roof to prevent rain intrusion into air lock. Would not recommend this contractor to do any project involving structural work related to any roofing project.
As a contractor, we would call the leads within minutes to find out the majority of the leads never answer the phone or return voice messages. The other common response if they don't need your services and act like why are you calling. We tried out $1,500 worth of leads to not get one job. Total Scam. Do not use as a lead source generation tool. Not to mention, their customer service could not care less and never do anything to inquire or even try to make right.
They give you false installation times and do not back their failure when the person to do the work does not show up. Do not use this Company for any needs. Well unless you want to take off work and wait for someone to arrive on their false claims that you have an appointment.
I hired McCloskey painting to install wallpaper in my condo. Mark did a neat and excellent job.He compleated the job and was very efficient in the clean up phase.
They did an awesome job from the sales team who described every option available. To the installers who we're in and out in 2 days which is hard to believe 2 people removed and installed 26 windows that quick
Just because I used your service doesn't mean you have permission to call me over and over and over again to find out any details about why I used your service in the first place. Do not call me unless I call you first Angi. You've lost a customer because of your annoying pestering.
I put in a request for a caterer and a window tinting company for my home windows and got NO responses even when they matched me with several available contractors. They are all non-responsive and not interested in new customers.
I ordered an Item from Wayfair, and added to Angi's service. Two Contractors were assigned (I had no idea they were not connected). One contacted me ahead of time to confirm date/time. Closer to the date of service I advised that I would be available all day and if he had availability any earlier than the 7pm time that was given to me two weeks prior. He told me anytime after 10am. I requested 2pm, time was confirmed. On the day before service, I confirmed again. On the day of service, he contacted me 15min before service time and advised that he would not be able to make that time but closer to 5p. Not happy about the change but I accepted it. About 15 mins before he was due to arrive for the new time he texted me asking if someone else could do it. The drive for him would be an hour and he's just seeing that. After lots of back and forth, he advised that he could come out but would need to be tipped because Angi would only pay him $30 for this assignment. He then encouraged me to just let him do the job and there was no reason to contact Angi about any of this, he'd just do the assignment. I called Angi to advise of what was going on, and he then told me while I was on the phone with Angi… to tell Angi to pay him more and he'd do the job. As a result, Angi removed him from the job. This assignment required two people. So I waited for a second person to claim the job less than 2 hours before time. Of course, one person showed and a second person never claimed the job. I had to cancel the job that had been scheduled more than 2 weeks prior and confirmed multiple times. I cannot rate my experience directly on Angi because the company was removed from the job and no longer listed for me to rate and leave a comment, which is why the overall rating for Angi is high on the site because there is no way to rate extremely poor experiences once removed.
Edited to Add:
I rated it higher than a 1 because the one person that showed up was kind, ready, and willing to do the job without an issue. Also, I tip any workers that service me, however, allow me the customer/client to make the choice and determine how much... as tips are often determined by quality.
Answer: You'll have to contact the website directly. They don't monitor the Sitejabber website. Try to see if you can get them to delete your profile. If not, I would contact the Better Business Bureau or the Attorney General's office or another state law enforcement office in your state. This sounds like fraud to me (but, I'm not a lawyer).
