Altra Running

About 5 years ago I ordered and received a pair of Altra "Adam" shoes. They fit and were so comfortable that I ordered a second pair after I wore the first pair in the ocean. I figured i would never get the smell out so I used that first pair and used the second pair as "driving" shoes. Then I washed the originals. Now, I am still wearing both pair but I need to get new replacements. Any chance that model will be offered again?

I love ALTRA shoes mainly because there is a pair that fits every running occasion and every type of terrain! I definitely put each pair through its paces and most of the time I feel good about the volume of miles I can get out of each pair. So far I'm unable to find an ALTRA that I don't like.

I am now trying out the new DUO's and Vanish-R's for the little bit of road mileage I do. However, I am a trail runner by heart and the Superior 3.5's cant be beat!

Two features are mandatory for any shoe I buy: A wide toe box and zero drop (height difference) between the heel and forefoot. These features make a huge difference in positioning your body to run efficiently and with low impact. Altra is the only brand that builds this into every shoe they make. If I have one criticism, it's that you can tell they are a young company and their products aren't always as refined as other more seasoned companies. That being said, I have exclusively run in Altras for the last 3 years, and it is worth bearing with their experiments, because some of them have been revolutionary (like the One2.5).

I am hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in March. I am using the Altra Lone Peak 3.5 Limited Edition which is amazing! Great fit, love the toe box, and the zero drop feature with this shoe. Also am hiking with the Mens Lone Peak Mid Mesh 3.5 same shoe with a mid mesh support. Great company and amazing shoes. I will recommend to anyone who is looking for a good hiking or running shoe. I love altra. I love the running shoes (and the benefits... no more shin splints!). However as a broke college student, I try to prolong the life of my Altra sneakers as long as I can. I threw in the towel yesterday. I went on the website to order and bang there was a pair on sale for 60 dollars (would have been 110). That was a steal! I go to order them and they are out of stock of all colors and sizes. All I ask is that they take the idea off if it is out of stock. Or acknowledge on the homie screen temporarily unavailable

About two months ago a friend of mine recommended that I give the Altra running shoes a try. Since then I have acquired three different pairs of their shoes. The Lone Peak 3.5, Escalantes, and the Vail. All three of them are extremely comfortable to wear and seem to be holding up very well. Due to the amount of running and other activities that I do, over time I started to have issues with the compression of my toes. I eventually started wearing the Injinji toe socks which helped tremendously and continue to do so daily. Now that I have a sneaker for just about any activity, the added benefit of having more freedom at the front of the shoe has made every day much more comfortable!

I really love their shoes. I have worn the Torrin, Lone Peak, Superior, The One 2, and the Escalante. Love the zero drop and wide forefoot! But every time I order a pair it's always hit or miss. My last order I checked out as a guest and ordered a pair and never got a confirmation email. My credit card was processing the order but it never went through. Huge bummer, I ordered again and it finally went through but now it's 4 days later. I also always seem to get shoes with too short laces. Never long enough to double knot them. My Lone Peak 2.5 had long laces and now my new 3.5 have short laces in the same size. I ordered a pair of The One a few years back and one lace was long and the other was short. So bizarre. Everytime I send an email or a tweet to Altra to send me new laces I never hear back. Get it figured out please!

Bought a pair, didnt fit, the return process on line wouldn't work. Was told to forward info in email.a month later im being blanked everywhere. Rip off company. Avoid
